There are quite a few fan made versions hitting Youtube. They are obviously sampled, edited and looped. I love that classic Nile Rodgers guitar sound. Reminiscent of 70's Chic/Sister Sledge.

Shaun 14-04-2013 04:40 PM

Nile  such a genius.

Mrluvaluva 14-04-2013 04:46 PM

There was an interesting documentary about him a couple of weeks ago on the BBC. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Mrluvaluva 17-04-2013 09:37 PM

Full track.

Love it.

Has the official, full version of Daft Punk’s new single finally arrived? There seems to be confusion over authenticity still. Earlier today, Edmonton radio station Sonic 102.9 posted a “radio edit” of “Get Lucky”. The track was pulled shortly thereafter, but now as Dancing Astronaut points out, a Dutch radio station just aired the same version on their airwaves.

Moments ago, Amazon.com posted a listing for “Get Lucky”, revealing the artwork above and a release date of April 19th. The track time for the radio edit is 4:08, which ties in with the track posted earlier.

i'm really confused  i'll wait til they put the video on youtube to d/l it

Shaun 18-04-2013 12:00 AM

probably gonna buy it for real when it's released anyway :p

Mrluvaluva 18-04-2013 12:06 AM

I love the track anyway and it sounds pretty authentic to me. It's not looped like previous efforts and seems to contain all the vocals. I am sure it will be all over the shop by tomorrow.

Tonight at midnight eastern time, we will finally, at long last, get a full, official new song from Daft Punk. As MTV reports and a representative confirms, "Get Lucky", the Pharrell/Nile Rodgers collaboration teased during the commercial that aired during Coachella and "Saturday Night Live", will be available to download at 12:01 a.m.
does sound like these aren't quite official then

Z 18-04-2013 04:22 PM

Well, this sounds good from the preview, I'll buy the full song when it's out!

Mrluvaluva 18-04-2013 07:12 PM

I see the Soundcloud leak was taken down. This was the full track version.

She’s up all night ’til the sun
I’m up all night to get some
She’s up all night for good fun
I’m up all night to get lucky

Z 18-04-2013 07:27 PM

Hope the final version sounds similar, this is a great track. Pharrell and Daft Punk are both criminally underrated.

Shaun 19-04-2013 04:08 AM

full song~

(not an official video but still)

Z 19-04-2013 10:23 AM

Glad to see this has shot up the iTunes chart immediately, it's at #2 atm!

Z 19-04-2013 10:23 AM

Just bought my copy :pipe:

Black Dagger 19-04-2013 10:29 AM

This is...

Hope it doesn't flop s0b.

*mazedsalv** 19-04-2013 01:32 PM

It's #1 on Itunes already!!! and #3 on US itunes :p

Rudimental looked like they would take the #1 on Sunday, but according to the Itunes popularity bars, DF are going to be unstoppable. It is also the fastest single to hit #1 on Itunes in a couple of years I heard. (excluding James Arthur maybe).

Really good song. The disco/funk just reminds me of a mix of the 1970s-early 90s music.

Jake. 19-04-2013 01:34 PM

Really like this :D

Black Dagger 19-04-2013 01:38 PM

OK, well I don't have to worry about them flopping then :joker:

Shaun 19-04-2013 03:49 PM

just bought it

Daft Punk's new single has stormed iTunes charts across the world since its release this morning (April 19).

The French duo have teamed up with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers for 'Get Lucky', which is the first full cut to be lifted from their upcoming album Random Access Memories.

The track has shot straight to number one on the main iTunes sales chart in the UK, while they have currently risen to number three in the US.

'Get Lucky' vaulted to number one in the band's homeland France as well, and has also reached the summit on the Irish iTunes singles chart.

It is currently number four in Germany, number two in Australia and number seven in Canada.

I love this song! I much prefer some of their slower songs (Something About Us, Digital Love) to their classic dance tracks. Great tune.

I love this!!

Benjamin 20-04-2013 08:22 AM

Would be nice for them to get a number one after all these years.

Beastie 20-04-2013 10:21 AM

Groovy song. Hope it gets to #1!

Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' has broken numerous Spotify records on its first day of release.

The duo's comeback, which features Pharrell Williams, has scored the greatest number of first-day global streams in Spotify's history.

'Get Lucky' is the first single to be lifted from their upcoming fourth studio album Random Access Memories. The LP is their first full studio album since 2005's Human After All.

The track also scored the most single day streams in Spotify's history in the US and UK.

In the US, Daft Punk broke the one-day streaming record previously set by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis's 'Thrift Shop'. In the UK, they beat the record set by Bastille's 'Pompeii'.

'Get Lucky' raced to the top of the UK iTunes charts after it was released yesterday morning (April 19).

It also beat the Spotify record in the US for the most first day streams for a song. That record was set by Justin Timberlake's 'Pusher Love Girl' earlier this year.

Will Hope, director of label relations at Spotify, said: "There was never any doubt that the first original single from Daft Punk in years was going to be one of the biggest debut singles of 2013.

"The robots have once again shown themselves to be true innovators, not only with their new musical direction and the stellar cast of collaborators they're working with, but also by undertaking one of the best album campaigns we've seen for some time.

"We expect the album to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, on Spotify this year."

Pretty surprising really, it's been a good few years since their last outing so I was expecting their fans to have kinda moved on or got too old to keep up with new music  glad they've kept their appeal though.
