A sandwich?

A butty?

Something else?.....poll on way.

Locke. 27-04-2012 01:19 PM

Butty

MTVN 27-04-2012 01:20 PM

If there's bacon or chips in it then it could be referred to as a butty :pipe:

Jords 27-04-2012 01:23 PM

Bacon/Chip butty, everything else sandwich I think.

Oh yes, I see what you mean. I just call them all butties regardless.

InOne 27-04-2012 01:26 PM

If it's in a t-cake then I'm more likely to call it a butty. Might go have a cheeky bacon butty now actually, or maybe just a ham sandwich. Hmmmm

MTVN 27-04-2012 01:27 PM

Yeah bacon, chips or sausage I call it a butty but with everything else it's a sandwich

Shaun 27-04-2012 01:28 PM

I only say chip butty... everything else (bacon included) is a sandwich.

Benjamin 27-04-2012 01:29 PM

Sandwich or sarnie.

Depends on the "container" as well as the contents :

Bap, Barm, Batch, Bun, Butty, Cob, Nudger, Sandwich

One would never have a salmon and cumber Nudger ..... :nono:

joeysteele 27-04-2012 01:44 PM

A sandwich.

Kate! 27-04-2012 01:45 PM

Pretty surprised only two call it a butty though.

Smithy 27-04-2012 01:45 PM

both

Locke. 27-04-2012 01:47 PM

First you all make the mistake of calling the pictures the cinema, and now this.

What is wrong with you people :pipe:

Bollo 27-04-2012 02:11 PM

Sandwich...unless it's got chips in, then it's a chip butty

Jordan. 27-04-2012 02:13 PM

Butty = in a breadcake (breadroll/breadbun, whatever you lot call that too)

Livia 27-04-2012 02:51 PM

Sandwich or sarnie... but strangely, like Bollo, if it's got chips in it, it's a butty.

bbfan1991 27-04-2012 03:04 PM

Sandwich.

Josy 27-04-2012 03:22 PM

Niall 27-04-2012 03:25 PM

Depends. Formal = sandwich; informal = butty.

Sandwich

InOne 21-05-2012 11:16 PM

What's with all these Kate threads getting bumped :suspect:

Mrluvaluva 21-05-2012 11:45 PM

I use both. I think I use the term sandwich more though. I would say a "bacon butty" rather than a "bacon sandwich", or a "chip butty". But then I would say a "prawn sandwich" rather than a "prawn butty".

Do you say a "grilled cheese sandwich" or a "toastie"?

Princess 22-05-2012 02:42 AM

Sandwich, it's only a butty when it has chips in it.

mizzy25 22-05-2012 08:14 AM

as has been said it depends on wot it is bacon is a bacon buttie chips chip butty but say tuna is a sandwich u cudnt have a tuna butty it wudnt sound right i also say tuna sarnie
