Emma's interview with Mark - at last she shows some balls

Time and again we've seen her fail to put nasty HMs on the spot and let them get away without having their bad behaviour challenged. Think about how she let Pauline steamroller her in her interview and how she went on about Stephen and Kimberley having sex in the house (thereby allowing him to gloss over his controlling narcissistic behaviour).

But last night she got it spot on. She nailed the squirming liar to the wall time after time - every time he tried to wriggle out , she kept pointing out what he had said and done and the inconsistency of it.

We need much more of this from her. Let's hope the interview of Helen is as hard hitting as this.

Raph 09-08-2014 09:57 AM

Agreed. Queen Emma did a stellar job grilling Mark :worship:

Josy 09-08-2014 11:30 AM

Wasn't keen on any of the interviews last night tbqh, far too much time and interest was spent on this recent money task when there was so much more they could have been asking them, they had been in there for nine weeks fgs, Emma also grilled Mark a lot during his about his comment in the DR in regards to the money thing and mentioned that Chris had a hard time etc off of the rest of the house for the same thing, but it wasn't the same thing at all, some bias crept through there imho.

I am normally one saying I really enjoyed Emma's interviews but last night I felt the complete opposite.

JoshBB 09-08-2014 11:31 AM

She was always grilling them, I remember Danielle was especially.

Nope, Mark did not plan on sticking to the pact at all, just like Chris. However Mark was insincere about it and didn't tell anyone that he planned on taking the majority of it for himself. Winston was shocked to hear that Mark was going to take the money in his interview.

Jake. 09-08-2014 12:04 PM

Top interview, she made him squirm :clap1:

Vicky. 09-08-2014 12:06 PM

I think she focussed too much on the money task...I would have grilled him about his treatment of Christopher tbh

MrWong 09-08-2014 12:11 PM

Definitely one of her better interviews.

Did anyone notice the difference in Mark's voice.

He's usually super scouse and drags the **** out of the last word in each sentence but there was none of that in his interview.

I wasn't really taking about what Mark would do with the money, my point was she grilled Mark saying Chris had done the same but was attacked by the house for it yet failed to tell him what Chris actually said in the DR, she also mentioned Christopher defending Chris but failed to say it was for a completely dud reason because we had all already seen Chris admit he would not share the money with everyone...then whilst interviewing Winston she told him about Marks choice regarding the money but not Chris' intentions which is why I think she was selective in what she revealed and came across slightly bias IMO.

JCrow 09-08-2014 12:20 PM

Loved the interview, wanted much more, but I think Mark would have fled, just looking at him you could see he was probably on the brink of doing just that. He knew he was caught out (how could he think otherwise when he knew where every camera was) but still, STILL, did not want to own up to ANYTHING. So sad how he kept looking to his family/friends for help during the grilling. "Why are you letting her do this to me?" Suck it up know because its only gonna get worse from here I think.

For me it was a brilliant interview, if I remember rightly Chris did say he wouldnt have kept the money for himself. Christopher was defending the fact that noone would let Chris, along with others in the house at different times, get their points across. Christopher was taking his own grievances out as well and well done to him.

He was of the opinion that Mark was influenced by Helen. Mark didnt and has not got any feelings for Christopher at all, he was not a good buddy, had he been so he would want Christopher to win. Mark needs someone to be under his total control, Christopher has his own mind.

The anger on Chris' face when Helen kept on and on at him, he tried to get across a point but it wasnt accepted by her but, she accepted Mark and Ash. I have no doubt at all that neither would have shared with all of them, the same as Chris mentioned he would share with Ashleigh and Christopher.

Cherie 09-08-2014 12:37 PM

Mark turned into a nodding dog in his interview

Mick 09-08-2014 12:40 PM

She did give him a hard time and he deserved it but he might have the right to feel a little aggrieved when viewing comparative ones with other EX HMs.

I expected Goode to cop it big time (And on BOTS) but he got off very lightly imo.

So tell it how it is Emma but for all of them.

Kizzy 09-08-2014 12:44 PM

She should have shoved him at the end like he shoved christopher as he left :(

When he realised he had to share his BOTS appearance.. :joker:

His face watching zoe sing at the end... :joker: :joker:

There wasn't anything to reveal about Chris, he had already admitted to the group as soon as Ashleigh went into the diary room that he said yes and had two plans:

1) Stick to the pact and split it
2) Give the money back to the winner

His decision was out there for everyone to see, Mark on the other hand kept quiet and made out he was sticking to the pact 100% like Ash said, and then constantly screeched things like 'My reason is good, Ashes is good but it's Chris' that I carr get on weh' or something along those lines. Mark purposefully painted a target on Chris to get out of having to take any kind of responsibility for his decision or admit it.

For that reason, Emma & BBOTS gave him **** for it, and rightly so. He'd managed to squeeze by the housemates like a weasel without being found out, so when he was outside the house it was only fair he was shown to be caught out by the viewers.

He absolutely shat himself :clap1:

BIRDisTHEword 09-08-2014 01:17 PM

Emma was great last night. Mark was expecting to come out and have an interview about his eyebrows and his 'hilarious' tantrums, instead Emma grilled him and showed him right up.

Rob! 09-08-2014 01:19 PM

When a fake housemate says "I don't know what to say" you know it's a good interview.

daniel-lewis-1985 09-08-2014 01:20 PM

Really because the interview only concentrated on 2 things the money task and Christopher.

It wasn't a fair or balanced interview. He has been in there for 9 weeks and all we got was an interview on how negative his behaviour was in the last 2 weeks.

Did she forget that up until then he was pretty ****ing entertaining to watch and was one of the favourites to win?

I didn't enjoy the interview personally I don't think he really merited getting such a grilling. He was very uncomfortable and I would have liked to have seen more about his relationship with Matthew and talk about the other housemates.

I don't think it was Emma really caring about Marks behaviour either its more to do with the fact shes seemed very grumpy lately like she cant be arsed to be there. You can tell shes fed up with her constant ramblings on BOTS to.

Livia 09-08-2014 01:20 PM

I love Emma, I think she's a really good presenter and comes across as a really nice person. She has a finite amount of time and a set of questions she has to ask and I think she does a great job. She's never going to be able to please all the people all of the time though.

jet 09-08-2014 01:30 PM

It wasn't a balanced or fair interview imo. Mark brought a lot of entertainment and laughs to the show and all that was focused on were the negatives. I felt bad for him.

Yes! He's a professional Scouser from Liverpuwellllll. When he was his natural self (whilst being interviewed) the drawled out end of sentences disappeared and he even managed to call Christopher Christopher instead of Cristo-fehhhhhh.

I think he gave a good performance throughout his stay. However, a performance wasn't really what I wanted to see. I wanted to get to know him not his self-appointed personae.

Nell_McCoy 09-08-2014 02:21 PM

It was the best BB interview EVER I really hope that this is a sign of better things to come Emma could have given Paxman a run for his money last night. Mark deserved every second of it.

Razor 09-08-2014 02:26 PM

Mark was far from nasty.

Jamesy 09-08-2014 02:28 PM

The interviews on C5 have never been great. I don't know who behind the scenes writes the questions for Emma to say or what script they give her but you can tell looking at Emma half the time it's not her interview and she's just going through a checklist of what she's being told to ask via her earpiece.

tanussa 09-08-2014 02:52 PM

generally she doesnt give her preferences away, but I have noticed some biased comments from her on and off thru the series

I agree. I'd hoped to hear him put to the fire about that. He was awful to Christopher and their relationship was far from "lovely"! I thought she did very well on the money task questions, though, and maybe she spent more time there than she planned because he was so resistant.
