Childhood sweets

What sweets can you remember being around when you were a kid?

We had the great penny sweets (how I miss those) but I also remember these being massive choices for kids when i was one:

This came with a sweet iirc (my sisters had so many of these).

Strawberry whips. The full 1 metre ones that you tie around your belt at school and chew on them all day.

Every now and then I go on eBay and buy a box for old times sakes.

Shut up they were around in the 80's/90's

And if I'm 60 then you must be 58 since I'm only a couple of years older than you :idc:

There were these fizzy hard boiled sweets. The same texture as the colour polos.

They were coin shaped and they were delicious. I can't remember what they are called. There was a strawberry flavour and a coke flavoured one in the pack.

Those chocolate cigarettes.

There would be an outcry if candy cigarettes were introduced today. I used to get something similar to these above, and pretend to smoke with them, copying my peers. Moved onto the real thing when I was eight.

Benjamin 19-09-2013 12:52 AM

I remember them, I also remember how cool I felt when I had them thinking I was like the big kids.

Kizzy 19-09-2013 12:57 AM

Milk flavour mojos mmmmm
sherbert pips
hubba bubba (original) NOT disgusting strawberry flavour
fruit trillions

Benjamin 19-09-2013 01:19 AM

I have to throw this out there, but Toffee Crumble = life.

Kizzy 19-09-2013 01:26 AM

Nutty bars were lovely, fudge with roasted peanuts stuck on it :)
yankees, nougaty stuff with chocolate on.
Strypers, five fruity flavours in one bar.
pacers, like starburst but minty.
Spangles, all different flavoured boiled sweets.
toffos, original and assorted flavours.
Aw... lots of my faves were discontinued :(

There's a shop here that still sells all the sweets in the plastic tubs. I get Toffee Crumble everytime I go in there

Benjamin 19-09-2013 01:41 AM

Toffee Crumble is honestly the best thing in the world. I wish I had some right now. :(

Kizzy 19-09-2013 01:41 AM

I loved the white sweet cigs too, they used to have a red bit on the end but some complained so they took it off.

Glenn. 19-09-2013 01:41 AM

I'm going to get some tomorrow :amazed:

Benjamin 19-09-2013 01:43 AM

Bloody complainers ruin all the good things. The *****.
