Like Suze, I was also the same as you as to this one too.

jet 28-08-2012 12:41 AM

I was cringing - but I have to admit that Julie's a game old bird. lol

Not so - technically. The guidelines for aging game meat include the following observations:

Although aging meat tends to increase its tenderness and flavour, any offensive taste or bad smell is not a characteristic of properly aged meat.

Vanessa 30-08-2012 10:15 AM

Makes me laugh everytime! :laugh3::laugh3:

realitytvsux 30-08-2012 10:21 AM

Definitely funny but it's like looking at some kind of carnage - you wish you had looked away but it's too late, the image is imprinted forever on your mind.

HBB1508 30-08-2012 10:37 AM

I had to close my eyes!

I found myself covering my eyes but watching through my fingers with my mouth wide open - much in OTT panto style that Julie herslef adopts when trying to signify one of her fake emotions.

kefln 30-08-2012 10:46 AM

Amazing that people approve of a married woman groping a younger man and performing suggestive oral acts in front of him...

There would have been calls for her head had it been one of the younger girls :conf:

Kizzy 30-08-2012 11:20 AM

urgh! :(
someone ban nana from the banana.

joeysteele 30-08-2012 11:22 AM

A bit of fun and saucy fun,(that is all it was), doesn't and shouldn't come to an end because you are 70.
Why should people just because of age be expected to be exempt from some laughs and saucy fun/humour for goodness sake.

Patricia4 30-08-2012 11:36 AM

It was funny good on the old girl.

Good on Julie! Flirting with the sexy young men! I would do the same!

Because there's nothing worse than a dirty old man or woman.

showtime77 30-08-2012 12:25 PM

I was cringing but laughing. I had to look away!

joeysteele 30-08-2012 12:42 PM

People are people and can be capable of having a laugh and fun no matter what age they are,or who they are.
There are plenty dirty young men and women around never mind old men and women.

I just don't get why age is an issue, because she is 70, she shouldn't act like that or have some saucy laughs in life. What an ageist attitude.

I am not ageist, I just don't like that kind of crude humour from anyone of any age.
That said there is being saucy and there is being innapropriate, julie is on the edge imo.
For example the comment she make relating to harveys 'bits' but that seems to have stopped now thank god.

Exactly, she is on TV reality show, she is in the main having fun, doing nothing that is a crime and having a laugh. As you say good on her at least she hasn;t lost the knack of having fun, saucy or otherwise.
If I was one there I wouldn't be offended, even if I was the one holding the Banana.
I would have just laughed along with all the others who clearly saw it for what it was a bit of a laugh.
Like a bit of a saucy postcard come to life.

I couldn't keep my hands off those sexy men! :blush2:

The problem, Joey, is that it's grotesque, so I suppose you're right about the seaside postcard.

I think it's a case of acting in a way that's appropriate to your audience - both the people you're interacting with and, in this case, the wider, viewing public.

As a 52-year-old, I find that I think twice now about doing and saying some of the things I said and did as a younger, more attractive woman. Even though my husband is 15 years younger than me, I don't think I'm sending the right message if I behave in a crude or raunchy way towards him in public.

It'd be distasteful, as it is with Julie lusting over the young guys in the house.

She positively drools over Harvey like a bitch on heat and it's horrible to watch as it doesn't seem natural for a woman who's passed their sexual peak (and function) to act like that. She's like a stereotype of a dirty old man and that's horrible.

I could go with that if she was being serious but she isn't. she is having a laugh.
So I personally don't see anything inappropriate or horrible in what she is doing in the house.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it directly to me and responding to my post though and of course I fully respect the position you see this from albeit very different to my own perception of it.

kefln 30-08-2012 03:18 PM

A 70 year old woman makes sausy jokes with her friends is fine. I doubt anyone complains when she's joking around with Julian.

However she is a married woman. And those men, young men, were hired to do a job on TV. She took blatant abuse of that fact. Had martin done the same to the girl, would people be saying that it was funny? No.

The same woman who was pinching the ar*e of a young model then went on to spend her evening bitching about the "antics" of the younger women of the house.

Double standards?

You're very polite. :)

I think she IS being serious. Yes, she's doing it for comic effect and to pull the focus of attention to herself. It doesn't provoke much laughter for me, but does make my toes curl.

Thank you very much,I try to be polite.

It seems we both have strong differing perceptions of Julie though,I do admit to liking her before she went in to the BB house so am a bit biased I guess.
At least,(since we both see her differently),she does however give those who like her or dislike her plenty to talk about as to CBB.
