Sky Living to air Jade Goody documentary next week

Not really BB13 related but Jade was in two series and it airs two days into BB13:

Whoops, edited. I meant BB 2012 (the name of the forum). So will anyone here be watching?

Patrick 29-05-2012 10:41 PM

Patrick 29-05-2012 10:42 PM

 Maybe straight after but not 3 years after.

daniel-lewis-1985 29-05-2012 10:45 PM

Whatever anyone says about Jade she was ****ing entertaining to watch and people were and still are facinated with her.

And as un pc as it is the Shilpa Poppadom comment cracked me up, she said what we all say in private she just had no mute button.

I would watch but i live in a room in the ****hole that is London so will not be investing in sky.

"Am i minging?"

Patrick 29-05-2012 10:51 PM

About 7 people in BB3 were far more interesting than she was.

Ramsay 29-05-2012 10:52 PM

can we please move on

No Karl, because we must all remember 'da legacy of dis tru hero and saviour'.

Nah I agree. I'd honestly rather watch like a documentary on Lil Chris or something, than Living going on about this more and more again.

It's not that, it's just 3 years is random? I mean, wait 5 years for a milestone of some sort - but this is poorly for abit of ratings or something.

It does seem a bit random airing it when BB usually starts rather than on the day she died.

Patrick 29-05-2012 11:01 PM

Yeah, I mean if anything it'd make more sense if Channel 5 aired it.

Patrick 29-05-2012 11:02 PM

Still though:

BB3.. BB13.

eh?
idk.

Jordan. 29-05-2012 11:04 PM

Doubt i'll watch it but fair enough, it's for a good cause.

Could be because it's 10 years since BB3, but that started in May and ended in July. Unless they're simply airing it when they think BB fans will most likely be interested (at the start of the new series), pointless making a documentary no one's going to watch.

Patrick 29-05-2012 11:06 PM

That has actually upset me. Like it's just hit me that it was 10 Years ago.

BB3 was a whole decade ago. That didn't even sink in the other week when I read your thread [I think you made it]. But it just has.
Crazy.

Yeah I did. And yeah it doesn't feel like a decade.

BBDodge 30-05-2012 01:00 AM

It's not a Jade Goody documentary:

"Jade's Legacy: The Fight Goes On"

Three women's experiences of cancer.

So a documentary on cancer has been modified to cash in on the launch of BB13.

The documentry titled “Jade’s Legacy: The Fight Goes On” will focus on the Big Brother stars battle with cervical cancer and death in March 2009. The documentry will also look at how the number of women taking smear tests have decreased in the past two years, despite an initial rise after Goody’s death.

It's about Jade and some examples of her legacy. Though I wouldn't be surprised if trying to cash in is why it's on now, I don't think it's been modified to include her afterwoods as Living used to air her reality shows.

daniel-lewis-1985 30-05-2012 01:22 AM

Its so mad that BB3 is 10 years ago.

10 years ago i was Patricks age and living on my own (coz i was hardcore or a rebel without a cause) with my cousin in a rented bungalow with weekly parties and watched BB evictions every Friday!

Good ****ing times

No ipods, just cd walkmans and multichangable cd players haha

Omah 30-05-2012 01:38 AM

"Jade's Legacy: The Fight Goes On"

What a load of b******s ..... :hmph:

Goody was a very, very stupid woman who, as a teenager, had medical problems and who, as a woman, decided to ignore the continuing symptoms and doctors' diagnosis and advice to earn £100k in India - it may well be that her cancer was already too far advanced to be "cured" but, inexcusably, she put her children through a massively publicised experience of serious illness and loss ..... :yuk:

Her only "legacy" was to leave a mess to be cleared up by other people, particulary Jeff Brazier, who had to take care of the boys, while fending off Ma Budden and Jack "The Spurter" Tweedy ..... :idc:

Jake. 30-05-2012 07:27 AM

So, because Jade died if a serious illness, she should be blamed that Jeff has to care for his kids and 'fend off ma burdern'? Boo *****ing hoo. No body deserves cancer, maybe she inored warnings because she wasnt the strongest person in the world?

Indeed, part of her modus operandi as a bully was to gather a "team" or "crew" around her before picking on a "victim", although she was on her own when she smashed a landline handset on Brazier's head .....

No, we don't all say things like that. Just the uneducated, and inherently racist amongst us.

