Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is on course to become the biggest entertainment launch of all time, according to publisher Activision.

The shooter sequel arrived in stores worldwide yesterday (November 13), having already broken pre-order records at online retailer Amazon and garnered strong reviews in the press.

"From the very beginning, our goal with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was to deliver a new high watermark for the franchise. And thanks to the hard work and creative brilliance of our team at Treyarch, I think that's exactly what we've done," said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg.

"In addition to an amazing and innovative game, we're also proud and humbled to see the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 creating yet another legitimate, pop cultural phenomenon.

"To our millions of fans worldwide, who have driven everything from pre-orders to YouTube views, to midnight lines outside of stores worldwide to new levels, we just want to say, thank you. You are the best fan base in the world, and the unprecedented thrill ride that is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is all for you."

Bookmakers including Paddy Power and Ladbrokes recently tipped Black Ops 2 to become this year's Christmas bestseller, outperforming the likes of FIFA 13 and Halo 4 in the process.

"From day one, we've pushed ourselves to make the best gaming experience of our lives and I am so incredibly proud with what this team has created with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2," said Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia.

"Our vision has been to deliver the complete package - something for every type of player. Beginning with the single player campaign, Treyarch introduces things that you've never seen in the Call of Duty franchise before, like branching storylines, non-linear missions and customising player load outs; or multiplayer, where we've re-written the rules."

Black Ops 2 is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC worldwide now, and on Wii U from November 18 in North America and November 30 in Europe.
Getting it later. :)

It's worth it :)

Me. I Am Salman 14-11-2012 11:29 AM

overrated.

Jake. 14-11-2012 11:32 AM

It's only been out for a day! :suspect:

Novo 14-11-2012 11:33 AM

Most overrated Series ever

Scarlett. 14-11-2012 11:41 AM

Black Ops 2 has actually made some changes to the series and made it less 'CoD' like, so this one might deserve it, unlike the last dozen.

Yeah, online certainly feels a bit more different, and as for zombies...

Brother Leon 14-11-2012 11:48 AM

This is the best cod since 4.

Love the futuristic setting.

Tom4784 14-11-2012 11:51 AM

Ew.

Ramsay 14-11-2012 12:08 PM

Yes its the best COD since 4
Amazing improvement

Jamie585 19-11-2012 07:31 PM

I have loved call of duty from Cod4, but I have to say, Black ops 2 is the worst one ever.

Shaun 19-11-2012 07:33 PM

Waste of money if you ask me :p

Shaun 19-11-2012 08:49 PM

 as long as it's not mine I don't mind

Brother Leon 19-11-2012 09:02 PM

It's not that bad :suspect:

Online was unplayable until I changed settings to search for "Best". Campaign is enjoyable.

Mw3 and Mw2 were much worse. IMO

Iceman 19-11-2012 09:37 PM

its by far the best one since 4...... I love how people man that it's repetitive.....they changed nearly everything in the game LOL I mean theres only so many times you can get shot in the head before it becomes repetitive anyway...

Niall 19-11-2012 09:52 PM

The zombies just eclipses everything else about the game it's really that good imo. :worship:

But from what I've played of it, the campaign seems quite strong this time around. I like the Halo-esque feel that they've given the HUD in the 2025 missions/multiplayer too. It's a nice change from the boring, samey interface that it's had for years.

Iceman 19-11-2012 09:53 PM

The campaign is good if a little short but i'll re-do it on Veteran in a week or so....I like the strike force missions.....also LOL at the little posters in Nuketown....

Niall 19-11-2012 09:56 PM

I don't have Nuketown

Iceman 19-11-2012 09:58 PM

its basically a futuristically done version of the old one but has funny posters all over the place haha

Ramsay 19-11-2012 09:59 PM

The bastards didnt say that Nuketown will only be avaliable for the double XP weekend and then for ''special events''. they sold the game based on the premise of nuketown being for early buyers and you get it for a WEEK!? what cuntssss

Iceman 19-11-2012 10:01 PM

what so its gonna go soon?

Jake. 19-11-2012 10:02 PM

Imma be pissed if it does D:

David Vonderhaar ‏@DavidVonderhaar Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don't kill the messenger. +p

Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.
Sly pricks they never mentioned any of this before the game came out

Where would the code be? I can't find it anywhere.

It sucks because I actually got mine on launch day, so I'm eligible. :bored:

Ramsay 19-11-2012 10:57 PM

Only could get it if you pre ordered, did you pre order Niall?

Niall 19-11-2012 10:57 PM

I didn't. I heard that if you bought a launch day copy then you'd get it too? Must've been wrong. :bored:

Ramsay 19-11-2012 10:58 PM

Well some shops usually dont get enough pre orders so just sell the left overs on launch day so that might of happened for some people

Niall 19-11-2012 11:04 PM

Oh. Ugh. Looks like I'll have to buy it when it turns up as a map pack then. :bored:

Ramsay 19-11-2012 11:07 PM

Will probably just come out around xmas anyway man :)

Niall 19-11-2012 11:09 PM

True, true. I want Nuketown Zombies more than the 2025 version anyway.

Jamie585 20-11-2012 05:17 PM

Servers are bad atm, Am I the only one who was really good at all the others, but is crap at this one? :L It's so different, Still haven't decided if I like it yet.

Ramsay 20-11-2012 05:18 PM

I find it so easy to connect to the core playlists or hardcore ones but i can never find a zombie match ever
