What's so good about Adele?
 

Hi I'm new :xyxwave:, I thought I'll just go in there and start a hate campaign on Adele (just kidding). I'm just fed up of hearing fastest selling this and breaking records (more like dishes) and I don't get it. Her voice is OK but its nothing spectacular and tbh I prefer 19. What do you guys think?

(btw this most certainly isn't a HATEADELE thread, I'm just curious whether others feel the same)

She's alright i guess not really my scene though

Nothing, her album was targeted at mums and the gift buyers, her performance at the brits just set off a freak anomaly of album sales

She has a great voice, she writes her own stuff and she seems kind of grounded and normal.

I guess I am a few years too late lol, oh well just wanted to get it out there.

She can actually sing and is an alright song writer which is refreshing for the pop chart scene.

What i don't understand about Adele is how did she stay number 1 for so long?! The album 21 has been certified 16 times platinum in the UK alone :omg:

21 is a hit funeral service album, of course it sold well

She's not pretentious. She writes her own stuff. She's normal and has a great voice.

Personally, I've not heard a song of hers or anything about her for a long time so it sounds like you're searching news about her? And are upset she broke records that your fave didn't? :shrug:

She had one or two good songs wouldn't buy any of her albums tbh

Maybe I am being a little unfair but I just think there are more worthy singers/bands that don't get the recognition they deserve. The only adele songs i like are Hometown glory and I'll be waiting.

BUT :laugh: I don't think pulling another talented singer-songwriter like Adele down solves it. :shrug:

If you were annoyed by the talentless members of the industry getting all the attention and recognition *cough*KatyPerry*cough* then it would make more sense.

But then who's more talented than who and what music you enjoy is all subjective, so it doesn't work so simply.

Again agree. Given Adele writes some good stuff but she is so bland and there are a lot of better singer/ songwriters out there who get overlooked. Way of the world though.
