'I'm man enough to admit that'

Can someone please explain the loving for Dexter on here please? He's alright on rare occasions and does come across as quite genuine, but that is very rarely IMO.

He's tried climbing up every single HM's ass at one point, and he really does go from one person to another, talking absolute ****... Sallie was right

Would also love to know how many times he's said the quote in the title... Far from a man.

Would love him to leave tomorrow, isn't going to happen though judging by the very confusing support he's getting. It's bye bye Jackie after her spat with Callum.

Sally wasn't right about anything for god's sake. The girl's a *****ing MORON with no class, no style and no intelligence!:yuk:
Dexter's a fantastic housemate and has made a huge contribution to this year's BB.
I think he is a good guy who just does and says some silly things sometimes but he isn't in the slightest bit malicious and like he's said right from the beginning, he just wants to be liked which is all most people want at the end of the day.
The majority of the other housemates are so much more bitchy and nasty than Dexter is. He's hardly bitched about anyone, even when he was in the safehouse.
I'd pick him as a friend over Jackie, the twins, Callum, Hazel, Sophie and Dan any day!
A lot of them don't like that he's not a regular, run of the mill sheep type blokey bloke like most of them are. He's a quirky individual and i've always preferred people who are a bit different. If you met all of the housemates in a party i can guarantee Dexter is the one that most people would still remember a month later.

I'm not expecting it but i'm secretly hoping that he'll win this year's BB. I'd love it if either him or Gina won. They're the only two really deserving winners in there this year.

Go Dexter FTW!!!!!!

Vanessa 19-07-2013 04:46 AM

He's been consistent all the way through. He's never dull or boring. Have you haver had an episode where we haven't seen Dexter? Didn't think so! Really nice guy, funny and entertaining. He gets far to much stick now he's being himself. But if he was being fake people would hate him as well. He can't win.

Verbal 19-07-2013 04:52 AM

When he first went in he was the kind of housemate I have always wanted to be in there, anti-wannabe, evil & self centred. Now he's mellowed out a bit i'm liking his genuine reactions to things and the fact that he's not in there for fame but to genuinely better himself in the long run.

First person to use the word 'journey' in this thread gets their very own special infraction that will banish you from all digital communication for eternity.

:joker: He's a nice chap. People will see that eventually. Still very entertaining.

I really hope Jackie goes. I want to see more of Charlie and Dexter. They looked very close on last night live feed. It was sweet. :)

I wish Dexter would get out of Jackies butthole though,It's cringing

I agree, he's more like a Tapeworm than a snake.....

thesheriff443 19-07-2013 06:27 AM

i don't see dexter as nasty, he is mostly a fantasist, lying to himself that he is great with women and has influence in the p,r, circles.

the truth of the matter is he pays women for sex and company, that's where most of his money as gone, people in the house can see despite him talking like a kid in the play ground with bull sh*te stories, deep down he just wants to be liked.

joeysteele 19-07-2013 06:36 AM

I think Dexter has a thing for Dan actually. He had to jump in on the act when Charlie was hugging Dan.

I rate Dexter highly though and hope he is safe however something keeps being overlooked, in the first week, he was put up by the public.
In all the votes they have had for fun as to who the public would put up for eviction, Dexter has I think been in every single one.
Clearly the public are not keen on him either like the housemates for some reason.

This eviction is hard to call really,I am not sure anyone other than Gina of the people up this week are in fact comfortably safe.

Maybe it's because people have different opinions.

Different people like housemates for various reasons.

They find them entertaining, they might see some of themselves in a housemate. Some like the pot stirrers, some like the good looking ones, the controversial ones, the game players. Some people find them hilarious or unpredictable,

There's many reasons people like/love a particular housemate.

It would be a very boring place if everyone like the same housemates.

He's by no means my favourite HM but I can appreciate the fact that he's a great HM.

smudgie 19-07-2013 10:32 AM

He s the biggest wannabeeeeeeee in there.

I am all for game playing as it is a game but don't like his. Shows him to be a right worm, as someone said in a post above, tapeworm sounds about right. :joker:

Vicky. 19-07-2013 10:33 AM

He's a very complex person. I like not being able to predict his next move..he doesnt just act all nicey nice to avoid nominations (generally) though this week he has pissed me off with crawling up Hazels arse, and now Jackies. Though I do think hes only bumlicking Jackie to get into Charlies knickers

His whole backstory is quite obviously completely made up. Which was the original reason I started liking him, just watching him awkwardly try to make out he was some kind of international playboy millionaire was hilarious. The once he dropped the (bad) act, he came across as a lonely man who people had taken the piss out of forever and he just wants to be liked. Which was endearing to me. His reactions to being saved confirmed that he has gone in there for acceptance of who he is. He is always up for a laugh too..for me he is pretty much carrying the show.

His gameplan is dramatically failing. Thats true.

I just hope when Jackie leaves tonight and he can give up on trying to impress her, he gets back to the Dexter that I loved. As the Dexter I have seen the past few days I am not really too keen on tbh.

