Recieved a call today...

Some of you may remember last year where I was whittled down to the last of the housemates and I pulled out at the last minute. I Recieved a call yesterday asking if I would be interested to do it this year. Not really news but perhaps gives us an insight into how far along the process they are.

I said I'd think about it and call them Monday. I've just started a new job in jan and orderd a brand new car earlier this month so there's no way I could do it this year. Gotta pay the car deposit!

Edit: the title says today, I ment to say yesterday. I'm on my
Phone and Cba to edit it

Me. I Am Salman 27-04-2014 08:32 PM

Do it!!

Sawyer 27-04-2014 08:33 PM

Wish I could man! Too many commitments ATM.

Ramsay 27-04-2014 08:36 PM

GET TO DA CHOPPA

Drew. 27-04-2014 08:36 PM

Whatever happens you'd be guaranteed to make a few ££ from it, they aren't gonna sit around and keep calling you every year.

Kate! 27-04-2014 08:36 PM

:amazed: Tibb would have backed you all the way.

Daniel. 27-04-2014 08:37 PM

Well it's good to know they do pick some people without agents, congrats on getting so far!

Headie 27-04-2014 08:38 PM

Should definitely go for it, may be your last chance to.

True, but I just started a new job, something where I will be progressing. This time last year I was just a Tesco worker. I have a career now, and big brother would just get in the way now.

Ramsay 27-04-2014 08:39 PM

You'll always regret it if you don't. like drew said they won't keep calling

Cheers. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to do it. (See above post)

Couldn't you arrange time off with your employer?

Need to do a bit of compromising and ask for a few weeks off, they'll accept when they know what you'd be doing, Even mentioning it on the show would be a bit of publicity for wherever you're working.

Would of blatantly won in that case, don't we account for 95% of big brother viewers these days? Haha

A bit short notice to ask for max three months off... Plus I'm still on a probationary period

Tregard 27-04-2014 08:48 PM

Out of interest, how did your original interview go? Very confident?

But BB is like a one in a lifetime opportunity I'm sure they'd understand

Samm 27-04-2014 08:57 PM

Do it, even if you're the first to go you will still earn money from it

Jordan. 27-04-2014 08:59 PM

You'll get another job you likely wont get another chance to enter BB...

Kate! 27-04-2014 09:02 PM

You really should do it. And yeah I think you'd win.

Pete. 27-04-2014 09:05 PM

Do it boy :'(

Jay. 27-04-2014 09:07 PM

omg do it, you probably won't regret it. You'll be bound to get more job offers from it!

I was literally just a more confident version of myself. Slagging of the usual towie bimbos and people who have agents. I said I genuinely don't want fame. I literally want the experience, the 100k prize (anyone who says the don't want that is a liar and is usually a telltale sign that they're in it for all the wrong reasons)

It went well and they said I was a genuinely refreshing person to interview. They said they I was someone who they would of expected to interview bb3 and before and I was a rare find for these days.

Huh, I see my own views reflected in those. Makes me think I should actually audition :P

I find getting feedback like this is great from auditions, I've done a few recently and although nothing has come from them, all the producers were very nice and I feel a lot more confident for it :)

So why aren't you doing BB then... you'll never get a chance like this again.

It's funny, Big Brother is a gamble in that it could make you infinitely more employable or infinitely unemployable, depending on your ambitions. That's probably why the casting is so skewed these days.

but you pulled out last year!, can I ask why?

Sawyer 27-04-2014 09:19 PM

There's a whole long thread explaining my reasons I'll find the link to it later. Basically I went into hiding and had meltdown I think about 24 hours in without having a phone and being cut off. If I had that reaction being completely cut off for hiding. How would I cope on the house??

truth is you wont, if you did not re apply this year!, it means you moved on from bb.

daniel-lewis-1985 27-04-2014 09:22 PM

Well if you couldn't even handle the being in hiding just move on.

Nothing worse than a housemate who doesn't want to be there.

Why did you even audition? :/

You don't know how you're going to react until you're actually in the situation. When I applied it was just a mere possibility. Each stage you think naah, I won't get any further. And as you do, you just get sucked in and mesmerised by the whole thing. Once reality hits you and you're there and your realise what you've done, then and only then you realise what it's going to actually be like

I have been there, I got down to the last lot for Teen BB and had call backs for other civilian series.

I understand how you get sucked in and how good it makes you feel when you keep advancing but I was very aware way before the final stages that I didn't want to do it after being in the same room as the incredibley desperate potentials I just knew it wasn't for me and haven't and will never audition again.

I knew I couldn't handle living with those people as I was getting angry just by being in their presence.

Did you honestly not have any doubts until you went into hiding?

Then again maybe im bitter I never got picked but to be honest im glad it never happened and my view of BB isn't tarnished, im a superfan and nothing else.

T* 27-04-2014 09:33 PM

If you don't you'll always regret it! You'll be telling people how close you were to going in... But you didn't.

Of course I had a few niggling doubts along the way but nothing to make me not want to do it. I'd still love to do it, but the fact is of what happened last year and my situation had changed this year.

Jemal 28-04-2014 05:16 PM
