People only give Gary 5 mins before walking off.

If Gary starts a convo with someone, they usually only give him 5 mins before walking off. At which point he'll go and stand next to some other people who then leave almost instantly.

It's really hard to watch sometimes.

Livia 28-08-2014 12:07 AM

It is hard to watch. And considering the way he's treated, he's very calm and accepting of their rudeness.

jaxie 28-08-2014 12:09 AM

I really don't get why some people say he is rude. He takes all the **** they dish out and thanks them.

jessicadanielle 28-08-2014 12:11 AM

I know when I saw George walk off in the kitchen and he was just sat there alone it was so hard to see! And having James etc. telling him it's annoying when he enters a conversation and can't understand must knock his confidence to engage with others too.

I just really hope it all goes over Gary's head and doesn't hurt his feelings. Sometimes he seems not to take their sh*te to heart but he has mentioned a few times that he's sad that everybody hates him :(

You could tell it hurt his feelings when George walked off :(

Josy 28-08-2014 12:13 AM

Yes it's very disrespectful IMO yet they say he is the rude one?

God I know I just dunno who George thinks he is. From the sounds of it (couldn't quite pick it up) it seemed like Gary was trying to justify why he finds it difficult to follow conversations (which he just doesn't need to to bloody George) and George couldn't wait to get out of there. Simply cannot believe George has any support.

Hope she keeps it up! Edele seems more tolerant of him too.

I can't quite remember but she was laughing with the group about him at one point but I thought she was just kind of joking about his mannerisms rather than "making fun" of him. Hope so! Don't want her on the dark side.

Daniel-X 28-08-2014 12:28 AM

They're very rude with him I think Edele, Frenchy and Audley are the only ones giving him the time of day

Scream 28-08-2014 12:30 AM

I felt sad watching this on live feed but you all still have to remember...why don't they want to speak to him? There's gotta be a reason they are all feeling similarly.

Oh wow really? Haven't seen live feed you see... I doubt it was malicious, she doesn't seem the type and 'snide' is a pretty condemning word. You sure she was that bad?

Some of them do but when they have James, George, Stephanie etc constantly bitching about him then it's easier for them to follow the crowd than it is to make an effort with him.

And before anyone hits out with 'so Gary can do no wrong' I'm not saying that at all, he can be rude at times, he does have an ego but that hardly makes him a bad person, he has a good heart and really they all mostly blame his hearing problem as the biggest thing that annoys them about him which to me is completely astonishing that they have so little tolerance? it's out of order imo, he can't help it fgs and he asks them what they are saying during other conversations because he wants to feel a part of the group.

A group of bullies all don't want to speak to a "nerdy" kid in the playground but it's not because the kid has done anything wrong.. The group are just intolerant because the kid is "different", or because one person decides they don't like them and the rest follow.

(Just to make clear, I'm not suggesting Gary is being bullied, I don't believe he is. Just an analogy :))

he also was bitter at gary because? ermmm he told him to shush? big wow. I only recall seeing that happen one time. for a big man, david is very fragile isnt he?

CaudleHalbard 28-08-2014 12:50 AM

Gary doesn't give a toss. That's the difference between him and the nerdy kid. He is laughing inside.

I reaaaally hope so but like I said he shows signs of being upset sometimes at what people say/being nominated etc.

Though I'd imagine so many years in the public eye would teach you not to give a ****** what other people think.

I read the title as wanking, not walking and suddenly this thread took on a completely different context

Hmm I disagree, he genuinely looks upset at times you know and not to mention how awkward he must feel.

And really it doesn't matter how he feels about it, they shouldn't be treating people like that at all IMHO.

CaudleHalbard 28-08-2014 12:57 AM

I get the feeling they see Gary as the bully..... or at least rather overbearing.

I know it's only an hour, but on live feed tonight it seemed the same as the HLs with regards to their treatment of Gary. Having a go at him like moral gurus, bitching about him, giggling, avoiding him. Dunno if it really is manipulation tbh. How can you be so sure it's manipulation anyway?! :conf:

spot on, tonight was the real time truth

CaudleHalbard 28-08-2014 01:06 AM

But if the 70 year old is seen as a bit of a bully himself? Shushing people and pointing a finger in their faces?

Gary has no doubt been told how wonderful he is, for a large part of his adult life. It clearly had come as a shock to him that not everybody feels that way when they have to share his company 24/7. I'm sure in small doses he's ok.

Personally I would not want to be in the
BB house with him. Sorry.

LukeB 28-08-2014 01:07 AM

youre entitled to your opinion even if it is spectacularly and 110% wrong
youre assuming that hes had an easy life? how do you know that? you assume everyone tells him wonderful he is? why would you assume that? because you assume all successful hollywood actors are up their own anus? or do you think what hes achieved has come easy? do you not consider its hard work? do you not consider how much rejection actors face? do you consider his own disabilities? his own disabled son? why would you not want to be in there with a person who doesnt back stab at all?

No it's Gary's supporters, presumably many of them fans of his films, who are in denial.

I seriously doubt any of us would be happy sharing living space with someone like Gary, 24/7.

Still only a small %... Hardly commonplace is it.

Denial of what? you know your point would maybe hold a bit of relevance had it not been proven on Live Feed tonight the extent of how the housemates have been treating Gary.

I'm not saying he would be the easiest to live with either btw but he doesn't deserve to be treated like a total outcast, no one does.
