Abba BBC4

I loved Abba as a kid, especially the blonde one. Had a huge crush on her.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:02 PM

Thanks! I'm watching it. I love Abba.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:04 PM

I was a 9 year old in 1974, and I watched the Eurovision, as usual, and they were brilliant. So, I was in on the ground floor, almost, although as I've learned tonight they extend back into the 60's.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:05 PM

They're amazing.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:08 PM

I was totally in love with the blonde one. Then they had a load of melancholy songs which played the heartstrings. One really felt involved with their sorrow.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:11 PM

Anna-Frid, or Agneta. The blonde one. I was mad on her, as a child.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:13 PM

Do you remember "The Brotherhood Of Man" ripping off Fernando?

It was called "Angelo".

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:21 PM

I'm really enjoying this. Love all the songs and bits of info. :)

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:31 PM

The Name Of The Game!

One I'd forgotten.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:32 PM

Nice video!

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:33 PM

Take A Chance On Me

These tunes are so familiar.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:34 PM

They always have me up and dancing.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:36 PM

I should be going to bed, but this is too good to miss!

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:38 PM

Abba was massive. They were right up there with the Beatles in terms of sales and popularity.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:39 PM

I'd love to see their musical, Mamma mia.

OK. Just to let you know I'm not a fan of the film at all.
Abba has been taken over by a camp element. I don't like it.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:45 PM

Voulez vous is fantastic!

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:46 PM

yeah, i love this song!

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:47 PM

It does sound like a Bee Gees tune, and Bond '77 from "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:48 PM

I don't know this song here.

Nor me.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:52 PM

Oh i love this song! :amazed:

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:53 PM

1979, Gimme gimme gimme. Knocked the ball out of the diamond again.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:55 PM

I use to think the lyrics were, "Gimme gimme gimme, I'm mad after midnight", so I use to sing to it.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 09:56 PM

This song is beautiful.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 09:58 PM

The blonde on the right is still gorgeous!

Nemo123 27-12-2013 10:01 PM

Well, that was wonderful, and if you missed it look out for a repeat.

Vanessa 27-12-2013 10:01 PM

Agnetha has an album out. She looks good for 63.

I might.

Nemo123 27-12-2013 10:12 PM

I feel horribly deflated seeing Agnetta today. She has just aged lots. I haven't seen her for years and years, because she took herself off into seclusion.
I don't care to see her today. Rather just remember the memory of the sexiest quarter of Abba.

This is one of the reasons they turned down a 1 billion dollar deal in 2000 to reform because Benny wanted them to be remembered when they were young.
