Why Are We believeing A 45 Min Edit, Thats All Lies With Fake Bull**** Story Editing?

How Can I Truelly Judge Any Of These Housemates?

Why Should I Sit And watch and believe These Edits, This Is Not Whats Going On In The House, Were all Actually Being Mugged off.

You Just cant Tell Nothing All Were Seeing Is 45 MINUTES Of 24Hours a day Broken Down By 7 story editors, Makeing Us Beleave That This 45 mins is the only thing thats happend inside the house, The More I Think About It The more it Drives me insane, Im Finding Myself Feeling Ever More distant From A Show I Used to adore the pants off, as a fan should i really stand for this sort of editing? You Can Allways Tell Theres More To Storys That Go On Inside The House Cause Every So Often Somthing Slips out of a housemates mouth and you go hang on cant remeber that happening, also has anyone eles noticed that half of there best bits VT we Never actually have seen it in the edited show its madness, this is not big brother its edited mess And I cant beleave Were all excepting it??

Well I can say this much:
Back in the olde days the whole hook (and integral part of the story and experiment) was that you could use this whole 'online internets' thing to actually watch them live 24/7.

Anyways, it was often a story in itself. The editing or TV broadcast version compared to what you had really seen going on.
You might follow a HM all day and realize they were reasonably polite, helpful, mostly 'positive'. A seemingly minor disagreement might pop,
but,
in the big picture was quickly cooled, they solved it fast, moved on, were back to hours of good nature fun.

But that is NOT what you perceived on the edited highlights on TV! You could be given the impression this HM's ONLY moment was to kick off on the hapless victim!
Only the bad moment being truncated, zoom on the face,
and,
In the editing they can select out 'reaction faces' that are not quite in real time and of course the dramatic music, etc.

So yes, I think you are right. It is edited and reworked and redrawn in a sense.

But be thankful - the UK version actually stays pretty close to the truth. BBUSA was absolutely terrible for creating what were nearly entirely contrived HEAVILY edited and re-edited and there is reason to believe 'takes' and what are nearly 'scripted lines' etc.

And something about Diary room. I have been told (by people who would know) it can actually be more 'deceptive' than anything when BB would really be 'coaching them' into saying things or doing things.
BB: So .. you have to admit John is a real sneak?
HM: Uh.. well.. some would say he is a sneak I guess.. i didnt say that
BB: But in the house John is probably the 'sneak' if anyone is?
HM: Well.. i guess he might be the 'sneakiest' character to some watching
BB: So who is the sneakiest
HM: Well I guess, if you put it this way [edit starts] John is the sneakiest person in this house [edit ends] if you are saying what is the 'story' some might get from this.

I'm just paraphrasing an example but you get the idea. You will just know that Carol went to the DR to complain how 'John is the sneakiest one in the house'.

Add to that a selected clip of John (NOT taken at that same moment in time) that makes it appear John is outside the DR with a 'sneaky look'.
Even though that 2 second clip was earlier, was in no context to 'sneaking' and was when he was looking for some pepper in the kitchen. Not 'scheming'.

The majority of BB viewers don't watch the live feeds even if they existed. So all those people are dealing with the edit and making their votes based off it?

iRyan 13-07-2012 03:55 AM

I beleave

Yes, it's hard to beleave but they really are basing it from the edited television program and BOTS clips.

starry 13-07-2012 05:14 AM

I've never voted anyway.

Cherie 13-07-2012 06:57 AM

Its a TV programme, lighten up.

MrWong 13-07-2012 07:28 AM

Channel 5 will never give us the live feed.

This is the BB we have been lumped with.

I'm just glad it's back on TV. :elephant:

CallumJoshuaSturt 13-07-2012 07:43 AM

Good post, and I feel the same, it's why although I read this forum still, I have actually given up on the show for good and will not part with money on votes if I am being manipulated with, with lack of live feeds for me to make at least a good enough judgement of housemates. Plus I miss not being able to just sit and watch live feed whenever I wanted to, not to sit and tune in at a set time for a highly edited hour if we are lucky enough to even get that hour that is. All we are getting really is aftershocks of evictions where housemates will react differently to everyday house goings on.

