Team GB for the Olympics
 

The three over age players have been announced today:

Micah Richards (24), Craig Bellamy (32), Ryan Giggs (38). Which means that the remaining 15 players must all be under 23 years of age.

Why no Becks? :(

And wtf, I guess I can understand Giggsy and Bellamy, but Micah Richards? what an odd choice...

I'm guessing Rooney didn't put himself forward?

I don't think they can choose anyone that played at the Euro's, I don't think so anyway.

Ah I see. Even so I doubt Rooney would have cared about the Olympics... doubt he even knows what they are, probably thinks they're a type of cereal or something.

When do we know the under 23 players?

Not too sure, but they have a friendly on the 20th so am guessing it'll be in the next week or two

Bale is only 22

Bit of a nob for not picking Becks

I'm surprised at Bellamy really, with his knee and that

I think one of those spots should of gone to an experienced keeper

Micah Richards is a monster that's why.

Anybody remember the Under - 21's last summer? Pearce picking three defensive players for the midfield. What a manager.

But picking him over Beckham?

even worse when you consider a scumbag like Craig Bellamy gets picked over arguably the most looked up to English sportsperson ever

Bellamy is currently a better player than that old man

That may be so, but can he lead a team like Becks can? can anyone?

Not sure, can't think of who will actually be the captain with all the regular candidates not going to be there

Becks won nearly everything with La Galaxy last season he's been playing good football, Bellamy was a sub last season, Stuart Peace is a horrible bastard.. that is all

More importantly the people want to see Becks they don't want to see Rat face Craig Bellamy

The people can't wait to see Bellamy

+ with the games being in London, support will be a big factor in how well we do, and without Becks the support wont be as strong.

People from Britain will still support the team... they might get less attention from other countries but that doesn't matter either way.

Looks like we've lost about half of the Asian viewers thanks to Stuart Pearce being a tit

Bellamy plays in the PL..Beckham jobs in the MLS

Least he actually plays and wins things for them though instead of jobbing out on the bench

Bellamy was one of their better players last season

Robbie Savage would look world class in the MLS

Why should Becks be picked,he lives in America now

23 assists in 41 games for Becks since the start of 2011.. he's still got it

Because he was one of the reasons we got the Olympics in the first place.

Pretty much every international team would be screwed if that was the selection policy

Becks would probably of been the only reason I actually watch the Olympics other than Bolt and the 100m.
