Will you say Goodbye BB?

I will. I've had it.
I'm finished with BB manipulating the show to favour a certain HM. I've had it with a voting public that crown a disgusting person as a winner. She proved in her interview she has learned nothing when she blamed others for making her 'kick off' and when she cruelly slagged off Matthew. No need to do either - she had won - she could learn a lot from Ashleigh who was gracious and dignified in her interviews.
That is the sort of person the voting BB public want as their winner, and I'll never watch another civilian series again. I couldn't, as the majority of the voters have spoken as to what sort of person they like - which is the opposite of my views and I can't see it getting any better so I'm not going to even give it a chance in the future. The moral decline is just too much.

To all the people who fought hard to overcome the nastiness and unpleasantness that Helen brought to the house - you did well, and I commend your efforts. Love you all!
Goodbye BB - and good riddance.

In short, no

Long version, of course not

I understand what you are saying, but for everyone there is the straw that breaks the camels back - and for me this year is it.
I'm sad about it - so don't lol please.

Cal. 15-08-2014 11:58 PM

Queen Helen's impact>>>>>

Marsh. 15-08-2014 11:58 PM

No, I'll tune in. But I won't stick with it if it's more of this next year. Really tests your patience these shoddy production choices.

Viacome is taking over C5 next year so there could be changes, you shouldn't leave

zakman440 15-08-2014 11:59 PM

If it's the same as this year next year then yes. Hopefully the new owners of C5 will see BB in a different light.

Tregard 16-08-2014 12:03 AM

Right now? Yes, I feel like I probably won't bother with the next one. I feel like this win sets up a bad precedent and the production is very rapidly becoming a joke.

Come next summer though, I'll probably have written all of this off as a bad dream and be ready for another slog.

Brother Leon 16-08-2014 12:10 AM

I don't get the point of stopping watching because someone I like went out or someone I didn't like won. Let's not act like that isn't the reason now

CaudleHalbard 16-08-2014 12:15 AM

Surely we watch to be entertained, with whoever wins as merely a side issue?

It makes zero difference to our lives who actually wins. It is the journey from the start of the series to the end which is what keeps us viewing.

If you found the series yawnworthy, that's a different matter and possibly a reason to stop watching.

jet 16-08-2014 12:17 AM

I still see it as a social experiment and not a pantomime - so I'm sickened by the British voting public's willingness to buy into the shoddiness and manipulation of the production.

LukeB 16-08-2014 12:18 AM

i hope they come up with better ideas

smudgie 16-08-2014 12:18 AM

No.

I think this year has been very interesting, all the outside influences etc how the housemates reacted to it all.
Not saying I want the same next year, but a good shake up makes for better viewing.

I suspect about 90% of us on here think that!

Rageofangels 16-08-2014 12:22 AM

I won't be watching next year for a number of reasons...

1 - Finals Pass. I think that was an incredibly stupid idea, and it doesn't seem to fit well in to the whole BB system. I don't really like the idea of someone being immune for a week (or two), but for the whole series! It's just annoying in the extreme. Helen should have been voted out early on, and rightly so, but she knew she could say what she wanted and last to the end.

2 - The Changes. One of the things I used to like about BB was the way the HM could come in to the Diary Room and vent a little (or alot). Now whatever they say is played back to them at some point, just to make more arguments. There's enough talking behind each others backs without making it worse!

3 - Bringing Old Housemates in. As has been said, we voted them out for a reason, and once they're gone they should be gone forever. Seeing Steven was testament enough to that!

4 - The Housemates. As has also been said, most of them had some kind of media experience, beit as a model or something on TV. The ordinary Housemate has disappeared in favour of those who are over the top and generally self centred.

5 - Manipulation. The production team seemed to manipulate the situations that arose in the house (i.e. Chris and his fondness of Ashleigh). Some of it was rather distasteful.

BB14 was a stretch too far (although some of it I found quite funny), but BB15 is so much worse that I've decided to call it quits.

CaudleHalbard 16-08-2014 12:24 AM

^^^^^

I do agree with a lot of the above. I just hope the producers take note.

I shall watch to see if they do.

BigBrotherDude17 16-08-2014 12:28 AM

If next years big brother is worse I will defiantly stop watching. I might as well rewatch Channel 4s big brother.

MB. 16-08-2014 12:29 AM

I think it's ridiculous you say that you won't be watching next year because of what happened this year. Sure, the production team messed it up, but there's been more than enough criticism for them to realise that they need to change things and step up their game

Rageofangels 16-08-2014 12:34 AM

Thing is, it's not just this year. It's been getting slowly worse for a number of years. Last year I didn't like it much at all, apart from some of the games/challenges were quite funny. The 'freeze' game was hilarious, and some of the other things were done really well. But this year it took a step in the wrong direction. If this had been a blip I probably would have watched next year, but right at this minute I'm not interested at all.