Vicky. 13-07-2012 08:46 AM

I'm a bit torn on this one tbh...a lot of people didnt even bother with live feed when it was on anyway...and even LF was heavily edited. anytime anything interesting happened we got garden shots and bird noises D:

Would still like it back though

thesheriff443 13-07-2012 08:54 AM

its simple big brother is not real life
its cheap telly so should be treated as such.

waterhog 13-07-2012 09:05 AM

you have to judge on what you see and put a overall picture - ie from what i see of adam and lukeA i can say i feel they are nice people - then i use my knowwledge to no there will ba bad sides to them and what i judge them on is - to the other house mates. so like what i see of shivon is not nice - and i no her other side is even more vile. then you get surround sound image that is fare and equal to all. if that makes sence - maybe i need to stick to my poems.

joeysteele 13-07-2012 09:38 AM

I go with the most part of what the OP has said, in the days of live feed, an argument for instance was seen near in full, yes with sound off a good part of the time but you got the idea of what it was about and who was the main instigator of the dispute also who was the worst offender as to it too.
It was then good to watch the highlight programmes and see just how differently such arguments were presented.

I think it is really hard to form 'correct' opinions of the housemates from such a samll highlights programme each night.

Sadly,it would seem the producers would like some more live feed, the presenters would, the audiences would overall but Channel 5 don't.
We are then just going to have settle for this that we get now although for me, I would just scrap bbbots, have it in on eviction nights for to also talk to the evicted housmates but for all other nights, have another hours of highlights instead.

Yep I think you have a very good point. Sometimes u see a clip of two people the day after broadcast on a website and they are laughing and joking, when u've just seen them want to kill each other the previous morning! Disjointed and misleading sometimes.

Petershaw1984 13-07-2012 02:33 PM

I agree its become irratating

Jake. 13-07-2012 02:35 PM

Personally have never bothered with LF anyways, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Im 100% behind getting it back though.

InOne 13-07-2012 02:42 PM

If Lauren doesn't win then I'll complain about the editing.

Clearly they were setting my HM up for the fall :idc:

coolface 13-07-2012 03:19 PM

one of the reasons why I don't believe deana is as perfect and nice as her fans make out, literally everyone in there is weary of her and aren't particularly huge fans of her, even the "nice ones".

smeagol 13-07-2012 03:23 PM

the editing is ajoke. they have done everythign they could to display conor in a good light. the whole naked thing was a set up to win him votes. manipulation of the highest degree, they missed out too much important stuff and put in silly noncence in its place.
i was thinking the other night how bad it is. shiv is up for eviction and suddeny its the shiveonne show and conor.
they miss out deana dancing n laughin and instead we get a miserable shot. sad.

Cherie 13-07-2012 04:51 PM

well you know what nobody is forcing anyone to watch it, or vote...so I really dont get all the complaining tbh. It is what it is, as long as you know you are being manipulated whats the problem, you telling me Xfactor/IAC etc aren't manipulated? Its TV no more, no less. Im sure if I had enjoyed LF as much as some on here then I might think differently, but all I can remember is birds twittering and aircraft noise, and the camera focussed on sleeping HMs...staying up late into the night watching was never an option for me.

ElProximo 13-07-2012 04:53 PM

When she was comfortable and with a few girlfriends she trusted - Rachel Rice would often be giddy, over-the-top silly, loud and even 'hyper-active' playful,
however,
She would become a 'wallflower' and shut-down and nearly 'disappear' anytime rowdy, obnoxious or even just unhappy types entered their space. (which was a lot of the time).

Your television version didn't show you that part of the story. It sold you an angle of 'fake VT' and this sheepish no-personality goodie.

So yes, it was a little 'deceptive' when you saw there was a bigger picture, some reasons, explanations beyond the selections you got on C4s highlights.

daniel-lewis-1985 17-07-2012 12:10 PM

Why cant anyone spell "Believe" on here?

Patrick 17-07-2012 12:46 PM

Well yeah, this is why I refuse to vote anymore.

It Sure Did, The Iceing on the cake was last week Thought for me, Lauren Was Crying In The Bathroom Toilet, And Luke A Went In To Make Sure She Was Allright, In The Highlights We Were Made To Think She Was Crying Over Becky But When Watching One Of The Online Videos Lauren Was Actually Crying Over How Nasty Shievonne Had Been To Her!!! Foookin Bull**** man.

~Beachbum~ 17-07-2012 02:23 PM

Firstly, can we please stop spelling 'believe', 'beleave'?
I understand your point but I ask you - does it matter that we don't see how the housemates are 24/7, and instead judge them based upon a highly edited hour-long episode each evening? However much we watch them on TV we are never going to know the real them without physically spending time with them. We make judgements on these people just as we make judgements on the characters in our favourite TV shows, whether these are 'reality' based or fictional. Judgements are unfair in 99% of situations in life, so I reckon we should just crack on with it.

DoM-h 17-07-2012 09:30 PM

Cant... take... bad.... spelling.... and... random... capital letters... any... more
