Too many pics of badly burned children in the papers at this time of year.. I think fireworks should be limited to organised displays..

LMAO!!!

Pipergun 31-10-2006 12:16 PM

It was in my local newspaper that someone had called their hamster S Club - which didn't make sense.

They tied their hamster to a rocket and set it off. The last line was something like "S Club definitely reached for the stars"

Deserving of a groan!

Diablo 31-10-2006 12:17 PM

tut tut :nono:

tie fireworks to hooligans and see how they like it!!!

bonnie43uk 31-10-2006 12:28 PM

When i was a kid, the run up to firework night was the best fun i'd had all year .. some of the things we got up to, as a kid, were fantastic!! .. i wish i was 10 again.
i never got hurt once! ( had lots of close escapes though)
Bangers and rockets were my favourite, especially when tied together.

ive just explained

Jay 31-10-2006 03:27 PM

I don't think fireworks should be banned, but it's getting annoying hearing them go off weeks before bonfire night.

Bells 31-10-2006 03:31 PM

Love them!
They’re really spectacular, although I do think we’re going a bit overboard now. I reckon they should be saved and made especially exclusive to the particular Bonfire Night weekend, it makes it more fun. It just gets tedious I reckon when everyone keeps doing it in the build-up; IMO it spoils the actual date itself. We should keep it the way the Americans do their Independence Day or something. People round my area have been setting off fireworks for a while now.

BB-Rocks 31-10-2006 03:39 PM

They shouldn't be banned. I love them. I set them off all the time. Great fun:laugh:

Chrizzle 31-10-2006 03:40 PM

I like fireworks.
I dont think theres any excuse for them to be banned

People know the rules

The early counterparts were simple splints of wood, home-made by both adults and children in the cottages surrounding London. Sharpened at one end, the matches were dipped in sulphur, and were used for catching the sparks struck from flints and steel, being quicker and easier to light than tinder commonly in useSulphur Match

Matches originated during the reign of the Roman Empire, but they were not self igniting. The matches were composed of thin strips of wood tipped with sulphur. The sulphurous match head was touched against a hot surface, such as fire embers or a heated poker, whereupon the sulphur would ignite. This form of match persisted into the 18th century. These matches were not an original ignition source; typically a fire would have to be lit, using steel and flint, to light the match.
In 1786 sulphur matches were sold in Paris and London with a bottle, the inside of which was coated with phosphorus. The sulphur match head was rubbed in the phosphorus and then on the cork stopper of the bottle, thereafter the match ignited.

Duh!

SiMoN! 31-10-2006 04:38 PM

i dont think they should be sold at liek asda or something

they should be a fireworks display for everyone who wants 1

the are good

Crystal-Rose 31-10-2006 07:56 PM

i dont think they should be banned.

but i think they should be kept for profesional firework displays. And it should be banned for random people to buy them and use them their selves.

Lauren 01-11-2006 07:11 PM

I don't think fireworks should be banned.
There should just be tighter restrictions on who should be able to buy them.

Crimson Dynamo 17-10-2011 12:46 PM

Smithy 17-10-2011 12:50 PM
