Ant and Dec Disagree Over Offer For New Series

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/a...-could-3831131

And although the pair both maintain they would never take a job without the other - "There are no solo projects in the pipeline," insists Ant - there is one TV project that could tear them apart.

That would be the offer to be contestants in their own show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

While Ant would jump at the chance to throw himself out of a helicopter and into the jungle, Dec is resolute he won't appear.

"I wouldn't do it," Dec, 38, tells Metro. "I love a bathroom and fluffy bathrobe. Bear Grylls and camping... that's not me!"

Ant, however says: "I'd like to try it. I'd give the Bushtucker Trials a go - but not the testicles.

Marsh. 09-07-2014 10:54 PM

Put Ant in and let Dec present alone. Sorted.

Samm 09-07-2014 10:54 PM

Oh we've got years of it left, it's going to take quite a few years for the ratings to drop low enough for ITV to axe it, they're still hitting 10 and 11 million mark.

IAC is getting boring now, last series was dire and it always follows the same formula (2 camps battle it out a few days, then combine with 2 newbies) and the trials are always the same.

They need to shake it up now and make it more like Survivor

I agree tbh

The tasks last series were awful! The final 3 was awful, it was so boring. The only task I thought was quite good was Roach Trip. It's weird because Charlie Brookes' series was really good in my opinion but this last one fell flat...even with Contraband gate ect.

Marsh. 09-07-2014 11:01 PM

Yep, time to mix it up a bit.

Stick them on a beach next series.

Cal. 09-07-2014 11:04 PM

They must have a shake-up planned-

Has it been confirmed yet if dec is gay? He really gives me the vibes but wants to cover it up by pretending he fancies Ashley Roberts. Anyway on topic neither should be contestants and should always do a great job of presenting it

Marc 11-07-2014 05:54 PM

I wonder which of the two will die first

He dated that Claire Buckteeth for years and years so I don't think so.

Black Dagger 11-07-2014 06:00 PM

Yeah I really don't know how IAC maintained has strong ratings for so long tbh, it's practically all the same now...

2 tribes, they make sure somebody is hated in each so they can go against each other for a few days, then whoever is a knob does the rest of them, the tasks are the same, same old cretins eat testicles and arse. The fact I knew Joey Essex would be championed all last series made me turn off quicker than usual, very rarely I make it past day 5 these days.

They need a strong cast to get me back into it.

Jack_ 11-07-2014 06:07 PM

I really think it's time they had an All Star series of this show

Also Dec's dating his manager and has been for about a year

Headie 12-07-2014 09:25 AM

There NEEDS to be an All Stars series now... it's way overdue.

Sinitta, Helen Flanagan, Gillian McKeith, Katie Price etc.

Strictly Jake 12-07-2014 01:42 PM

I think it's got another 2 years left maximum then they will do an all stars series which will last 2 or 3 weeks longer than a normal series as more celebrities will be put in. Then it will be axed. I don't see a lot of reality tv being around in a few years. I think it will all slowly start dying out. People are getting bored of the whole celebrity culture

Itv would be stupid to axe their highest rated show?

JTM45 01-08-2014 08:44 AM

I'm still *****ing amazed they made it out of The Grove!!!
Most overrated and over-payed pair of boy-men to ever pollute a TV screen!

IAC got 13 million last year, X Factor was much lower, Corrie is normally around 7

Marsh. 23-08-2014 10:27 PM

13 million? D:

Why is it so popular? It was entertaining for like the first 6 years.

I thought BB was stale but IAC is in desperate need of a revamp.

I think it's because (definitely everybody on my Facebook) are like 'omg ant and dec, pisssaaaaaaaa'

Yeah it's their highest rated, X-Factor is a far cry from what it used to be. I don't think I can even name the past 2 winners:hehe:

Jamesy 26-08-2014 12:25 PM

To be fair X-Factor is just as stale and that still gets massive viewing figures. Quite depressing when Big Brother is just on par with them being crap yet has bugger all viewers.

I still enjoy I'm a Celeb, although it really needs a shake-up and some format changes. A completely new camp design would be a start, the past few years the camp has been pretty much identical with no change. No split camps/camp 1 vs camp 2, we've had that for god knows how long and it's so boring to see. The trials get repetitive too, although after 12 years you can't blame them too much on that since it's limited in that respect.

Sadly because figures are so high for the show they will do nothing to change it. Only when figures drop will they be arsed to make changes.

Saph 26-08-2014 12:26 PM

as if they wont present it though.. like what else have they got to do?

I've always thought, Big Brother was one of the top reality shows back in its day and now it gets next to nothing, how have X-Factor and I'm A Celeb managed to maintain such a high viewing audience (and manged to pick up even more viewers in I'm A Celeb's case, yet Big Brother can barely manage 2 million viewers!)

I'd rathered Joey Essex had've won and that kills me to say that as I hate the TOWIE contestants on these shows, but Kian was just a whiny bore.

The only decent contestants from that series was Matthew Wright and David Emanuel that I can remember from that series.

Vincent and Steve...

JoshBB 20-09-2014 11:06 AM

That would be a hilarious series having them two in the jungle.

Come to think of it. I'm quiet surprised that Big Brother never received higher or similar ratings than I'm A Celeb and X Factor back in the golden era of the show.
From BB1-BB7, the show roughly averaged around 4.5M every series, with the exception of BB3 and BB5, which averaged over 5M. But those ratings are still miniscule compared to the 10-13M that ITV shows get, even back when BB was successful I'm A Celeb was far superior in ratings.

Makes me think that Big Brother was never as popular in the first place, but seems like it was when compared to the diminutive 1.5M ratings we get nowadays.

The thing that confuses me most is the reason why BB ratings crashed after CBB5.
The ratings went from 4.6M to 3.6M in two years, then decreased to 1.6M three years later, loosing 3M in four years. Surely those 3M people were not all offended by Shilpagate?

At least it gets over 1M these days, and pretty close to the 2M mark. Although BB14 was extremely close to reaching 2M, all it needed was a higher rated final, I reckon and it would of hit 2M. Shows that we need good series like BB14 for ratings to increase, hence why BB15 dropped the ratings by almost half a million.

It's because of its reputation, it's just the 'trashy' show, and it has been since BB3, although occasionally the press obsession got people tuning in. It has too many 'bad series' and not enough 'good series' to balance out the reputation, and unlike I'm A Celebrity, doesn't have the 'hilarious presenters or tasks'.
