World Cup: Group D (Costa Rica, England, Italy, Uruguay) [Eng vs Cos Rica, Ita v Uru]

Ryan57 11-06-2014 02:34 PM

Reckon...

1. Italy
2. Uruguay
3. England
4. Costa Rica

Locke. 11-06-2014 02:36 PM

Italy are relying on a pensioner and a mental center forward, have some faith

Ryan57 11-06-2014 02:37 PM

The same pensioner that will piss all over our midfield.

We're also relying on Roy Hodgson to come up with a tactical plan. Hard to have faith in a man who had less know how than a pundit in the Honduras game.

Locke. 11-06-2014 02:39 PM

Henderson is going to destroy Pirlo

Ryan57 11-06-2014 02:39 PM

I look forward to seeing it.

Drew. 11-06-2014 02:40 PM

Pirlo stands no chance tracking back to defend against this man all game.

Ryan57 11-06-2014 02:42 PM

Can't see England beating Italy. 1-1 or 2-1 to Italy, imo.

Hopefully I'm totally wrong and England win the tournament.

Calderyon 11-06-2014 02:51 PM

Italy will defend themselves to the top positions with two wins and one tie, Uruguay has a great offence which will lead them to the second position with 1 definite win, one well fought win and one tie, which will leave England as the grim position of third and a win over Costa Rica and two losses.

Costa Rica doesn´t stand a chance, this group is too much for them. We might see very ugly numbers in their matches. Their stat will probably be 0-0-3.

Shaun 11-06-2014 02:55 PM

we'll draw with Italy, beat Costa Rica and I really can't call Uruguay... 4 points might be enough, though.

Samuel. 11-06-2014 02:56 PM

Italy will flop

England and Uruguay through

Drew. 11-06-2014 03:01 PM

Uruguay are a bit over rated really.. Apart from Godin they've got no real strength in defence and their midfield is hardly filled with world beaters.. We'll come up against a rusty Suarez too playing his first game since his op. Will be a great game against Italy though, two pretty evenly matched sides.

Locke. 11-06-2014 03:05 PM

Whenever Suarez has come back from an injury or long term suspension for us he has just picked up from where he left off

Ryan57 11-06-2014 03:39 PM

If Cavani turns up for Uruguay, which is a BIG IF, him and Suarez together would be lethal.

Brother Leon 11-06-2014 04:08 PM

I'm worried about Godin. This guy has locked down the likes of Messi this season. I can see Rooney/Sturridge struggling with him.

Drew. 11-06-2014 05:22 PM

The state of the pitch we will be playing on

Looks in tip top condition

Vanessa 11-06-2014 05:31 PM

Go Italy! :cheer2:

Ryan57 11-06-2014 08:14 PM

Pitch makes no difference when you play football like we do.

Beast. The rumour of us after Miranda, good defender, but rather have Godin.

Not sure if Durham is a fantastic troll or clueless.

MTVN 13-06-2014 11:47 PM

Everyone seems to know the score..

I was at Wembley when Henderson made his debut vs France, think Carroll was making his debut too, don't think Henderson made another appearance for about two years he was that bad.. How times change.

Locke. 14-06-2014 08:38 AM

Brendan has changed his career, he was trying to get rid of him to Stoke when he first came in but look at what a fine specimen he has created. Pirlo's OAP legs won't be able to cope with Hendo tonight.

Samuel. 14-06-2014 08:45 AM

Had no idea Gerrard's World Cup record was 6 goals in 9 games :worship:

Yeah, Gerrard is a spring chicken too :idc:

Locke. 14-06-2014 10:32 AM

Who the **** do you think you are speaking of our captain like that

Drew. 14-06-2014 06:04 PM

Costa Rica: Navas; Gonzalez, Umaña, Duarte, Gamboa; Bolaños, Díaz, Tejeda, Borges; Ruiz; Campbell.

Uruguay: Muslera; Cáceres, Lugano, Godin, Pereira; Gargano, Arevalo; Rodriguez, Forlan, Stuani, Cavani

Suarez on the bench.

MTVN 14-06-2014 06:35 PM

1-1

Drew. 14-06-2014 06:47 PM

Sounds like Sterling will be starting tonight in the number 10 role

MTVN 14-06-2014 06:59 PM

Sky bet refunding all losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles if Uruguay lose or draw, good stuff

Drew. 14-06-2014 07:02 PM

I need Cavani any time to keep my bet alive

Vanessa 14-06-2014 07:03 PM

Buffon is not playing! D:

Calderyon 14-06-2014 07:12 PM

Wasn´t that handball by Uruguay? Should that be a penalty?

Also Costa Rica has started this match well, good offence and defending.

Brother Leon 14-06-2014 07:15 PM

Roy apparently goes with

Sturridge

Rooney
Sterling
Welbeck

Listening to my advise I see. No doubt Rooney and especially Welbz will be the scapegoats though :joker:

MTVN 14-06-2014 07:16 PM

Dont think the push was as blatant as our comms were making out but can't argue too much with it being a foul I suppose, though I dont think it was enough to cause the Uruguayan to throw both hands in the air at the ball

Locke. 14-06-2014 07:17 PM

There was a foul by Costa Rica that lead to the handball.

And yeah, if the rumoured England line up is true then it's the best we could have hoped for for this game, very quick

Calderyon 14-06-2014 07:23 PM

Penalty to Uruguay. Apparently a rough tackle by the Costa Rican defender.

Locke. 14-06-2014 07:24 PM

Wow.. If that was given for the handball...

MTVN 14-06-2014 07:24 PM

Bollocks
