Scariest horror movies?

My mum and dad are away until Monday so tomorrow I am going to get a few drinks in and a pizza and watch horror movies, anyone know any good ones? I bought Wrong Turn and The Hills Have Eyes today but I need some more.

Help mee!

dont like horrors myself ever since i saw the exorcist when i was 13 @ my mates house, got back home and @ the time both the houses @ either side of ours were empty (up for sale) but that day someone had moved in to one of them. Only nobody told me. Ffs i was convinced the devil was in the attic. some people say its funny i just remember it being very scary along with another film called carrie. both old films though.

The Shining is pretty good, Silence of the Lambs too, some people say that's not that scary but I disagree with them

Drew. 01-02-2013 08:18 PM

Oohhhh, Paranormal Activity, Hostel 1 + 2, The Texas chainsaw massacre, The descent, Wolf Creek, The Blair Witch Project and The Strangers

Wouldnt recommended watching some of these on your own tho :p

Are you having friends round or watching them on your own?

Munchkins 01-02-2013 08:23 PM

Last house on the left

Amy Jade 01-02-2013 08:25 PM

I bet they've all seen The Exorcist and Carrie but thank you anyway, haha I used to watch horrors at my friends house too. His dad used to stash them in the meter cupboard and we watched them every Friday. Saw a few classic horrors at his house.

I've seen the Shining and don't like it, TSOTL is amazing though but I'm looking for more jump horrors to get everyone going. Thanks though.

AnnieK 01-02-2013 08:29 PM

Insidious was great for the first hour....then it got a bit daft for me. Thought sinister was good though...

MeMyselfAndI 01-02-2013 08:31 PM

I found Wolf Creek really dull. I thought The Descent was amazing though

Friends, don't like watching them alone. I watched Inside when I was home alone and it's about a girl in a house being watched and I literally stayed awake the whole night with all the lights on.

Hills have eyes and Wrong turn are more like adventure horrors there not actually scary however are very good Wrong Turn 1 and HHE's 2 in particular

Exorcism of Emily Rose>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all those sort of films are **** scary

Niamh. 01-02-2013 08:55 PM

Yeah Emily Rose was good, far more scary than The Exorcist imo

iRyan 01-02-2013 08:58 PM

The Descent [AMAZING]
Martyrs [AMAZING]
Inside (À l'intérieur) [AMAZING]
The Ring
The Shining
28 Days Later
Hostel
Quarantine (or the Spanish version, REC)
The Mist

IMO, you can't go wrong with any of these movies. Hostel, Inside, and Martyrs are particularly graphic and disturbing though so if you have a faint heart then be careful. Inside and Martyrs are French films so they are subtitled, but they are still 110% worth seeing if you want to be truly scared and disturbed.

Anyone who doesn't like The Descent can literally **** off. It's one of my all-time favorite horror movies and i'm a MAJOR horror movie fan. It's very intense and claustrophobic and it capitalizes and so many different levels of fear.

Glenn. 01-02-2013 08:59 PM

If you're on your own, watch Insidious. You will **** yourself :D

I'm watching Jeepers Creepers now, I am alone tonight. I hope it's not too bad. :(

Mrluvaluva 01-02-2013 09:04 PM

REC, The Thing, The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I quite liked Husk too. Hostel was pretty sick. So was The Human Centipede. Psychologically, films like The Shining, Silence of The Lambs, Hannibal and Seven for instance are good, but a film has never made me shi.t my pants for a long time. It's usually the sound that helps for the experience, like having surround on loud. For gore, some 80's classics, like Zombie Flesh Eaters are quite good.

Josy 01-02-2013 09:07 PM

I don't think there's any that are truly scary any more tbh it's mostly just audio scares that they have in them lately, it's still my favourite movie genre but I never feel scared watching horrors these days, apart from IT thats still creeps me out a bit.

Most of them scare the s**t out of me  Especially the Ring, I couldn't even go to the bathroom at night without imagining that girl behind me :bawling:

Jeepers Creepers :worship:

Niamh. 01-02-2013 09:22 PM

Jeepers Creepers actually wasn't at all scary

Amy Jade 01-02-2013 09:27 PM

Not scary? I just had to turn it off because some creepy guy was dumping body's into a tunnel. That's enough for me. I can't cope.

Glenn. 01-02-2013 09:27 PM

That's only because you went to school with the monster Niamh.
