Ofc Cheryl Cole has been accepted as the new judging panel...

Who will join them?

Pete. 15-03-2014 12:05 PM

Cheryl Cole has reportedly created a new 'mixed category' concept where each judge mentors an act from each category meaning that:-

A judge would get
-A Boy
-A Girl
-A Group
-An Over 25

not sure how I feel about that, suppose it's a change, if they are going to do that then why not all judges have that selection?

i think that each judge will get the same selection to make it fair

Natalie. 15-03-2014 12:09 PM

I like the mixed idea I think

Black Dagger 15-03-2014 12:10 PM

Oh I like that idea. Should have done it years ago.

sorry Pete, I misread your post, was thinking that just one judge would get a mixed selection - durr! (not concentrating).

Yes, I really like it, gives a bit of variety.

yea read it back and it sounds confusing ://

Would be interesting to see how that scenario played out. They're gonna need new ideas to make this series successful that's for sure

Jack_ 15-03-2014 12:20 PM

No no no no no, the categories format is one of my favourite parts of the show so don't mess with it please

Also if they were to do this then the categories would surely have to be named 'Simon's team' etc...The Voice much?

Marsh. 15-03-2014 12:29 PM

I think it's good that they get one each. Usually one or two of the categories are automatically a disadvantage so getting one act from each is quite fair.

Not liking all this "Me and Cheryl" "Cheryl created..." bollocks. Are they licking her arse and giving her a producer credit to lure her back?

they probably gave her 'producer style' role to make the job sound more appealing but she probably hasn't come up with this idea but her name has been added to it to make it seem that way.

Louis will be back let's face it

Headie 15-03-2014 12:41 PM

How will Judges houses work if they have to choose on from each category?

There'll probably be some dramatic lottery style thing where all the acts are lined up on stage after they've been whittled down to the stage where they'd normally then go to the judges' houses... but I don't really think the judges' houses thing can work now, because how can the judge pick the best of the bunch of they've been given a random number of acts and they have to have one of each type? Like say Simon gets given the two best groups but can only pick one, but Cheryl gets the worst two groups and has to pick one... so that just doesn't work. Wonder how they'll do it?

it'll probably the group judging decision at boot camp and then the selected 4 pick their favoured mentor (like the voice) - it seems fair but stolen at the same time :/

That's exactly what I meant. Stroking her ego to keep her sweet. :yuk:

Marsh. 15-03-2014 12:54 PM

Well you could say The Voice stole its central premise from Pop Idol and the X Factor anyway.

Jack. 15-03-2014 01:11 PM

It's been rumoured that the six chair challenge is back this year.

The bit just where the judges choose there six acts for judges houses,

GiRTh 15-03-2014 01:33 PM

None of this matters. Its gonna be 'Ooooooh Cheryl', 'Ooooh Simon' and you all know it.

Where they have 6 spots for judge's houses and decide whether to offer an act one of the spots. If all 6 spaces are filled before all of the contestant's have performed then he needs to swap anyone he wants and take a spot away from someone else.

Was quite cruel instead of just selecting 6 after all have performed.

I suppose that's a bit like the Voice where they choose an act to fill up a limited amount of spaces before actually hearing everyone.

watch from around 3.30

Aargh, I hope this mixed grouping thing is just a rumor. The categories make it more of a competition and is what distinguishes the show from others like The Voice.

Sophiee 15-03-2014 08:12 PM

I actually really like this idea, it makes it fairer since nobody can complain about a certain judge being awarding the 'best' or 'worst' category but I don't see how judges houses will work.

Shaun 15-03-2014 08:14 PM

can just see the judges all shafting the overs if the groups were mixed.

Me. I Am Salman 15-03-2014 08:22 PM

what a pointless idea
it literally doesn't affect the entertainment value of the show whatsoever.

LMFAO's Redfoo (one with the hair) = new judge?

LMFAO rapper Redfoo has been linked to The X Factor 2014 judging line up.

So far only Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have been confirmed for the show, which will begin filming in the summer.

Louis Walsh is widely expected to take up a third spot leaving a big question mark over who will be the fourth judge.

While Olly Murs, Rita Ora and Robbie Williams have all been rumoured, all three are also apparently struggling to agree to a deal with hectic schedules.

According to The Sun newspaper, LMFAO’s Redfood is a “possible contender” for a seat on the judging panel after impressing on the Aussie version of the show recently.

A show source told the tabloid this morning: “Simon wanted to wait until Cheryl was 100 per cent confirmed first, so they could talk. Both of them like how edgy and cool Redfoo is. He makes great telly.”

Cheryl said earlier this week she wanted a “strong woman” beside her on the show, hitting back at reports suggested she wanted to be the only female judge.

“There are people I’d love to join the panel. Definitely a strong woman,” the 3 Words singer insisted. “I’m kind of hoping I don’t have to deal with three guys because otherwise I’ll have no hair — I’ll be pulling it out all the time!”

Pete. 16-03-2014 09:30 AM

also Fergie (of Black Eyed Peas fame) is rumoured to be the 'strong female' next to cheryl - makes sense as cheryl toured with BEP In 2010

Pete. 16-03-2014 09:38 AM

Despite Cheryl Cole's insistence that he won't be on the panel Louis Walsh is adamant that he will be returning along with Sharon Osbourne.

Also Sinitta has been fiercely rumoured to be part of panel this year along with Olly Murs and Shayne Ward for some reason

Natalie. 16-03-2014 09:47 AM

Louis needs to come back

Black Dagger 16-03-2014 10:43 AM
