Say no to ipads in the big brother house

http://i62.tinypic.com/xol47p.jpg

We the Real Fans Should Say No to Ipads Being Put into the house, where not going to let channel 5 ruin the fundamental rule of big brother (no contact with the outside world) no other country dose this, even america who have a diffrent format, Producers and channel 5 claim big brother has moved on from what it once was and the more outside contact the better, well 69 other countrys air the same format and it works just fine! thats why i call on us fans to boycott the show if ipads appear on Big Brother uk

Jarrod 26-05-2014 05:57 PM

Oh for god sakes... :idc:

They had iPads in the House last year every week for shopping. When they say iPads in the House, they're not just going to let them play on them continuously. This year has a technology theme. They will introduce more technology into the way the show is run, so shopping and tasks. They'll reveal information just like they did last year...

Oh and go ahead and boycott the show and see it crash and burn. You'll end up being responsible for having no Big Brother when the ratings decline.

thesheriff443 26-05-2014 05:58 PM

if you think you have a say in bigbrother you are wrong.

Will. 26-05-2014 06:00 PM

It makes sense for this year becuase it called "Power Trip" that's why it's changed. Next year will be normal as it indicates a "Trip" which is not forever, and it will be interesting to see how the show gets on if there ipads. Maybe there will be more arguments and it will become more tactical and like a games show.

Glenn. 26-05-2014 06:03 PM

Um they were using iPads to do the shopping list last year. Until we know what extent the usage of iPads will mean, I think we should calm down a bit. Let's not overreact.

Josy 26-05-2014 06:04 PM

This is a complete over reaction. No one will boycott the show because of this thread. You are wasting your time.

zakman440 26-05-2014 06:09 PM

Look, I'm pissed off about the new info as well. But I'm not just gonna boycott the show because of it. It might not be as bad as they are making it out to be as well, it could literally only be as part of a task.

armand.kay 26-05-2014 09:47 PM

Gerl bye.

alfiegreen 26-05-2014 09:51 PM

Can everyone just calm down a tiny bit...

Whilst I don't like any outside contact I, like EVERYONE else doesn't know the extent to what they will be used. Also note Emma hasn't said anything ANYWHERE about iPads, she spoke about technology. The Sun newspaper added the words "like iPads"... So lets all just take a breather...

Of course news of iPads in the Big Brother house is sure to cause some controversy, but Emma says that after over a decade on air the show MUST “evolve”

She told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s been on for 15 years now, it has to evolve.

calm down friend it's not like they will have access to flappy bird and grindr

Rob! 27-05-2014 12:34 AM

Let's all remember how well the live feed boycott went.

James 27-05-2014 12:57 AM

Would be best to wait until you see the show before judging it really.

All this reminds of people who judge films based on the trailer, or snippets of info they hear.

Certainly it will be typical Channel 5 Big Brother, but you might end up liking it.

Marsh. 27-05-2014 01:10 AM

God has spoken. :worship:

Edit: James, not Rich.

Videostar 27-05-2014 03:00 AM

If this is true and they get contact with the outside world I hope they get to see BB fans comments about them...there might be some real hate figures in the house and I'd like them to see what I think of them.

Black Dagger 27-05-2014 03:03 AM

Oh who gives a ****.

And it's hardly like they'll have access to twitter to see what the public think of them.

JohnnyBB 27-05-2014 03:29 AM

Oh god the product placement for the tablets are allready in full phase.

Advertising their own show... Shameless bastards. :nono:

BBUKAUSFAN 27-05-2014 07:05 AM

Say Yes to ipads!
Say Yes to outside contact!

:D

BBAuBBUkBBUs 27-05-2014 07:33 AM

Hey would u rather a big brother with ipads or no big brother at all. Lets enjoy it while it is still on a screens

T* 27-05-2014 09:26 AM

What on earth are you going on about? It's most likely to be a giant touchscreen on the wall of the living area, they even said this in that OK! Interview when they compared it with that movie. They may have tablets for shopping and that touchscreen for other things but that is it. Calm down and stop trying to kill the show.

Think this:

Dash Darington 27-05-2014 02:54 PM

As I said in another thread, the US version has done this for years and it's not relevant to the show at all. It's impact is nil. They are required to write a short blog about what's going on in the house and what they're thinking, a bit like a diary entry. That's not even outside contact. The producers MAY also give them generic pre-screened questions from the fans to answer.

This is a 15 minute job that happens once per week and has no impact on how the game unfolds. I agree that it's a terrible idea to let people leave the house or bring outsiders in to interact with them, but this social media chore is a non-issue in my mind. If you're still watching after all the more egregious breaches of the no-contact policy you're definitely not boycotting over this.

That all sounds alright.

I think the fear is they will be able to gain information from the outside which in my opinion is a massive NONO for BB, I suppose some may also be thinking right if we have ipads and social media interaction then what next?

But yeah I posted already in this thread I think, but it's not something I would boycott the show for.

Marsh. 27-05-2014 03:13 PM

I don't care if they are generic pre-screened questions or a blog, it's stupid to me.

The diary room is supposed to be their "diary" hence the name, not typing some crap up.

Why can't these generic questions just take the form of a diary room discussion like it always has done?

Big Brother asks them about the friendships/enemies they make in the house and how the relationships change anyway.

To be fair, it's not that at all.

They had iPads for the shopping last year but did they make a big song and dance about it? No, because there was no need to.

Whereas this year they're emphasising the use of technology for the housemates as well as social media and participation from viewers.

I don't agree it's worth boycotting but it's not as simple as you're making it.

Cal. 27-05-2014 03:18 PM

I doubt they'd give them the iPads to have private conversations with each other, its not exactly entertaining for us to watch them type things into an iPad (when we have no idea what it's about) with a blank expression.

Samm 27-05-2014 04:33 PM

Why are people making this bigger than it is

They won't be able to go on the internet, it will most likely be used to see the other HM VTs or more information about them

Marsh. 27-05-2014 04:40 PM

I don't think anyone's worried about them going on the internet, that's not the point.

The iPad's will be used to give them information, that's quite enough to make me wary.

If it leads to another Jackie/Callum situation I'll smash the TV.

Samm 27-05-2014 04:43 PM

and other thing is Emma was right about what she said in the article that the show has to evolve

For example look at IAC it hasn't changed since it started at look how boring it is now