I can't really add much to that summary as it's fairly spot on, other than without Dexter, this series would never have been as entertaining to watch, he's definitely up there in the top 5 HM's ever!!

Roy Mars III 19-07-2013 11:22 AM

he is everything a housemate should be

Raph 19-07-2013 11:24 AM

Ah that phrase of his irritates me so much

Kazanne 19-07-2013 11:27 AM

I believe a lot of his VT was 'made up' what confuses me is,he seems to be loved although he lied,Callum also lied but he is hated and hounded,so why?

Josy 19-07-2013 11:27 AM

He's a good housemate but I find a lot of the things he does extremely annoying and unnecessary.

For example when Daley called him from the safe house to arrange the Charlie/Callum dinner and Callum asked him whether it was Daley or Hazel speaking on the phone, Dexter replied "I can't tell you that" for no reason at all other than to annoy Callum and it wasn't game playing or anything like that...

Not a big deal in any way at all but that's the only thing I can think of atm to explain the little things he does that annoys me sometimes.

Marc 19-07-2013 11:30 AM

He is the least-manly person to have ever been in the BB house.. even BB9's Luke is more maniler

how do you define manliness?

and what gives you the idea your definition is the correct one

Callum is disliked by the housemates for lying (even though they all do it)

I highly doubt any (or many) viewers dislike him for lying on his VT. After 14 series' of this we know the VTs are usually rubbish

smeagol 19-07-2013 11:40 AM

to appreciate dexter you need to not take him so seriously and accept him for who he is and who hopefully he is trying to be, then you will enjoy the dexter ride in the house

he is a delboy character .it doesn't always go right but its fun watching him try

Kizzy 19-07-2013 11:40 AM

I don't like him at all, and he is a really destructive force in the house as his alliances change daily.
You would think that would be a good thing as it makes the show less predictable, but he is just so totally unlikable.

fingers 19-07-2013 11:45 AM

Dexter has never stopped pushing his wholly false back story in the house, apologising for his weakness in spending a totally fake £120,000 on champagne, his paying for non existent on-call girls' university and living expenses and of course bragging about his fantasy PR "business" if he took a leaf of of Gina's game plan and tried to be himself I could tolerate him.

BTW Gina still clings to her "Rich Bitch" story but in a down to earth sort of way, just allowing the HMs to believe that she lives in the Savoy not trying to ram it down their throats as Dexter does with his fake lifestyle.

CaudleHalbard 19-07-2013 11:53 AM

They should have got Dexter's mum on BOTS while she was still in the country and asked her the truth about his lifestyle.

I note they never ask his so called "friends" who turn up but don't seem to know much about him. ;)

Sallie claimed, before she left, that she knew all about him from Liverpool (where they both live) but in spite of her saying that she would "tell all" nothing ever came of it even though she has had several BOTS appearances.

There is NO WAY that Dexter has any kind of feelings for Charlie. The whole thing is a (bad) ploy of his, executed to try and keep himself in the house. Surely nobody can believe that he's actually being honest about this?? He tried it with Hazel earlier on but got nowhere, so now he's decided that Charlie may serve a purpose for him. I'm not denying that he's entertaining, but he's as false and fake as they come.

bez87 19-07-2013 12:57 PM

I still love the fact Jacke would rather have dexter than callum all because of this stupid VT he did, but yet she seem's to com, pletely miss the fact Dexter has probably slept with a load more girls than that, by paying for it lol how much more of a creep can you get.

I'm not saying i don't like dexter because i actually do like him, just crazy to think, Jackie is like right oke 2 boys, one who says he wants to be a teacher but says he's slept with 200 women, or a Mr Chow (hangover) who ran strip clubs, and pays women to have sex with him. hmmmmmm

This is what annoys me about Jackie, it's got naff all to do with the woman. Charlie should just stand up and tell her to keep her beak out, I would.

Daffodil 19-07-2013 01:19 PM

I have to agree that I cannot understand the adoration of this strange man.

CaudleHalbard 19-07-2013 01:21 PM

Dexter is on a journey, if he is to be believed.

When someone is metamorphosing, they are in a somewhat unstable state.

fingers 19-07-2013 01:22 PM

Did Dexter really say, on camera, (well they're ALWAYS on camera) that he had a "sort of a relationship on the outside but it is pretty new and not really all that strong"??
Paraphrased because I can't remember the exact words used.

That's one of the things I like about Dexter, the way he never gives people the whole story. There always something he's holding back.

I like Dexter but do not like the Charlie narrative that he's trying to get on. He isn't interested in her he just wants a story for the viewers to relate to and get into so if he's up for eviction there are other HM's who are more likely to be evicted. Callum has suss it , maybe even Charlie has sussed why he's suddenly interested in her its so obvious what he's up to.

I hope dexter gets to the final but don't hope he wins.

fingers 19-07-2013 01:32 PM

He's the one who is the most desperate to get his hands on the loot!
