Watching BB13 for the First Time
 

So, I just finished watching Big Brother 6! Now I thought I would take on a more recent series (and actually the only season I haven't watched).

I'll update this thread with my opinions as I watch it, along with my rankings for the housemates after each eviction.

BB13 is great, actually!

I enjoyed BB13, bar the fact I lost two of my faves very early on and my two least favourite housemates ever lasted about 6 weeks longer than they should.

I loved BB13, my favourite C5 series by a long shot.

There were certain events that I didn't love so much, but from an entertainment perspective I just loved the series as a whole. Hope you enjoy it, I look forward to reading your opinions as the series goes along. :)

It's a great series, just a shame about some of the early boots

I watched the Launch of this yesterday. The housemates seem like an interesting bunch. I think that Deana's task was quite mean, as that may have put an automatic target on her back for next week?!

I will take a break from this right now as BB15 and job applications are taking over my life right now! Will keep you updated as I watch! :)

Was pondering posting a similar thread haha, going to be watching this series properly for the first time soon.

So far I think I watched the launch show (when it was originally on in 2012, didn't really grab me at the time for whatever reason, then again launches usually don't) and may have watched the first daily episode a couple of weeks ago though I don't actually remember much, maybe I just watched the first 20 mins or so. Was a bit "tired" at the time I guess you could say... which explains the memory loss.

Is this a series that is great right from the first episode, or does it take a while to get going? I've read lots of good things about it so looking forward to getting into it properly soon.

First week was good IIRC.

Chris was getting involved, and some things occurred with him.

Plus, being able to discuss nominations was interesting.

It's at it's best from the start until Caroline's eviction.

BB13 is the best series outside of the trio of BB5, BB6, BB7.

Amazing series! Some people should have lasted way longer but it was such a diverse cast and gave us so many amazing moments. It wasn't a vicious house from the start either which meant the slow divide was fun to witness. Even the bores had truly fantastic moments.

Completely forgot they could discuss noms for a few weeks - I loved that, it made the start really interesting to see how it would affect them and then after they struggled to stop talking about them when it was banned

One of few flaws for BB13 was the punishments, HMs would discuss nominations non stop after the ban and all they'd do is take away their hot water... :sleep:

The biggest flaw was Lydia :( ..

Hated Caroline at the time, but fcuk me she made the house what it was.

Just decided to start watching it properly in the last few days. Loving it now, and only up to the Chris vs Arron eviction, so just getting started really.

Hoping this series stays relatively entertaining throughout as I often struggle to watch entire series of BB from start to finish... BB6 and BB7 are actually the only ones I watched all the way through. (and BB7 I started in 2006 and didn't finish till earlier this year as the last few weeks dragged a fair bit, I'd rewatched the first 4-6 weeks several times with the intent of watching the whole series but always struggled to make it towards the end)

I'm really intrigued to see how people like Caroline, Conor etc eventually devolve into truly detestable characters, as so far I haven't minded Caroline that much and Conor just seems boring/vaguely repugnant without being the complete piece of **** I was expecting... I don't like him or find him an interesting housemate at all, but also he doesn't make me 'angry' the way such housemates have in the past.

Chris is hilarious in a cringeworthy/unintentional way so kind of hoping he stays. I don't think anyone has made me cringe as much as him since Mario in BB9...

The no laughing task was pretty entertaining - the standup comedy bit in particular was one of my favourite parts of any series of BB. So far I think this is my favourite series other than 6, 7 and possibly 9, but leaning towards it being better than 9 overall.
