Wasn't really sure what to put as the thread title but...

Is there any tastes/flavours you like but don't like the actual item they are named after or taste like or vice versa?

An example of what I mean:

I love mushrooms but mushroom soup makes me feel ill

I hate prawn cocktail but like prawn cocktail flavoured crisps

I like smoked bacon but can't eat smokey bacon crisps...

I like Bananas but don't like Banana milkshakes

Gonna be honest, I read those first two lines, they confused me, and I couldn't then be bothered to read it again, and so I didn't read your thread

Same re: prawn cocktail crisps.

Also, I love pickled onions but hate all other kinds (unless they're a very small part of a sauce/salsa/etc.)

Can't think of any others.

I dislike any so-called "flavoured" crisps, crisps should taste like POTATOES!

The absolute best tasting ones at the moment are "Ruffles" by Walkers, but I only buy them when Asda has them on at half price, which is about every 3 weeks.

I like strawberries but don't like strawberry flavoured stuff.

Yeah they kinda do I suppose.

I remembered another one, coffee makes me feel sick even the smell of it but I quite like coffee chocolates.

Yes I am another who likes prawn cocktail crisp.

Tomato soup is another, I hate tomatoes but I could eat Heinz soup all day long if you let me.

Who remembers tomato ketchup flavoured walkers? amazing

I hate tomatoes on their own in any form apart from ketchup

I like Chicken But I won't eat anything that is laughingly called "chopped and shaped" or reformed, both are euphemisms for Minced or even worse "mechanically recovered" which is a euphemism for "SLURRY"

I love fish fingers, but am not a fan of fish. :laugh: I don't like anything too fishy. If that makes sense?

I guess I just hate all the natural stuff and love all the flavoured crap that's bad for you

I hate dark chocolate and not really fussed on mints....but love After Eights

I don't eat meat, but I eat meat flavoured crisps.

Hate prawns (and anything from the sea) but seriously adore prawn crackers

I don't like tomatoes but I love tomato sauce, flavoured crisps and I'll even eat them cooked.
I don't like cooked onions but I don't mind raw ones.

hate tomatoes but love tomato sauce, tomato soup and tomato sauce flavour crips. like burgers but not steak as well.

I used to hate Mushrooms, now I like them but same as you hate Mushroom soup. I love cherry flavoured things but not really a fan of Cherrys.

I love the taste of vanilla but the smell of vanilla candles makes me nauseated.

Love chocolate but not chocolate ice cream

Like apples but hate apple pie. Hate mushrooms but like chicken & mushroom pot noodles

I love fruit and tea but hate fruit teas.

I love fresh tomatoes ,(eat them like apples)but don't like Ketchup or tomatoey sauces,or baked beans.

..also, don't like toffee flavour in cakes/puddings/ice cream etc but like toffees...

Oh carrots are another thing.

Love a bit of raw carrot, cooked are too soggy and horrible nope.

this is the opposite for me. I love roasted carrots :hugesmile:.

generally carrots are a bit pointless and bland in whatever form
