That sounds almost medieval....and barbaric. If they insist on the death penalty, I don't know why they don't hang people there, if done correctly it's painless and immediate death occurs.

The above in the opening post sounds really bad and unnecessary.

It does seem barbaric. I don't know why they can't just put something into their drink to make them drowsy then off them. None of this "I am the Truth and the Life sayeth the Lord", no audience, none of the ceremony... just quick and... gone.

Shotgun to the face would be instant (buckshot = no more head) and would cost what? A couple of dollars? If theyre going to do it, no idea why thry have to have such ceremony around it. silly spectacles like this and the electric chair :/. Big gun, bang, splat, dead.

Surely an Asda bag and some duct tape would be a cheaper and quicker "Air Hunger" method?

I don't want to pay for Brutal Murderers to live. put them in the chair, surely there has to be a drug that can basically calmly lull them into a deep slumber until they're dead right? Or Hell lock them in a Gas Chamber and force Carbon Monoxide into it, that's harmless right?

If they are going to kill someone like that they should give them tranquillisers and then behead them. I think they shouldn't kill anyone though, they should be forced to suffer every day in solitary confinement, eating scraps until the end.

These lethal drugs cost a fortune! Plastic sheeting and a shotgun shell cost peanuts.

I'm sure the cost of any of these methods is pretty small compared to the cost of all the trials and appeals that each offender will have to go through, along with keeping them on death row for god knows how many years before they are finally killed

Put them in a room with the victim or victims family and let the victims kill him. If the victims don't want to kill him for whatever reason, then let him be in jail for life.

If someone raped and murdered my daughter, I'd want to be allowed to kill him myself in any way I wanted to.

They should give more power to the victims.

There was, but it was manufactured in Europe, and because the EU is against the death penalty they are not allowed to sell it in America anymore.
