Is it wrong to feed chicken to birds?
We had some (cooked) chicken in the fridge that was going to be chucked out and gavin has just put it out for the birds..I find this very wrong because its cannibalism if they eat it surely?
Its making me feel a bit ill seeing them eat it too :bored: |
That's grim
|
We had a picnic yesterday and we gave the birds some left over turkey  They loved it
|
You better hope they eat it or you will have all the cats in a 10 mile radius in for it
|
that's how bird flu starts
|
Oh they are eating it..infact we are now bickering on about whether the ones eating it are seagulls or 'landgulls'. Apparently once seagulls come inland they become landgulls? Never heard of this before

Birds hunt and eat other birds all the time.

If you are feeling guilty, Vicky :D chuck some crisps out for the birds, they love crisps.

I was incorrect about the uncooked rice bit as birds eat that apparently (every day is a school day), but I was right about cooked rice. http://www.rspb.org.uk/advice/helpin...ding/faqs.aspx What food is best for birds? Different birds need different foods to sustain them. If you supply a variety of food you are more likely attract many species. Household scraps such as pastry, cooked rice and breadcrumbs are enjoyed by many garden birds. Fruit, especially bruised apples and pears, will be popular with thrushes and blackbirds. When you are buying bird food, try to get a good mix of peanuts, seeds and live food such as mealworms and waxworms. Then you should have something to offer all the birds. Good ready-made mixes should contain sunflower seeds, broken peanuts, flaked maize and smaller seeds such as millet. |
