Best series' to watch and why?

Well I want to start watching the channel 4 big brothers but i dont know whether there is any point in watching them all so could someone be so kind and tell me what are the best series' to watch and why? but don't give to much away thanks:)

Jack_ 24-08-2013 01:37 PM

BB6 and BB7 for sure, start with them

I've not seen BB5 but heard it's good so that's another one to watch

So maybe start at BB5 and work your way through till BB11? Then go back and watch BB2/BB3 if you wanted

Benji_ 24-08-2013 01:48 PM

ok thanks:)

karezza 24-08-2013 01:49 PM

BB1: The first Big Brother is completely different from the others. Nasty Nick is a legend. 7/10
BB2: Brian Dowling's BB. 7/10
BB3: Jade Goody's BB. 8/10
BB4: Worst BB. 5/10
BB5: Fight night. 9/10
BB6: Great cast. Crazy Craig. 9/10
BB7: Tourette's Pete/Poor Shabhaz. 9/10
BB8: Twins/Belo/horrible Carole. 6/10
BB9: House divide. 8/10
BB10 Mighty Marcus/Bully Lisa. 8/10
BB11 Funny Ben/Ninja Sam. 8/10

Roy Mars III 24-08-2013 01:52 PM

i would say watch BB 5 first

reece(: 24-08-2013 01:53 PM

BB6 then BB5 then BB7 then BB8 then BB10

aman201 24-08-2013 01:54 PM

Start with BB5 definitely.

Withano 24-08-2013 02:02 PM

5, 6, 7 and 8 were the best ones. 2, 3 & 9 weren't too bad either. The rest isn't really worth your time.

Benji_ 24-08-2013 02:06 PM

Ok thanks guys i've started with BB5?

Yep, best idea.

BB5 was fantastic.

Jack_ 24-08-2013 02:26 PM

Yeah, your best order would be:

BB5
BB6
BB7
BB8
BB9
BB10
BB11

And then do BB2 and BB3 (and 1 and 4 if you cba)

That way you're seeing the best first and doing it in some kind of chronological order

muchadoaboutnothing 24-08-2013 02:47 PM

BB9 was my favourite with the Head of House and the divided house although I so disliked Luke Marsden but people on here are right - start looking a BB5.

robroy_2000 24-08-2013 03:20 PM

My best was bb1 to bb8

Pincho Paxton 24-08-2013 03:47 PM

BB5 was scary, I was watching it live. I reported it to Ofcom.

Daniel. 24-08-2013 05:59 PM

My personal favourites are BB6, BB7 and BB10 (definition of the word underrated). BB5 is good too but BB6 is far more consistent with a load of horrible yet hilarious housemates which makes great TV. Personally I find BB5 pretty overrated but it's a good place to start. I cant comment on the first four as I haven't seen them.

reece(: 24-08-2013 06:02 PM

BB4 is only good for Tania and Lisa.

spartacus supernatural and game of throne lol

daniel-lewis-1985 24-08-2013 06:25 PM

If you really wanna go back to when it was at its biggest and most popular start with Big Brother 3.

That year 10 million people tuned into watch.

Skip number 4 then go straight to 5,6,7,9,10,11 then Ultimate Big Brother just to cap it all off :)

So yeah start with BB3.

I personally liked BB1 and BB2 but they may be a little dated now.

daniel-lewis-1985 24-08-2013 06:29 PM

So you started on BB5?

Keep us updated on what you think of it :)

Its a bit brutal, violent and pornographic a lot of the time but it was epic.

Even branded "Disgusting" on Sky/BBC news. Brilliant.

Benji_ 24-08-2013 06:34 PM

Well I watched the first few episodes of BB5 and Kitten was just so legendary/annoying, marco reminds me of louie spence and so far my favourite is Nadia! She's so funny

Benji_ 24-08-2013 06:36 PM

Apparently BB7 is ment to be the best?

Jack_ 24-08-2013 06:38 PM

It's usually pretty close between BB6 and BB7 for which is best, I change my opinion on that regularly...atm BB6 just edges it though.

BB6 had a better cast but BB7 was better produced with its twists.

Redway 24-08-2013 06:39 PM

From what I've seen, BB5 - BB7 were absolutely fantastic series although in a way BB7 probably wasn't worth it because even though we had ace moments (Nikki's hilarious diary room entries and all) I remember it attracting a lot of controversy and the producers were afraid to take risks, giving us completely bland housemates a year later. It may have been awesome to watch at the time, but in the long-term it probably did the show more harm than good tbh. It's very telling that 2006's edition was the last particularly popular edition (and even that much of that was for the wrong reasons).

Anyway, it'd probably be something like this:

Spoiler:

  1. BB5
  2. BB6
  3. BB7
  4. BB3
  5. BB9
  6. BB10
  7. BB14
  8. BB13
  9. BB12
  10. BB2

139. BB4

Pincho Paxton 24-08-2013 06:44 PM

Don't forget to watch Princess Nikki as well. That's even better than watching Nikki on Big Brother. It's a bit like Karl Pilkington looking for a job.

daniel-lewis-1985 24-08-2013 06:45 PM

So you've watched the launch night and a few episodes already?

**** me you're in a rush lol.

Samm 24-08-2013 06:46 PM

BB6  my favorite series

BeloTheBelt 24-08-2013 06:50 PM

BB8 had everything.
Hated BB5. Only series ive given up on

Beth. 24-08-2013 06:59 PM

2, 3, 7 and 9!!

Raph 24-08-2013 06:59 PM

BB7 and BB9 because they're just the best in every way, very entertaining and balanced series' with amazing housemates.

It was good until Queen Charley left then it got boring and I hated the Twist and How they added lots of boring housemates

Macie Lightfoot 24-08-2013 07:51 PM

5-7 and 13 are BB at its best. 1 would round out my top five, it holds up surprisingly well

3, 8, 9, and 11 are decent but definitely have their flaws

2 is extremely overrated and literally nothing happens, 4 isn't anything special but it's really not as bad as its rep

10 is an evil BB6 parody and 12 is literally the worst series of anything imaginable

waylander1973 24-08-2013 07:57 PM

For me it's tie between bb1 and bb3.

Nia-96 24-08-2013 08:29 PM

BB5 and BB8 were my favourite

Benji_ 27-08-2013 03:54 PM

My favourite five channel 4 series are BB6, BB10, BB5, BB9 and BB3.

BB7 is always rated the best though by most, so I think you are likely to really like that. I thought the first few weeks were great up until Grace was evicted (even though I didn't her), but I struggled to stay interested after that, but that's probably because there was no one left that I really liked or found interesting, although I was kind of on and off with Richard. On top of that, it came after my favourite of all time BB6 which I absolutely adore, so that didn't help either.

I also wasn't a fan of BB8, as my favourites didn't last very long, so struggled to stay interested for similar reasons to BB7.

Loved the first two at the time, but don't like comparing them to later ones. BB4 is by far my least favourite though, but do think BB11 is a bit underrated, despite JJJ taking over towards the end, plus the unforgivable quad eviction mess with vote to evict when it should have been save/win.:bored: It had some great housemates that should have lasted a lot longer though or not decided to walk.:(

If I'd never seen them, personally I would watch them all in the correct order of 1-11, being the bit of obsessive compulsive person I am with certain things like this.
