Leslie saying Gary is less famous than Audley

Leslie is an actor, so he should know an American actor Gary is more famous than Audley.

Nell_McCoy 25-08-2014 08:48 PM

It was sheer nastiness just to annoy Gary.

Josy 25-08-2014 09:00 PM

Leslie just done it to get a reaction

Lostie! 25-08-2014 09:03 PM

Yes, but I do think Gary's reaction was over-the-top, and reckon that if a less popular housemate with Gary's level of fame said that, they'd be criticized for it.

Gary's one of my favorites, but I wish he'd just brushed it off, instead of proclaiming how he's "internationally famous". That said, I don't think he intended any arrogance.

smudgie 25-08-2014 09:03 PM

Leslie just got crossed off my favourite list.

He really is a malicious little scrote.
Any chance to have a dig, and all of his waffle to people for his reasons for voting them as well.

Calderyon 25-08-2014 09:03 PM

Just one more thing to poke at Gary.

CaudleHalbard 25-08-2014 09:05 PM

To be honest I don't think anyone in the house actually likes Gary.

He's not wrong though.

CaudleHalbard 25-08-2014 09:12 PM

I'd never heard of Gary before CBB. I'd certainly heard of Audley although I am not a sports fan and have no interest in boxing.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 25-08-2014 09:12 PM

To be fair do many people of this generation really think Gary is a star?

Nell_McCoy 25-08-2014 09:27 PM

I can't believe that anyone seriously believes that Leslie genuinely thought Audrey to be the more famous. Gary's reaction was just what Leslie wanted but it was hilarious I love how totally, unashamedly conceited these HMs are, brilliant viewing.

Leslie is of Gary's generation so the main point is that Leslie picked Audley.

I like Gary.

Did you see Leslie's face before he realised Frenchie couldn't vote him into the Scrap Yard? What a picture:hehe:

He's the most famous of that lot. Has had an amazing career and is still making movies.

delta 25-08-2014 09:52 PM

The opaque queen, you can see right through him.

It's quite a compliment to be pciked by him as the ones he choses he considers to be of the biggest threat to him.

Sneaky little tw@t that is desperate for fame and fortune over here.

CaudleHalbard 25-08-2014 09:54 PM

To be honest I think Leslie is probably better known than Gary unless you follow a certain genre of film.

When people rented out VHS you would see Gary in a lot of the top movies. Plus the best ones have been on TV loads of times. People that missed VHS rentals missed the beginning of the home movie market... which was huge.

hijaxers 25-08-2014 10:02 PM

Leslie was just being a mega bitch Queen - trying to eliminate his biggest rival, no surprise to anyone that has a Diva Queen in their circle

Agree totally with this! Didn't like his reaction but then yeah, I don't think he meant it to be arrogant. It is a fact!

You'd of known him when you saw him though, because he's done alot of films. Quite a few big actors have names you wouldn't recognise.

Unless you live under a rock. :hehe:

I honestly didn't recognise Gary at all :hehe: but had heard of his name. I would definitely know he's more famous than Audley (I'd never heard of Audley either btw).

Gonna go crawl back under my rock now...

Really? It was the other way around for me :hehe: knew his face didn't know his name, but fair enough. Audley was quite big as a boxer though and won gold at the Olympics, but he's still no A-lister.

Ok I feel bad now.

He was brilliant in The Buddy Holly Story.

we know that. But does anyone who doesn't watch channel 5 re-runs know that?

But Pincho is right. Leslie clearly chose Audley just to piss Gary off but of course there is also the possibility he was going by what he thought was true with the British public. Does he think Audley is a boxing legend here?:conf:

Gary was right when he told Leslie to try to win and not to bring people down (words to that effect). Had Leslie been fair in the advertising game and put the right people forward instead of trying to make waves for those he doesnt like, they may have won that task. Well said Gary you had the right to tell him, they all love telling you.

I haven't actually seen the scene yet but I agree, it sounds like Leslie ruined the result of the task all for the sake of being childish and spiteful!

Anothercat 26-08-2014 07:47 AM

I have to say I had never heard of Gary (or most of them) but I do know who Audley is.

Glad to hear even an action movie buff can appreciate Mean Girls! :D I'll let my boyfriend know this... and maybe also remind him Rachel McAdams and pre-surgery Lindsay Lohan are the main characters!

And I must admit I've never seen Clueless which I think is a bit of a sin in the chick flick world.. So ssh!

mrflibble 26-08-2014 03:02 PM

I haven't heard of a single person in the house apart from Gary and I've never heard of any of the shows they're from - perhaps that's because I have no interest in sport, reality TV or whatever else these people are from, and my main passion is film - but it was a stupid decision of Leslie's and once again just showed his vindictive side.

rionablue 26-08-2014 03:11 PM

Leslie is jealous of Gary plain and simple

flamingGalah! 26-08-2014 03:19 PM

I'd never heard of Gary, though I did recognise him when I saw him. I wouldn't say he was a "huge" film star... I think I have seen the most famous films he has been in...

Leslie most probably said it to wind him up, but maybe he was thinking that Audley would be more famous than Gary in the UK?

CaudleHalbard 26-08-2014 03:32 PM

Gary is not in the Brad Pitt league! :D

N'ah, that was funny.

It's great viewing watching celebrities react when someone gives them a knock to their ego.

Gary's reaction was the funniest part of last nights show.
