Dexter Is Disgusting For Using Sam's Hearing Disability Against Callum

That's about as low as you can go. How dare he say that Callum is using Sam's disability against him. This guy is an a-hole. I would have been thrown out of the house for smacking him upside the head. :nono:

joeysteele 27-07-2013 11:58 PM

A bit below the belt I thought too.
I don't think Callum is using Sam at all,I believe he genuinely does like him, a lot.

Videostar 27-07-2013 11:58 PM

Callum might as well pat Sam on the head and say "you are so brave".

Vanessa 27-07-2013 11:58 PM

He was not. Dexter only said that Callum is patronising Sam. Callum treats Sam like a baby and it's not necessary.

karezza 27-07-2013 11:59 PM

Callum is using Sam in the way Rachel Rice used Mikey.

Agreed, but not surprised it came from Dexter.

Speedster 28-07-2013 12:02 AM

Yeah, kind of thought Dexter was really patronising towards sam; he can handle himself, he doesn't need sympathy.

It is creepy Callum who is patronising Sam not Dexter.

Kate! 28-07-2013 12:05 AM

Dexters just looking for absolutely anything to nitpick against Callum and failing miserably. He's just making himself look every inch the cretin he truly is. Let him seal his fate. If its normal noms this week I bet more or less every single one of them nominates him. If not all of them.

Jords 28-07-2013 12:06 AM

I think it was dirty tactics to try and make Callum look bad, really pissed me off.

oh, right. I thought it was Dexter for some reason.

Visage 28-07-2013 12:09 AM

Cheap shot at what is appearing like a lost challenge. Just one of a few reasons why I'm going off Dexter.

Callum lied to Sam about his Friday night reception by the crowd.

Eviction night is always going to be crazy and misunderstood, especially this week when they found out who was really up.

I thought he misheard what reception Sam got.

I'm not saying I'm correct, but more how I understood Callum's comments.

letmein 28-07-2013 12:38 AM

If you want to put Callum in a bad light, fine, but don't dare say that someone is using someone's disability to their advantage, or somehow using it against someone, especially when that's absolutely ridiculous. Callum is Callum. If anything, he's like this with everyone. Like I said, what Dexter said is as low as you can go. This is on national television too. Dexter is very much like Charlie -- a guy who had the inability to pick up on social cues.

Vicky. 28-07-2013 12:41 AM

They made it seem totally out of the blue didnt they?

He said that after Callum spent an hour trying to tell Sam that the other housemates were lying about hearing boos for him. That Sam definitely got no boos at all. That Dexter was getting the housemates to lie about boos..when it was Charlie ad Sophie who were talking about it...not Dexter.

But yeah, its a good excuse to bash Dex, so get on with it ;)

jegmeister 28-07-2013 12:41 AM

He didn't do it (use his disability in the way you describe) - so this whole thread is based on a false premise. Creepy Callum on the other hand frequently patronises Sam for his own ends.

They seem out to get Dexter at the minute. Callum is getting a better edit. I wonder what they are up to?

you didn't watch any of the Live Feed then?

Mitchell 28-07-2013 12:45 AM

Callum genuinely is kind to Sam, Dexter honestly overstepped the mark there.

You should have watched live feed. The highlights distorted what happened.

Generally yes. Last night though, he repeatedly lied to his face despite Sam asking him over and over not to sugar coat it. He then accused other housemates of lying when they told the truth. Then he tried to blame Dexter for the other housemates lying (even though they were telling the truth) even though Dexter had nothing to do with the convo..which was then proved by Charlie bringing Sophie into it. At which point Callum toddled off to the diary room for over an hour.

Sam was really peed off with Callum too. This wasnt shown

The convo was not random, as the HLs made it seem.

Brother Leon 28-07-2013 12:55 AM

What Vicky said. The editing made it worse than it looked.

Mitchell 28-07-2013 12:56 AM

I watched the feed lol

Vicky. 28-07-2013 12:57 AM

Well you know that Dexter had a point then. And that it wasnt as it appeared on the HLs.

Mitchell 28-07-2013 12:59 AM

Dexter didn't have a point lol :p

Using someones disability to try and make yourself look good is NOT cool

Vicky. 28-07-2013 01:01 AM

You dont think its patronizing to take advantage of someones disability to lie to them, even if it is to spare their feelings?

Mitchell 28-07-2013 01:03 AM

Its a natural human reaction tbh

Vicky. 28-07-2013 01:03 AM

Also just so that people dont think I am just taking this opinion because Dexter said it

http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...97&postcount=2

Posted this before any of the LF stuff even kicked off

Brother Leon 28-07-2013 01:08 AM

Don't bother,Vicky. Some just will try find anything to hate on Dexter lol.

You honestly think I'm doing this just to hate on Dexter?

I'm not, I'm saying my opinion, if Dexter and Callum switched roles in this, I would still support the point that Callum shouldn't bring Sams disability into it to try and make himself look good.

My point is, Don't use someone elses disability for your personal gain, I'm looking at you Pwicey

caffacaf 28-07-2013 04:00 AM

I'm sure if Sam felt Callum was patronizing him he would say so, but he isn't he likes him and he feels he is his closest friend in there. As for Callum treating him differently? rubbish, I don't see it. I think Callum genuinely gets on with Sam and sees him as a friend, you can see they actually have things in common.

caffacaf 28-07-2013 04:12 AM

As for Callum and the boos for god sake there was nothing bad there, he either told sam what he genuinely heard or understated it so he wouldn't worry. It doesn't mean he was wrongly taking advantage of his disability. It's the same kind of thing Dan did with Hazel regarding the tennis ball, because he actually cares for him. You may not agree that it was the best thing to do, but it doesn't make him a bad person here because he thought it was right.

Personally I do think Callum told what he heard.

Vanessa 28-07-2013 04:35 AM

How did Callum not hear the boos? They were loud enough. I think he lied.

joeysteele 28-07-2013 09:17 AM

I have liked Dexter so far but have warmed greatly to Callum over the last week.
When has Dexter ever been bothered about Sam before though, I haven't seen much evidence of that until this comment.

To accuse someone of using another persons disability to make themselves look good is a pretty low comment in anyones book I would have thought.

Callum has befriended Sam right from the start and explains all slowly and clearly to him which is clearly what Sam wants too.
Hence Sam's problem struggling with what was going on when Emma announced the twist on friday.
Now there was a shocking thing to do to Sam by BB since not only could he not make it out he was unable to keep up with it.

Callum again would help him with that and okay he fibbed, probably to spare his feelings and Sam has got annoyed at that.
That happens with friends who think they are always doing the best thing but sometimes fall short.
I have been guilty of that with a friend of mine who had a severe disability.

It does not however prove or even hint at that someone is using the disability of someone for their own ends.
Callum has been up for eviction despite his friendship with Sam but Callum is always there for him, always having time for him and really listening to him too.
That is to be admired in my opinion, not derided.

AnnieK 28-07-2013 09:36 AM

Callum is pretty much the only one who gives Sam any time in that house...if not for Callum Sam would be completely isolated.

Callum is keeping Sam to himself. It is part of Callum's gameplan - keep close to a housemate he imagines is popular.

That is totally right, no sign at all of Dexters concerns for him at those times.

100% wrong. Callum is a control-freak. He is separating Sam from the other housemates.
