She's only 5 years old. :bawling:

Livia 02-10-2012 11:03 AM

You have to wonder what a five year old was doing playing unsupervised. I wonder also whether her parents will get the same hate-filled bile that the McCanns get on here.

I hope she's safe... I really do.

arista 02-10-2012 11:10 AM

Why did she get in a Van?

Whats the Family like?

Was it a family member?

Why Search if she went in a Van?

:(

It was on the news here in NZ, I hope she is ok. I hate things like this.

Novo 02-10-2012 11:29 AM

Hope she is found safe but sadly you hear loads of stories like this nowadays that don't turn out well although it sounds like there were a few kids who witnessed it happen and they say she got into the Van willingly so it's a bit weird

Nedusa 02-10-2012 11:35 AM

OMG this so worrying....hope she's found safe and well

I want to know why a 5 yr old was playing out when it was getting dark, and believe me McCanns have earned every bit (and more) of the doubting they get here and all over the internet, the day they took the 1st penny from the public, they became public property ,and now over £6000 of taxpayers money being spent every DAY ,oh yes we have every right to question them and have an opinion

Awful story, really hope the poor little girl is found
Shocked she was playing unsupervised, but on an article i read it says she was only outside her own house..
Not surprised she got into the van, little children are so trusting :( makes me sick to think people take advantage of that naiveity :(

Gillian-73 02-10-2012 11:42 AM

She's been gone since around 7pm last night, it's very worrying! Apparently people who live there say it's still like the 1950s they don't lock their doors (until last night that is) and kids are all allowed to play out! The important thing is to find her not to judge her parents. Find her first. Is my opinion anyway!

arista 02-10-2012 11:42 AM

Why Search

Find the Van First
how many of those vans are in the area?
(Does a peado live there)

The police will be looking in to that and more.

Makes you wonder if these sorts of communities are not targeted by paedo gangs who are looking for exactly this type of environment where young children are wandering about on their own. I mean honestly would you let your 5 yr old daughter go off on her own....would you !.... would anyone...!!!

I don't have kids, but I have three nieces aged 9, 8 and 4. They would be in bed by 7pm at 5 years old, or at least bathed and ready for bed. Not out on their own playing in the near-dark. I don't believe there can be anywhere in Britain so cut off from the 21st Century that they feel it's acceptable and safe to let such a young child out so late on her own.

I always played outside when i was little. Even after dark. But my older brother was always with me.

MTVN 02-10-2012 12:09 PM

I think it's a bit unfair to jump to criticise the parents when we don't know the full circumstances, ok so maybe a 5 year old shouldn't be out unsupervised but 999,999 times out of a million this wouldn't happen and by the sounds of it they're good parents who will be cut up enough about this without being looked down on for it

Agreed! And most kids play outside anyway. You can't keep them indoors all the time.

She could be anywhere by now, everyone needs to be alert, and fingers crossed she gets found soon.

AnnieK 02-10-2012 01:16 PM

The first 48 hours are usually crucial in these cases so let us hope the police manage to get some leads and find her safe and well....

I am sure her parents are going to beat themselves up enough with "what ifs" in time but right now everyone should be concentrating on finding her and worrying about recriminations and fault afterwards......Feel for them all right now....couldn't imagine being in there positions and hope to God I never find out:(

joeysteele 02-10-2012 03:04 PM

I feel for the family but it is getting really ridiculous now as to how adults leave children of this age to play for long periods and at all times.

All the news of children going missing would have me ,if I ever have any children in my life, to ensure they are safe at all times, that will mean they are at least able to be seen at this age no matter when they are playing or otherwise.

The message to Parents cannot be made any stronger from all the children that go missing, keep them safe and 'you' make sure they are safe.

I have 3 Gillian the oldest is 9 and I would never let her play out at 5 years old and even now she is watched and in bed by 8pm,we had an incident in our family several years ago that made us all highly aware,so I am probably OVER cautious,it is a shame we have to be like this,as kids so love to play and are so trusting, and how awful that they cannot be like that due to some horrible people out there,i feel so sorry for her parents, they must be besides themselves and probably only took their eyes off the ball for a few minutes, that's all it takes.Fingers crossed for thois little one.

Kazanne 02-10-2012 03:38 PM
