Awesome, Britney's a judge- you can tell it's going to be a great series! Forget Nicole and Paula!

BBfanUSA 14-05-2012 08:56 PM

Also the hosts may of been revealed as well.

They are Raven-Symone and Chad Micheal Murray, which is the most random combo you could've ever thought of.

It's weird how apart from Chad all the newbies are ex Disney stars.

Doogle 14-05-2012 09:07 PM

I want to make a post about how excited I am knowing Raven is hosting but all I feel like doing is smashing my keyboard with happiness. :amazed::amazed::amazed::amazed:

Amazing! Suprised Brit looks slimmer than Demi.

Callum 14-05-2012 09:15 PM

BBfanUSA 14-05-2012 09:21 PM

I know that it's at least Raven because I heard that she's there. It was first said that it was going to be those two on DS.

I think Chad was in a Miramax (Owned By Disney) film called "A Cinderella Story" with Hilary Duff. Who was also a disney star. So he's basically a Disney Star

Official press release:

Really puts the UK judging panel to shame

Maybe she's promoting another show. Hosts haven't been confirmed but it does seem like an odd pairing, Raven has no hosting experience, neither does Chad. I think Gwen Stefani will be the female host.

Jack_ 14-05-2012 09:55 PM

Britney's a pretty huge signing. Got to be one of, if not the biggest for one of these shows ever surely?

Don't really know the other girl that much but it's a big improvement nonetheless. I probably won't end up knowing the hosts but hopefully they'll be better than Steve...and I'm sure that won't take much.

For sure, the only signing bigger than Britney would be Madonna and she'd never do it because she hates reality TV.

Marsh. 14-05-2012 10:50 PM

I heard Madonna hates TV in general. lol
But that picture of all 4 judges is pretty tragic. I thought the UK show was a joke but that's the best America has to offer? They had to actually tell the audience to react. lol

Demi: "So totally stoked" That's nice love. Can't wait to hear your critiques.

And someone needs to remind Simon the show started in 2004, so it's not even 8 years old yet let alone 10.

Jack_ 14-05-2012 10:56 PM

The UK panel needs a big name now to compensate. I think Katy Perry should get the gig if they can get her.

I agree, the UK panel is laughable compared to this one. It's looking unlikely that Dannii will return so we need a big current singer to fill the last judges seat like Katy, Rihanna or Nicki Minaj.

Jack_ 14-05-2012 11:30 PM

I personally think Dannii's return would've been pointless without Simon present, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen. I'd love a Sharon return but that'll never happen.

It needs to be big but I think it might be Alesha Dixon. Or Marina.

reece(: 14-05-2012 11:53 PM

Our version is becoming a joke with judges like Tulisa and Kelly Rowland, c-list singers whereas Britney and Demi are solid A's.

I agree. The UK really needs a big name now. If someone like Alesha Dixon is named the US show will overshadow our show

Britney looks great :)

lostalex 15-05-2012 09:08 AM

The line up on The Voice still feels more impressive to me.

X-Factor USA still feels like a second class show compared to The Voice USA.

The Voice just seems more professional. The Voice seems more artistic and more about actual music, and not just about fame and glamour.

All 4 judges of The Voice are talented musicians. On X-Factor, Simon, L.A., and Britney are not talented musicians. The voice has 4 out of 4, X-Factor only has 1 out of 4.

Beastie 15-05-2012 09:21 AM

Fantastic news. I am so happy that Britney is a judge. Not sure about Demi. She is not big in the UK. Only in America. But still.. I am happy for the lineup! Katy Perry replaceing Demi would have been better but it would be great if Katy Perry was a UK X Factor judge.

Gary Bellend - Dannii Minogue - Katy Perry - Louis Walsh.

Replacing Gary with Simon would be better but not going to happen.

Hmm well Britney has had emmence experience in the music industry?

Hasnt she had 7 albums with sales just under 100 million? Relased 35 singles and completed 7 world tours?

Britney was on alot of talent shows when she was younger so knows what the contestants are going through and its not only about coaching the singing talents its about preparing them for what they are getting into and i think Britney is a perfect example of what can happen with the media.

Heart Britney :)

Marsh. 15-05-2012 12:31 PM

Except Britney is a complete shadow of what she was 7+ years ago. Having both Britney and Demi on the show is the same vacuous, shallow and empty comments coming from two of the judges.

Yes, Britney will bring in the viewers (the sole reason she was hired) but as far as actual credibility to critique vocals and performance she's out of her depth. She can't put on a good show anymore herself.

Once an amazing dancer who now skips around the stage whilst fireworks and video screens distract the audience.

I agree, shame the Voice UK is slipping in the ratings though cos I think it's a far superior and classy show. Who are the coaches in the US version?

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo, Adam Levine (lead singer of Maroon 5) and Blake Shelton (country music singer).

Thanks Callum :)

Britney looks so good in that video! She's going to make a brilliant judge! :worship:

rSlavenx 15-05-2012 01:09 PM

This is a really smart choice from the producers, especially Britney who is a huge star who everyone will be interested to see as a judge probably more because of her personal life than her musical contribution, but will rack in the viewers. I know very little about Demi but by bringing her in they've extended their market to younger viewers.

Callum 15-05-2012 01:09 PM

Apparently Demi is getting paid $14m less than Britney for the gig at just $1m, double standards really because as much as I like Britney, Demi is more talented than her.

But Britney is a much bigger star. I'm a massive fan! :cheer:

So true. I'm a fan of both Demi and Britney but its clear that Britney is there to bring in the viewers and not because she has an amazing voice like Demi does, though Britney has years of experience in the industry. Still excited for sure

I love Britney. She's a great performer. I don't really know Demi, so i can't comment on her.

Not surprising. Britney is much more marketable than Demi.

However, I do think $15 mill is extortionate for such an average 'popstar' who once was a good dancer, but now nothing more than a 30 year old woman with issues.

If you call skipping around a stage a "performance" then you're right, Britney does it well.

Marc 15-05-2012 01:31 PM

Britney is going to bring in sooooo many more viewers than they had originally. That's such an amazing signing.

Don't really know much about Demi or care tbh, especially when up against Britters

Britney is the best! I love her! She's sexy and cool!:amazed:

I think Demi is good for the younger teens etc. but lets face it the Girl catagory should really go to Britney

Demi is an ex Disney star who has famously battled addictions and bulimia. I think she's a good role model for young girls because she often speaks out about her troubles to help others with eating disorders and for someone in her position to do that is commendable. She's also probably the only Disney star who has a natural singing voice. I think she's a good singing because she'll bring in the younger audience which the TV advertisers strive for.

for the first episode maybe... i can't imagine Britney will be able to hold the viewers though. They will tune in just to see if she's as nuts as everyone thinks she is, and once they see that she's not nuts, she's just nice to everyone, they'll get bored quickly.
