Your favourite strange recipes/foods?

Post some of your favourite strange combinations or recipes. I absolutely love cheese, ham and banana sandwiches. Sounds horrible but is lush!

Josy 24-05-2012 11:47 AM

Ew no that sounds horrible, I like toast & banana but not with anything else on it

Hmmm I don't think I eat anything weird but I will have a think.

Kizzy 24-05-2012 11:50 AM

My son likes bagles with peanut butter and chicken...Its like satay, not bad actually.

Niamh. 24-05-2012 11:53 AM

I don't think I eat anything very weird really, Gav eats pasta with butter, milk and cheese though yuck

Black Dagger 24-05-2012 11:58 AM

See above

I hate macaroni and cheese, its disgusting. Don't be offended Alex but I have never understood why Americans seem to love it so much.
I don't know anyone who likes it...Maybe we should do a poll on it? :)

Canadians like it too, but they call it "Kraft Dinner" but still, that makes it INTERNATIONALLY popular. :P

(and i've heard mac and cheese is a delicacy in japan)

No lol he cooks the pasta, then puts it in a bowl and puts cold milk, butter and cheese on it.

I love Macaroni and cheese though, practically lived on it when I lived in London

so he cooks the pasta and then melts the butter and cheese into it, and then pours cold milk, doesn't the milk just make it creamier? it still sounds the same as mac and cheese to me, but i'm sure i must be missing something, does the milk not just blend into it? like it's like mac and cheese with just puddles of milk in it?

LemonJam 24-05-2012 02:22 PM

I've put maple syrup into noodles before. Actually not bad at all.

maple syrup is soo good on sausages. *drools like homer* (the vermont kind of course, not that low budget canadian sugar water stuff)

Yeah, I suppose, it just looks gross that way to me, like cereal gone wrong

lostalex 24-05-2012 02:26 PM

You know the trick to leftover mac and cheese, is to stir milk into it before you microwave it. It works perfectly.

lostalex 24-05-2012 02:27 PM

You know what is gross though, speaking of mac and cheese, i knew a guy that would put ketchup in his mac and cheese, now THAT did gross me out.

Niamh. 24-05-2012 02:30 PM

Gav puts ketchup on too much stuff as well, like on his Pizza and on roast potatoes :bored: ruins the whole taste of what he's eating

lostalex 24-05-2012 02:34 PM

I'm trying to think of what the grossest thing i like is, i'm sure there must be something i eat that would gross you guys out, it's just not popping into my mind though.

Lewis. 24-05-2012 03:08 PM

Try apple sauce and cheese sandwiches too! scrummy - in fact anything with apple sauce is yummy!

King Gizzard 24-05-2012 03:10 PM

I put ketchup on most meals, why is putting it on pizza deemed weird :suspect: Extra flavour

King Gizzard 24-05-2012 03:11 PM

And I thought it was quite common, but when I ask people they've never heard of having treacle and cheese sandwiches, they're reeeally really good

and cheese on the top of fruit cake

No, it kills the whole flavour of the pizza

InOne 24-05-2012 03:22 PM

It's not weird/strange though, loads of people do it.

Roy Mars III 24-05-2012 03:25 PM

ketchup is great with cold pizza, don't use it with warm though

lostalex 24-05-2012 03:40 PM

I'll dip just about anything in Ranch Dressing and it's always good. I think most people love ranch though, so i don't think it's that gross.

Niamh. 24-05-2012 03:41 PM

I'm addicted to sweet chilli sauce atm actually, it's so nice

Nicky. 25-05-2012 12:24 PM

Ketchup goes on everything for me! Cheese pasta, pizza, a roast, any pot noodle - the ketchup goes on! ..... I thought it was normal xD

I love cooking rice then adding gravy to it? Sugar butties were boss when I was little.
Mayo and ketchup mixed together is heaven also!

Mayo mixed with Honey Mustard is also amazing!

Niall 26-05-2012 09:59 AM

I don't think I eat strange things really. I like tatar sauce on chips but not fish, and when we have stir fry i have to put ketchup all over it and mix it in.

Oh and I'll only drink instant coffee when its mixed into cold milk. Idk why, but I think instant coffee is disgusting when hot.

Kizzy 26-05-2012 10:51 AM

mayo and tomato sauce is nice mixed, goes lovely with prawn salad.

Me. I Am Salman 26-05-2012 10:57 AM

I love spreading peanut butter on slices of apple & eating kettle chip sandwiches

Kizzy 26-05-2012 11:12 AM

Those doritos in the red packet are nice crushed in a cheese sarnie.

lostalex 26-05-2012 11:25 AM

Ohh, i just thought of something nasty that a friend of mine used to do.

She loved to eat ramen noodles raw. Like just eat them dry and crunchy. That always grossed me out sooo much.

Niamh. 26-05-2012 11:31 AM

I like raw noodles, wouldn't eat a whole pack like, but I like to eat some raw before I cook them

eeek, the thought of it is like nails on a chalk board for me, i don't know why.

Niamh. 26-05-2012 11:33 AM

They taste good though, I like eating raw spaghetti too
