What's good? What games have you hooked? What do you recommend? Any games to avoid?

I only have Mario Kart and Pokemon X at the moment and I'm looking to expand. I like the look of the fire emblem game I might get that next.

I've heard a lot of good things about Bravely Default if you like your RPGs. Resident Evil: Revelations is also a great game if you don't already own the ported console versions. No 3DS collection is complete without Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the new Zelda has recently been released too. I haven't played it yet but Fire Emblem is often a game that's often described as one of the best 3DS games.

There's also a ton of DS games I'd recommend getting, Hotel Dusk and The Last Window are fantastic games to pick up. The Phoenix Wright games are among my favourite all time game series and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. There's four PW games for the DS which are Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations and Apollo Justice and the newest game, Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies is a downloadable title for the 3DS. If you get them play them in the order I mentioned.

I saw a video about bravely default the ohther day I think. Is that the game that's already been out in Japan for ages but they've decided to port it over?

Yeah, It's meant to be pretty good, I think I may pick it up in the new year.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is a must. It's amazing.

Also Pokemon X/Y

Getting Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for Christmas as well. Loved the first game, kinda creepy but fun at the same time (Luigi's terrified look help out alot.)

I'm so glad I registered my DS and got Mario 3D before Christmas, my sister can't even get on the store :joker:

It's a bloody good game too.

Going to order Fire emblem today and probably Rayman Origins.

What do you guys think of the Mario 3D land if you've got it?

Mario 3D Land is great, Luigi's Mansion 2 is also brilliant :lovedup:

Not played Luigi's mansion but BBfanUSA rates it aswell so it must be good. What's it like Jake?

Oooh I just thought of another game, Devil Survivor: Overclocked. It's rather brilliant.

What's it about Dezzy?

It's an RPG set in Tokyo, basically the city has been put in lockdown because of a Demonic outbreak and you play as a bunch of teens who are trying to survive the lockdown and figure out what's going on. There's a fair bit of choice involved in the story and there's multiple endings so it's very replayable.

I need to get into JRPG's, I played final fantasy XIII on the 360 and the story was a bit over dramatic :hugesmile:

I do like choice in games though I think I'll get fire emblem first, then bravely default then have a look at Devil Survivor.

Should be a decent number of hours racked up on those games

FFXIII isn't the best place to begin when it comes to the FF games, if you have a PS3 i'd recommend downloading Final Fantasy 6-9 from the Playstation store. Excellent games.

I'm downgrading systems this coming year I think I'll just stick with the 3DS and get a wii u for the new Smash bros. and Mario Kart. I hope they bring a couple of final fantasy tactics type games out for 3DS I want I see what I've been missing. :hugesmile:

All of those look like good investments mate. I've only got Pokemon out of those (should have had fire emblem yesterday too but for some reason my amazon order never came) so I can only truly recommend that on playthrough alone but I've got plans to own all of them in the future so I don't think you'll go wrong with any of them.

I got super mario 3D months ago and returned it two weeks later cuz it gets boring quick

I got a 3DS XL for Christmas and I love it a lot I've been playing Pokémon X non-stop and I think I've nearly finished the main quest line I just wow it's all very amazing. :love:

I got my 3DS in June for my birthday but havnt played it that much,

Super Mario 3D Land
- piss easy and a tad boring.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- I got stuck very early on because I wasnt following the story and tasks properly but then over summer I resumed playing and its quite fun, but havnt played it since returning to uni.

Mario Kart 7
- always fun but I prefer multi-player and I havnt set-up online play yet.

New Super Mario Bros
- fun but a bit repetative, only on World 3/4 when I last played I believe.

Interested in buying: Fire Emblem, Pokemon X and Animal Crossing.

Just started up the fire emblem game and it's actually really good. Took me a while to work out I wasn't just a Mage and some of the intricacies of the battle mode but I'm absolutely loving it.

I'm going to start the second level again though cos I was pratting about and left the girl undefended so all the baddies swarmed in and killed her for good. I don't want her to die.....not this early anyway :hugesmile:

:laugh: I don't mind the new ones, I mean Fennekin evolves into Delphox who is incredible. My friend sent me a Slurpuff too as a sort of Christmas present and my god is she amazing like she's one of the best on my team. I did pick up a Pikachu and Squirtle (who's now a Blastoise) for old times sake though.

But yeah I've been playing it near continuously. I've got all the gym badges and I'm gonna start the Pokémon League now. :amazed:

I picked the frog one and so far it's on his second evolution but tucked away nicely In a box as soon as squirtle came to the party. :hugesmile:

Some of these new pokemon seem ok but some of them look like they were thought up in preschool (yes I'm looking at you honedge and metal giant nose robot thing!) I grew up with the original 150 and they will always hold a special place for me :joker:

Me too, I used to watch the original anime religiously when it was first on telly myself. :love: The only new Pokémon that really annoys me is that one shaped like a fucking keyring?! I just??!?

Klefki is pretty good in all fairness.

I THINK the Pokebank is coming out today so if you have any DS pokemon games you should be able to transfer your pokemon from them to X/Y.

I'm so needing it, I have almost 4 boxes full of pokemon.

You can just imagine them running out of ideas in the office when one of them whacks out their house keys and thinks '******* it! I'm tired and I wanna go home. Hey lads how about a Pokemon shaped like a load of keys?'

I suppose it's a decent Pokémon but its design is just a bit silly.

It's so silly I can't get over it. The description in the Pokédex says it threatens attackers by " fiercely jingling its keys at them." :joker:
