Does water taste like nothing?

So this is a debate i've had many times, i LOVE drinking water, especially ice water, but everyone i know says water tastes like nothing. They don't like drinking it.

Do you think water tastes like nothing? I think water tastes like water, and I think it's delicious. People think i'm crazy for loving to drink water, but i can't help it, i love drinking water.

Do you drink plain water? Do you think it has a taste?

Drew. 23-10-2013 01:12 AM

i drink cold water all the time, it's definitely my favourite drink.. i dont even know why. I dont think it tastes like anything though, but there's something nice and refreshing about drinking it ice cold that you dont get with other drinks.

Sophiee 23-10-2013 01:40 AM

I don't think it exactly has a flavour but it's my favourite drink especially ice cold.

King Gizzard 23-10-2013 01:42 AM

Tap water - horrible, and water generally is a bit boring, so I mostly get flavoured waster.. But there is nothing better when you're dehydrated then ice cold water on it's own..I need a water cooler for christmas

Water tastes like the earth to me, like minerals.

Marsh. 23-10-2013 02:31 AM

Yeah, I wouldn't say it tastes of anything.

But there's nothing like water to quench my thirst. But, as humans we can't live without it so I don't get those who say they don't like it. Our bodies want and need water.

mizzy25 23-10-2013 08:04 AM

it has no taste and it actually makes me more thirsty than I was before I drank it.

Tastes like the earth? Jesus Christ. You'll be singing Joy to the world and ringing bells next.

I only really ever drink water.. I don't drink fizzy drinks or even diluting juice. I suppose the taste depends on where you live. The water where I live is perfect but I wouldn't even drink the tap water in London.. It tastes like bleach! In the north of Scotland, it tastes like soil/earth/peat.. I'm not sure which, but it's not very nice.

Marc 23-10-2013 08:48 AM

I like water and I drink lots each day.

Whilst we're on the matter; isn't ice cold water bad for you? I mean I like it and I drink it but I remember once hearing it's not great for your body

You could be onto something there, cucumber is pretty much water with a little bit of cucumber in it. Minus a little cucumber and we could indeed have water.

Hah I'm just like Sherlocks assistant Watson!

Don't know really, water can have a taste because different brands of water taste different but I suppose that could be to do with how more or less pure it is

Surely we have never experienced the taste of nothing as since the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago there actually is nothing. Everything is 'something' so if something has no apparent taste surely it is still the taste of that particular specimen?

Its really good and worth the watch. The first season has finished in Murica so you can watch all of the episodes online.

Water straight from the tap tastes of chemicals, pop it n a bottle in the fridge and it tastes better.
We had the water board out some years ago to have ours tested as it tasted as if it had just come out of a test tube.
Was within the legal limits he said, but it tasted okay the next day.