This. And that one comment was only the tip of the iceberg of all the racism and bullying that was going on by Jade and her cronies that CBB.

InOne 30-05-2012 10:11 AM

I've had a straight ban for my views on Jade before, so I'll just say:

Oh Goody...

Shanna 30-05-2012 10:16 AM

Actually, I did always like Jade. I believed her to be real. Funny and entertaining. She might have not been the brightest spark in the box, but that added to who she was.

I don't condone the remarks she made towards Shilpa, she made a stupid mistake. One that was seen by millions of people, and something we are all guilty of...not being perfect. It's only human. I think her ignorance more than anything sparked those remarks, and the fact she was clearly riled by her...I know I can't sit here and say I have never said something in the heat of the moment, not racial remarks of course. But I consider myself to be a good person, and I for one would absolutely hate to have it held against me in life, and in death.

As for what Omah said, I had no idea she had ignored symptoms, I always thought it was thrust upon her. I will be watching the programme, having lost my cousin aged 24 to the same illness and having actually liked Jade Goody.

We may not be perfect, but we don't all turn into racist bullies either when we don't like a person.

You say you don't condone the remarks she made to Shilpa, before then going on to condone them.

Jade was a vile caricature. I feel sorry for her boys, and the people who loved her, but let's not re-write Jade into something she wasn't. The world is not a worse place because jade no longer inhabits it. She only became sorry about those remarks, once she saw the impact her bullying and racism had on her impact to make money, and rain death threats on her.

The world needs to sweep Jade under the carpet and forget she ever existed, not remember her with another documentary.

This is the timeline of Goody's illness:

http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...eply&p=5161646

These are extracts :

Quote:

1997
Jade has abnormal cells removed from her cervix, at the age of 15.

According to the NHS Cancer Screening Programme, this is incredibly rareIn 2006 only 54 women under the age of 25 died from cervical cancer, and no one under the age of 20 has died from the disease in the last 2 years..
Quote:

February 2008
Photographers snap Jade coming out of the doctor's - she tells them she is undergoing tests for cancer
Quote:

August 2008
Jade's rushed to hospital after collapsing and losing blood. She's kept in while experts try to find the cause and she says it's the 4th time this has happened over 4 years.

Later the same month, 2 days after entering the Indian version of Big Brother, Jade is called into the Diary Room and told she has cervical cancer.

Jade reveals that she has had abnormal cells removed from her cervix 3 times in the past.

She also admits that she ignored a letter saying abnormal results had been found from a smear test a 4th time, because she was scared to go back to the hospital.
Quote:

At the time of Jade's death, it seemed as though she went from being healthy to extremely ill in a very short period of time - which might have made you worry about your own health. But Jade revealed shortly before her death that she'd been having symptoms for 3 years.
I've always maintained that there was more to the "Jade Goody Cancer" than has ever been made public - a belief precipitated by Goody's February 2008 comment, which was NOT widely published, a rare occurrence for Goody quotes, and the rapid and severe public onset of her illness, which, of course, she made sure was world news. Goody frequently criticised hospitals and staff before her "official" diagnosis but, suspiciously, she never took legal action against any hospital and they were gracious enough not to take any action against her.

I don't know why people only seem to remember and blame Jade for the race row, she wasn't even the worst offender in it all.

People don't only remember Jade for it, but Jades name comes up more here because it's a Big Brother site and this thread is about her. IIRC Jo from s club 7 got it as bad if not worse than Jade. Dannielle managed to get away pretty unscathed as far as I can remember well apart from getting dumped by her footballer b/f..........not sure if that was because of it or not though

Well...we are all entitled to our own opinions :)

I'm likely going to get slated for it but I will say it anyway, I liked her as a contestant. Yes I know she said things she shouldn't have and acted in ways that were inappropriate. But so did lots of other contestants I liked. If Shilpa can see past it, then so can I.

Thanks Omah...I actually don't know too much about her life. Just the obvious things that are in the media. Wonder if the show will talk about those things. Thanks for the info! Is there any information on when it will be aired?

Apparently, both boys had behavioural problems and one had learning difficulties, all caused by Goody's use of them in the public domain ..... :(

So Jade is to blame because her kids were BORN with learning difficulties? My God.... Anyways, I liked the woman. We all made mistakes, saying racist and hurtful cments hardly meant that she deserved what she went through. End of in my opinon.
