Is the forum depressing anyone else?

The last few weeks has felt like a chore to come on here tbh. I used to love Off Season but this has to be the worst I've ever encountered while being a member. The flair that made it great is gone.

Anyone else feel that way?

No, not really. But that must be because X Factor is still on.

Kyle 06-11-2013 07:54 PM

I'm depressed anyway so I doubt I'll notice

What's different about it?

Jake. 06-11-2013 07:54 PM

The fact it's pretty dead doesn't help

reece(: 06-11-2013 07:55 PM

It's a shame that the only appeal to the forum at the mo is reading the TiBB BB and playing +1 -1 games. :joker:

If you're not into games or role playing or X Factor it does drag a bit!

No not really, if it was depressing me I'd probably just stop coming on, might annoy me sometimes but no more so than any other year and still find it enjoyable to post

Vanessa 06-11-2013 07:58 PM

There's always something to talk about.

He's been gone a long time. :suspect:

Mods just did their job. It would be disrespectful to those members who were abused.

Different people have different tolerance levels. There's just no excuse plain and simple.

I agree and i'm sick of this discussion coming up every couple of weeks.
I have a feeling some love drama and anything that triggers controversy like this is gold.

This is my first off season? I'd like it to be a bit busier but I like it on here. I'm a celeb starts soon, don't know if that makes it any busier?

Different people have different tolerance levels. I admire your constitution but some people got a right barrel load. There's just no excuse plain and simple.

492 posts, you should be ashamed! Get posting and make this place busy! :joker:

Saph 06-11-2013 08:08 PM

It has been quite boring for most of this year tbh

Shaun 06-11-2013 08:08 PM

Not really, but I was a bit disappointed a week or two ago when nobody was applying for ICB and I was considering jacking it all in together.

I think there're too many members unwilling to do things for the benefit of the forum at the moment... we've lost quite a few members who were willing to run games due to various scandals (Mollie) or a seeming loss of interest in the site (Locke/Novo). Obviously there're still plenty of members putting the effort in but I find it a bit of a kick in the teeth when people complain about how dead the forum is and then don't make threads or posts.

But then it is hard to care about a forum that even the owner doesn't care about, or hasn't shown any signs of caring about for well over a year.

Smithy 06-11-2013 08:10 PM

david and andy are on their honeymoon, give them a break shaun

I'm having problems with my laptop. That is the reasons i'm not taking part in games at the moment. I need to get it fixed.

It's a chicken and egg argument. They don't make threads or posts because they find the place dead.

This is just a forum. I know a few of us have been here for awhile but I have quite a casual outlook on it. Fair dues to those who put in the effort but I don't think it's a prerequisite to have to 'put in effort' and go starting threads and games all the time in order to feel the place has become a bit of a drag. Myself I'm just a poster really.

On that note this is more aimed at previous more obvious examples than your post but I've seen people in the past do the whole "I set up games, what do you do, buster?" thing and I'm just like "pfffft ........ ?". There is something a bit uppity about that mentality I think. If you're a decent poster then you're pulling your weight already, IMO. Extra curricular stuff is not mandatory.

Me? I think it's graaaand, like. No better or worse than the last few off seasons. If less is going on I use the forum less, which is what is happening now, and have more time to do other things in the day. It all works out either way.

S'all good.

What's wrong with it? Is it a physical problem or just operating system prob.?

Jordan. 06-11-2013 08:16 PM

It's fine, people moaning about the forum is more depressing.

Not sure. It works fine for a while, then it gets really slow and stops working. I think there's a component that needs fixing. :(

I have no idea. I'm taking the laptop in Italy. My brother in law can take a look.
