When you're on the bus ...

Or using any other form of public transport, what are your pet peeves? Is it the usual slew at the back blasting loud music, annoying conversations or whatever?

Lee. 30-11-2013 03:11 PM

I don't use buses as I don't understand how to use them.

Marc 30-11-2013 03:13 PM

On a train - people eating smelly food...

smeagol 30-11-2013 03:19 PM

i usually always end up with a weirdo near me -
ignorant drivers
screaming kids
people who get on only to get o 2 stops later- walk you lazy fat ass lol

you get on find a seat and sit down. though careful the drivers can be bit narky when you sit in their seat

Livia 30-11-2013 03:46 PM

I don't really uses buses, but there are things that wind me up about the Tube: people who smell, people who get right up against you (especially blokes who are doing it on purpose), people who try to get on while people are getting off, people who play their iPod too loud so all you can hear is an unidentifiable schhhh schhhh schhhh schhhh sound, people who wear backpacks, forget they have this enormous, ridiculous thing on their back and still try to squeeze on an already packed train without taking them off.

Kyle 30-11-2013 03:47 PM

My pet peeve was young couples would always sit in the seats in front of me when there was room all the way down the ********* bus and for the duration of my journey I'd have two people sticking their tongues in each other's gobs right in front of me.

Marc 30-11-2013 03:48 PM

Lee what lol

Jake. 30-11-2013 03:49 PM

I remember Lee telling us about this bus thing before lol... not much bothers me, I have my headphones in anyway so I just daydream and usually almost miss my stop

Well I don't understand bus timetable, so never know what time to expect it or if it's the right one.. Then I don't know what to say to the driver, what if I don't know the name of the street I'm going to? Will he have patience whilst I describe it? I doubt it. Then getting off makes me so nervous... Are you meant to press those buttons? What if it's not the right place? Are you supposed to walk to the front of the bus before your stop? What if you fall? What if you get to the front if the bus and realise this isn't your stop at all and everybody's looking at you?

It's just too stressful :(

LOL Don't think the better half would take too kindly to that lol.

Harry! 30-11-2013 05:09 PM

Old people thinking they have the right to sit at the front of the bus because they are elderly. And old people who are snobs sitting next to younger people if there is few seets avalible.

Stu 30-11-2013 05:22 PM

There is a very offbeat creature who is on my bus home from work every day. She's about 45 but dresses like a 16 year old and comes plastered in this insanely orange foundation that makes her look like a transvestite version of Taz from wrestling. She goes out to town each night I think to try and catch a shag which is quite sad and I don't think she's all there but she has the single worst taste in music of any person in living memory.

She pumps herself up for the big night out with phone speaker choons of this Crazy Frog type stuff. The lowest, lowest, lowest possible rung of dance music that makes the bloke from Ultrabeat look like some svengali. It's this completely mental 180 bpm noise with scratchy vocals and it goes on and on and on.

One night I want to actually follow her to wherever she goes and see what her craic is.

reece(: 30-11-2013 05:23 PM

Elderly people who push in front of the bus queue and expect you to move for them as if they're vastly superior and smelly people.

To be fair I've seen lots of young fit lads stay in their seats and leave elderly people to have to stand on the bus. It's just good manners to give up your seat for the elderly and I had always considered it an unspoken responsibility when I was going to school and college.

pretty much, although I am guilty of being one of the ones with backpack sometimes. Also people that let their baby play jumanji on the back of your head, plus people that make loud noise with crisps packets and those that slurp their tea loudly...so pretty much everything is annoying really. :D

LemonJam 30-11-2013 06:47 PM

The drivers, frankly.

Omg this mayne. They get on my flipping nerves. I'm all for respect for the elderly but it should be both way. When I have been at the bus stop since 15 mins before you arrive, It is ok for me to step on the bus first if I want to, you do not need to push me with your shopping bag and then get all grumpy as you get on the bus as if I had nerve to not let princess elderly get on first. :bawling: The other day someone was already sitting in a seat and an grumpy older lady just pointed her finger so the person could get up. The person not wanting to make a fuss just got up, I wanted to slap her. Ok I didn't want to slap her but damn

smudgie 30-11-2013 06:50 PM

I have been on a bus once in the past 20 year.
I do like to travel to Whitby through the Esk Valley on the train with hubby to take in the views but otherwise it is the car for me.

GypsyGoth 30-11-2013 06:50 PM

I usually have my ipod on and am reading so for the most part I'm oblivious to all the other passengers. I guess the main thing to bug me would be not having a seat available and the bus being so packed you have to stand close to some stranger.

Yes yes yes!!!!

zakman440 30-11-2013 09:20 PM

Ugh, where do I start:

-I have to get up so early to get on it.
-It's always either early or late
-It hasn't shown up twice before
-It's driven past me and 5 other people before
-The bus drivers are always miserable
-There's always someone right at the back where the heaters are.

King Gizzard 30-11-2013 09:22 PM

tube - obnoxiously loud music, people with prams/suitcases (I know they can't help that..)

bus/train - the obvious one of someone sitting on the outside seat and leaving the one next to the wall empty

King Gizzard 30-11-2013 09:22 PM

i'd ban prams from central london

Natalie. 30-11-2013 09:25 PM

Packed buses, having to be so close to someone. I hate buses fell down the stairs once  and another time fell on someones lap so embarrassing
Only time I like them is if I go on and they're empty

Vicky. 30-11-2013 09:28 PM

When people sit besides me when there are plenty of other seats available :bored:

I usually sit quite near the back too, so they walk past the other seats to sit with me. Maybe I look less likely to dip their handbag or something than other people on the bus

Samm 30-11-2013 09:28 PM

the back on my music

Vicky. 30-11-2013 09:35 PM

Oh..ignorant ****ers with kids in prams that should be walking.

Last week, there was this bitch who had her (must have been at least) 4 year old in a buggy. However the kid was not actually in the buggy..she was walking holding the side, which is fair enough, taking one for if the child gets tired I suppose. However there were 2 other prams (inc me) waiting to get on and the bus only comes every hour. She pushed her buggy on, put it in the buggy bit with the brakes on then went to sit down on the normal seats with her child.

I wasn't having that crap. Ignorant selfish bitch.

So I told the other girl to get on with her pram. Then I got on, folded this ignorant ****ers pram down myself and put it in the luggage bay and sat in the other pram bit. Bitch was too shocked to say anything, which was probably a good thing as I would have told her exactly how I felt and possibly been chucked back off the bus myself :hmph:

oh this too, but in generally everything, using an internet cafe that's empty but someone comes and sits next to you, and in restaurants etc

jackc1806 30-11-2013 09:42 PM

When the person in front of you smells/ has greasy hair/ really bad dandruff ect

Jordan. 30-11-2013 09:45 PM

First off the price, then if there's annoying kids/babies that wont shut up or if the bus is packed :bored:

Black Dagger 30-11-2013 10:15 PM

Screaming children, my only issue.

Oh and the bus I always get to college has this right annoying bloke with the worst voice ever and he's really loud.

Kizzy 30-11-2013 11:52 PM

Surly drivers and crying babies, that said I like the bus... I do my best daydreaming on buses.
My pet peeve is lazy ass mums with buggies, it's getting dark and it's freezing/peeing it down but when the bus stops and there's already 2 buggies on you stand there for another 20mins and wait for another one!!
Just get the sprog out, fold the buggy down and get your cold, wet screaming brat home!
