Would you bring that feature back?
It's always interesting just to see who it is each day and as it changes. :laugh:
Can it be brought back?

I'd love to see it back too, but I think it was taken away because people just posted to become 'Member of the Day'. :sad:

Yeah, i remember thats why it got taken off.
I think they should try it out for a couple of weeks or so and see how it goes, if people do that again then fair enough; remove it for good but i think another try can't do any harm, can it? :wink:

Yeah, it was about a year ago now. I know this account aint been here a year so your wondering why i'd know lol but i was registered under another name before this so knew lol.

But yeah, it was good; member who posted the most each day was basically 'member of the day' lol. It was just interesting to see who it was each day and how many posts but people started just posting 1 emotion in each post so they could be it lol so they scrapped it.

Oh, I can see how that would be abused haha.

I would say members should vote for the member of the day but members would vote for themselves, the range would be huge and it'll be a popularity thing.
But it'd be good if people did the most post things properly.

Yeah, it's a shame there isn't a post count and only posts that were actually worth reading were allowed onto the forum lol.

I think this is a great Idea.
Back last year when I posted almost every minute of every day. On BB6.
I was FMOTD.

But it encourages people to post lots to try and get MOTD

so is someoen bring it back

If something like this was to happen, I think it should be member of the week and be based on something someone has done that really stands out or contributed to the forum, that way people want post just to get the most posts.

Plus as it's Member of the Week it's easy enough to be chosen by a mod or something.

Why doesnt it be Member of The Week. And therefore the Mods or whoever, have a week tod ecide based on the posts.

On another forum I'm on they have a system called 'rep'.
This is where people can commend useful posts or posts that they agree with or like, this is done by clicking a button at the top of someone's post (like the quote button).
The person who has been repped the most, can then be member of the day / week. :thumbs:

A website I go on has a system of "Pwnies". Basically you get a "bank account" of something like 100 pwnies to start with. You can donate your pwnies to someone you think deserves them, and other people can do the same to you so you can end up with thousands of them! Every post you make adds a few more pwnies to your account anyhow. It's an alright system, and although it is a bit of a popularity contest that way, you can only get LOTS of pwnies if someone thinks you deserve them.

yes i am a member of a forum that has a shop and you buy things with your points etc and you can donate things to other members its good fun.

Or theres a Karma system thats on a another forum i'm on. where you Exalt a person when you think there post is good and Smite a person when you dont agree with what they are saying.

They should have member of the day with mmark or someone like that at the end of the day to say who has done the best post and make them member of the day or week

Sounds like a nice idea...but it shouldnt be member of the day, it should be member of the week, and it shouldnt be how many posts youve got, because some people around here have soo many pointless posts, so it should be how good youre posts have been, or how helpful ;)
