The 15 year old boy is now with Police.

So young to take a lady teachers Life

Ammi 28-04-2014 03:12 PM

..this is awful, I don't know the full story yet but violence in general in schools is really bad, it's not unusual to be hit out at even in a primary school by much younger children...

Ninastar 28-04-2014 03:18 PM

Disgusting. Bet he won't even get life because of his age

GiRTh 28-04-2014 03:30 PM

Yes just last week SkyNewsHD
did special reports on Schools with trouble like this.

Some kids said the 15 year old told them
he was going to do her
but I assume no one thought he meant it.

Good god....just awful.

arista 28-04-2014 03:52 PM

The police have the weapon
the 15 year old boy
stabbed her more than once.

She had been teaching for 40 years
one of the top teachers at that college

Nedusa 28-04-2014 03:54 PM

tragic story, since when did teaching carry that sort of risk.

Perhaps the actions of one seriously unstable pupil but unless actions give cause for concern how can anyone predict this type of attack.

So many do , it appears
for protection.

Reported on Reports this year
On Newsnight and SkyNewsHD

Cherie 28-04-2014 04:20 PM

Poor woman, just going about her job, nobody should have to worry about being attacked at work, never mind attacked by a kid.

MTVN 28-04-2014 04:35 PM

I'm amazed the school carried on as normal for the rest of the day after it happened, dont know how the staff and pupils can be expected to continue normally after something like that

..we wouldn't be allowed to close the school without the authority from the Education Authority to do it but also I think they probably thought it was best for the students to keep busy and have something to focus on...

Yes its was around mid day
but because the other teachers
held that 15 year old
until Police took him and the weapon
they had to carry on.

Some kids can not go home early

Ammi 28-04-2014 06:21 PM

Yes
its a shame the other kids he told
did not get the Head Teacher
he could have searched the 15 year old
and got the weapon.

How awful! I don't even know what to say, it's scary to think that working in a school could prove fatal...

Nedusa 29-04-2014 08:19 AM

Interesting to read about this lad and his background. Addicted to violent video games yet a good student in all subjects except Spanish (why was he taking spanish at that age ??).

Parents separated and in process of divorcing and this lad on anti depressants.

Also he had a long running hatred for this teacher...why ??

Perhaps this very popular teacher disliked this lad also, perhaps she bullied and/or humiliated him in her class you know the sort of bullying where you turn the whole class against this pupil because he is the worst in the class at that subject.

Perhaps she got the class to laugh at her jibes at him. On the day of the attack she had him doing the photo copying, perhaps this is what finally sent him over the edge. It may turn out he had the knife in his locker and retreived it on his way back to the classroom.

It may he only wanted to threaten her or humiliate her in front of the class to get his own back, but due to how long he had taken to do the photo copying maybe she berated him over that also and well as they say the rest is history.

So very sad that a teachers life is lost under such circumstances. I don't know how we can avoid such situations.

Apparently she had worked there for 40 years and was due to retire in 10 weeks.

What do you mean at that age?

I studied spanish in my school from age 11 through to age 16? :suspect:

Spanish and German were the only 2 languages we could choose then at our School..

I would have thought from the age of 14 to 16 he would have had some choice in the subjects he studied as these subjects would be the ones he would be taking GCSE O-Grades in (In theory)

And if we are being informed correctly he hated Spanish (was no good at it) so why was he still taking spanish at that age unless it was compulsory in that particular school.

Me. I Am Salman 29-04-2014 09:07 AM

because taking a modern foreign language at GCSE is now compulsory
and he wasn't exactly going to go for French when the school has made him do Spanish for the first three years

Crimson Dynamo 29-04-2014 09:19 AM

arent all school kids addicted to violent video games?
