Shame on you UK

Voted Helen the winner? Is this one of those ironic things? Or is this a message you want to send the young woman in the country that it is okay to be a mean spirited confrontational bitch?

LukeB 16-08-2014 07:04 PM

i back you all the way - infarct i am working on a poem to show my disgust. i will say all these points and about being a role model to look upto.

Jack_ 16-08-2014 07:20 PM

Yeah I mean the winner of a reality show on Channel 5 watched by 1/60 of the population is really a role model and a barometer of how bad a 'state' the country is in xx

Anyone that thinks who wins Big Brother is indicative of this countries opinions or that it sends out the wrong 'message' to people, or that it means people support bullying (when Helen wasn't even a bully) or that the winners are supposed to be role models - any of this crap - needs to turn off the TV and never switch it back on again.

Yes, I'm very glad the public didn't vote Ashleigh and reinforce the bolded message

Yes, while the likes of BB or Geordie shore is on to protect our teenagers. If you think young people aren't influenced by these programmes and their like you need a lesson in the sociology of the popular media.

Given the ratings, not many are watching to begin with so its influence on society is minimal.

Brilliant! Lot of people just judge and don't think, or are unable so they understand nothing. That is what is sad, like for example the way many men treat women...

The influence on young individuals isn't minimal...and individuals mimic that behaviour with other individuals who mimic that behaviour....etc. etc.
It's not just BB, it's in programes like Geordie shore etc too. It all leads to even more of a moral decline. Drip, drip, drip.
That's why Helen is admired...society is slowly but surely accepting a 'bully culture' as the norm.

Why don't you live some where else then? Fir all its faults of which there are many, including our political system, its a lot lot nicer than lots of other places which is why so many people want to live here and that includes me..

Denver 16-08-2014 08:10 PM

Every single viewer has the right to vote for who they like it is nobody elses buisness. If you ask me it is the viewers who digust me some of the comments on twitter and facebook. Isnt it no a crime to send vile messages over social media?

Daffodil 16-08-2014 08:14 PM

People keep saying they voted for Helen because of the 'journey' she has been on. Frankly the only journey she was on was to keep her mouth shut after BB gave her a final warning. I was not at all happy that Helen and Ashleigh were up ther in 1st and 2nd place.
The real winner in my eyes was Christopher and I hope he gets a good job in journalism or the media as a result of showing us all what a nice, kind, intelligent person he is.

I doubt he'd ever be taken seriously enough to be a serious journalist now, considering people saw him lose the plot

I think they all lost the plot at some time.. I can give examples from all of the housemates. Helen was perhaps the worst for being out of control and she bloody well won!

Helen is a successful businesswoman, with her own salon and giving employment to a number of people.

Excellent role model...... what's not to like? :hehe:

...her personality was vile..that's what Is judged...and the public supported a vile character.
Steven is supposed to be successful in business but the public judged him on the knob he was. In the end Helens win was simply a vote against Ashleigh. She wasn't a true winner because of her pass to the final..that's a fact.l

She was a true winner as the public gave her the most votes in a vote to win.

You may not like it but it doesn't change FACTS.

Ashleigh wasn't a very nice person in the house either, another FACT.
