Oh yes, I see what you mean. I just call them all butties regardless.

If it's in a t-cake then I'm more likely to call it a butty. Might go have a cheeky bacon butty now actually, or maybe just a ham sandwich. Hmmmm

Yeah bacon, chips or sausage I call it a butty but with everything else it's a sandwich

I only say chip butty... everything else (bacon included) is a sandwich.

Crisp butties as well but I dont really have them often.

I never say crisp or sausage butties.......only sometimes bacon but always chip

Depends on the "container" as well as the contents :

Bap, Barm, Batch, Bun, Butty, Cob, Nudger, Sandwich

I use both. I think I use the term sandwich more though. I would say a "bacon butty" rather than a "bacon sandwich", or a "chip butty". But then I would say a "prawn sandwich" rather than a "prawn butty".

Do you say a "grilled cheese sandwich" or a "toastie"?

as has been said it depends on wot it is bacon is a bacon buttie chips chip butty but say tuna is a sandwich u cudnt have a tuna butty it wudnt sound right i also say tuna sarnie
