I wonder if there'll be a deluxe edition like FoE, some of those bonus tracks were amazing. I'm excited for this, very excited. August is good because I still have enough time to enjoy her massive discography that I only got into in December :joker:

I'm absolute over the moon she has a new album out! BUT SHE DECIDES TO TOUR THE UK WHEN I'M NOT IN IT! :bawling:

Apparently, "Spiral" and "Guardian" were performed at Guitar Center sessions. Nearly every tune has a monster chorus – from the ballad "Havoc" to "Celebrity," a scathing takedown of America's obsession with fame: "I am a tattooed sexy dancing monkey," Morissette sings. "Yes, it was inspired by specific people," she says. "But I'll never talk about that, 'cause it's just rude."

Has anybody heard this track that was released last week apparently as part of Starbucks’ "Every Mother Counts Volume 2" Mother’s Day compilation in support of Christy Turlington's charity? This song is produced with Guy Sigsworth as a part of the new album sessions, although it will not appear on the new album.

I heard about it but I never listened. Going to listen now. I downloaded a lot of her non-album tracks recently.

It wasn't her best but So Unsexy is amazing (although the Vancouver Sessions version was better).
Have you heard So-Called Chaos or Flavours of Entanglement yet? (you might want to skip S-CC) |
im gonna try URS again :suspect:
|
I think it starts really strong and then just dips in the middle and sorta picks up again at the end but it never really left a big impression on me.

Alanis Morissette — or is that Fiona Apple? — looks totally at peace on the cover of her eighth studio album, Havoc And Bright Lights, out August 28. The 38-year-old singer-songwriter wrote the 12-track LP in the months following the birth of her son Ever Imre, and many of the themes on the disc touch on intimate subjects like motherhood and spirituality. The singer sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss her new album, though she does dip into some some other areas, like her bond with other entertainers who hit it big in the 90s. “I have a unique perspective that perhaps people like Eminem and Leonardo DiCaprio share,” she says. “There are certain people who are in my generation who were in the hot kitchen the same time as me, and whether I know them or not is incidental. I just feel we have this wink with each other. There’s a kinship because we were in a similar era in the hot kitchen.” Link |
I'm a huge ALanis fan, but i'm not looking forward to this album. it seems like self indulgent crap and very half hearted. The first song i heard from it sounded AWFUL.
I read an interview were she even admitted that her heart wasn't in it, that she was basically just focused on her child and the music was secondary. I hope i'm wrong. |