I've watched BB and loved it since Series 1. Only 2 people have won that I was rooting for in all that time.
I've shouted at the TV all the other times when my fave didn't win, but it's not who wins or who doesn't - that has never bothered me. I've always seen what others seen in a winner even if they not my choice.
Not this year. Helen represents everything that is wrong with our society today and to reward her for that is just horrendous. I won't watch another series because I disagree strongly with the public's decision and if that is any indication of how they chose their winner in future then I can't waste 10 weeks watching something to see if they have regained their senses. I have a life. So for me it's goodbye. With regret.

Helen did all that but not Aaron, Denise Welch, Paddy Gypsy, Alex Reid?

Everyone had their cutting off point. Nastiness, laughing at others and school girl name calling, picking on those perceived as weaker, no self awareness, still spiteful towards others even in victory is mine. I get it if it's not yours.

Robodog 16-08-2014 12:58 AM

BB has always been full of infuriating aspects and moments.

Conor's £50k still winds me up to think about it.

Yet i will always watch BB as there is no show like it. There is no greater subject than people watching and BB lets us do just that, watching human interaction in all it's muck and glory.

And best of all is how nicely long it is, watching events and relationships and egos unfurl over a nice thick wodge of time.

So for all the manipulation and rough justice and the many moments we all scream at the telly (or at each other) - it's worth it for that totally addictive adventure of watching human beings we love and hate slug it out in bizarre circumstances in sunny Borehamwood.

It's the ultimate guilty pleasure TV show and a great thing to share with others across the land and on forums like this.

Dollface 16-08-2014 01:01 AM

I'm utterly disgusted that the public would crown Helen the winner. And i'm disgusted that BB allowed her to get away with things that no other housemate has been allowed to get away with.
IMO Helen was worse than Jade Goody, but remember the hate she received? ..Why didn't Helen receive that hate?
So for Helen, a bully, to win 100k & be crowned Big Brother 2014's winner, just absolutely sickening.

So no i wont be watching BB anymore, celeb BB can do one too.

duclos 16-08-2014 01:02 AM

I was pleased with the winner as Helen did the most to carry the series. She was the biggest character and even though she was a bitch sometimes she does deserve that much. Give it a go next year as there may be changes. If not you can switch off. I for one LOVED this series and DEFINITELY will watch next year!

Firewire 16-08-2014 01:03 AM

No, I'm not bitter... why would I turn my back on a show after the person I didn't like wins? I like Helen, but didn't like Sam or Luke A...

I think Helen's main problem was her aggressive behaviour when confronting anyone. She'd go right up to them and shout at full volume, using as many expletives as she could.

puzzled 16-08-2014 01:08 AM

No way. Each year is different.

Yet you supported Ashleigh.

She slagged Matthew off because he called her a tramp. It was a fair retaliation.

But the knowledge that the British voting public voted for an aggressive, nasty and so un - aware person makes me feel that they have no real values or idea of what self respect is. I very nearly reached the end when they voted the bed pissing, s***ting and booze sodden Charlotte as their winner of CBB - but at least she had a good heart and I could understand it.
Dignity, manners and self respect are qualities to be seen as 'boring' and nastiness, aggression, sneering at those perceived as weaker and explicit sex talk are 'cool'. You can be a nice person with manners and still be entertaining, but that's not want is wanted anymore.

Therefore Helen won. Why would I want to even give another series the time of day? I have grown up kids who watch BB and they feel the same as I do. Disgusted, ashamed and sorry that we wasted 2 hours of our lives every night for 10 weeks watching a farce dictated by a production team to get the outcome they wanted....a far cry from the basic premise that has been going downhill for a long time and has reached rock bottom for me and mine.
If that is what continues to float your boat...enjoy...but it's a pile of mind numbing, contrived s*** and a waste of time for me. Over and out....

Rageofangels 16-08-2014 01:45 AM

:clap1:

Great post

ruiphillips 16-08-2014 02:08 AM

For the first time since BB1 I'm considering never watching BB again. It's awful, such a non-event and awarding awful winners like Helen. CBB will be the only one i'll be checking out.

JohnnyBB 16-08-2014 03:00 AM

There is no next year just cause theres auditions it hasent been confimred by viacom

BeloTheBelt 16-08-2014 04:51 AM

Ive seen every UK BB and CBB and so its kind of in my blood but this one has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth.
Will continue watching...for now
