Clean slate for a new doctor :flutter: This way I can keep the OP updated with ratings and whatnot too.

Mummy on the Orient Express? Is this another Agatha Christie episode?

Remember the end of Series 5 with the phone call? It was mentioned then and then the episode ended... but the Christmas episode that followed it was completely different.

armand.kay 30-08-2014 05:52 PM

Next ep looks good

Oh yeah.

Marsh. 30-08-2014 06:36 PM

I forgot about it and missed the teaser.

Marsh. 30-08-2014 07:01 PM

12 and Clara. So much better. :worship:

:joker: That gif.

Jarrod 30-08-2014 08:34 PM

Good episode, little weak in places I thought though.

Jay. 30-08-2014 08:42 PM

I thought tonight's was so much better than the opening episode! It reminded me of the series 1 episode with the Dalek and Rose :flutter:

Jamesy 30-08-2014 09:19 PM

I loved it. Far better than episode one (in my opinion). Did fall flat at points but an all round good episode.

Scarlett. 30-08-2014 10:28 PM

It's crazy how quickly Capaldi has settled in as the Doctor, it took me until S7 to actually like Matt Smith (though that was mostly because Amy basically became the star of the show, which was annoying, once she left, he was a lot better).

Tonights episode was fantastic, its so good to actually have a really really good Dalek episode again, I think this is also the first time we've seen the Daleks back at full power too.

Marsh. 30-08-2014 10:36 PM

It feels like years since I've seen a Dalek actually kill people.

I didn't think much of Matt Smith until series 7 either. I think it was The Angels Take Manhattan was the first one I really enjoyed him in (just happens to be Amy's last :hehe:).

Shaun 30-08-2014 10:49 PM

Capaldi already confirmed as the best doctor of the whole reboot tbh

Marsh. 30-08-2014 11:02 PM

:clap1:

I love his bluntness. He should've dumped Clara and took Zawe Ashton as his companion.

Scarlett. 30-08-2014 11:07 PM

That Missy character is quite interesting, I like that he beef seems to be with the Doctor, and not another "the universe is dying!" style arc.

Firewire 30-08-2014 11:08 PM

I'll need to re-watch the episode as I was distracted

Rob! 30-08-2014 11:09 PM

Good episode - enjoyed it. Tad confused though (so what's new with Moffat?)

Is there now a Dalek going around who hates all other Daleks? Not only do they not remember the Doctor, there's a Dalek that wants to exterminate all of it's species?

They remember the Doctor now, I forget when it happened, but they regained their memory of him (might have been in the time of the doctor), I reckon we might see Rusty again, hopefully this means that there will be something of a schism for the Daleks, as they're too powerful at the moment, a Dalek civil war could be interesting.

So they stopped forgetting the doctor...in the very next episode they appeared in? What the hell was the point?

Jamesy 30-08-2014 11:41 PM

It's interesting regarding Rusty, as in the leaked episode..
Spoiler:

Rusty self destructs, blowing up a Dalek ship and killing itself along with it.

Although in the episode we saw last night that scene was cut out for some reason. I guess they didn't like what was in the earlier cut, or they have plans for Rusty the Dalek. Maybe Rusty will return one day.

Scarlett. 30-08-2014 11:46 PM

Yeah, I can imagine they cut that, because they wanted to leave his future undecided.

I've been saying that since 2010.

Forgot they were both in Emmerdale at the same time.

Marsh. 31-08-2014 12:20 AM

Danny Pink and Journey Blue. Both soldiers.

Oooh and there's a gay bar called Heaven.

**** you Moffat. Trying to hoodwink me :smug:

Marsh. 31-08-2014 01:37 AM

:joker:

Captain Jack returns, a married man. Jack Red.

Marsh. 31-08-2014 01:37 AM

But yeah, I think it'll turn out Danny is from outer space. :smug:

He might end up as the final "victim" to be collected by Missy towards the end of the series. :amazed: I'm dead clever me.

I just hope whatever it turns out to be, it's given time to breath. Some of the co complicated and convulated **** we've had for the past few years

Marsh. 31-08-2014 02:25 AM

The worst thing would be if it isn't concluded and the story spirals out of control into the christmas special/series 9 and beyond.

Sticks 31-08-2014 05:05 AM

No comment about the new titles?

A friend of mine hates them and does not believe Peter should be using his Scottish accent as RTD never allowed that from David (10th)

Marsh. 31-08-2014 05:06 AM

I think there were comments on them in the old thread. I don't mind the titles, the music is horrid.

I don't mind Capaldi using his Scottish accent as McCoy used it too (apparently) and Eccleston kept his Manchester accent. I think we've finally moved beyond the "RP" doctors. They don't have to be posh anymore.

Definately, thats what was most annoying about Matt Smith's reign, the whole over arching silence thing, I mean, the way it ended was pretty good with all the "Of the Doctor" episodes, but the three years building up to it? Not so much.
