Neil 'Dr.' Fox latest to be held over 'sexual assaults'

Quote:

Radio DJ Neil Fox - known as "Dr Fox" - has been arrested in London by police investigating claims of historical sex offences.

The arrest came after separate allegations were made by two women, the BBC understands.

According to reports, he was arrested in Soho at the studios of Magic FM, where he presents the breakfast show.

Gusto Brunt 30-09-2014 05:27 PM

I'm not defending any pervert, BUT I hear one man got 6 months prison sentence suspended for 18 months for patting a woman's botty.

If I had got charged all the people who had pinched my bum in nightclubs and bars they'd all be doing 60 years collectively. :D

Marc 30-09-2014 05:31 PM

Interesting. I wouldn't be surprised though

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 30-09-2014 05:36 PM

Is this a conspiracy? Is the government plotting to bring down every established public figure with fabricated stories for whatever reason?

I think the BBC has a great deal to answer as to these cases actually, you make a strong point in my view.

They have been paying the wages of people from all people having to pay them a licence fee and quite frankly I think the BBC need to be called to account for what has been happening in their studios, suppled dressing rooms and also as to the staff they have been employing.

Really shocking a state funded organisation, funded by compulsory enforcement of a licence fee for just about everyone, has found itself so involved in such cases by the people it 'chose' to employ, often at extremely high fees too.

If you didn't pay the licence fee, then you could have got a criminal record for not doing so,it should be also criminal for the negligence of the BBC as to what has happened often on their premises by those employed by it to entertain its viewers.

[Dr Fox 'Exploited Fame To Abuse Teenage Fans'
The former Pop Idol judge used his celebrity to "inflict himself upon adolescent girls", his sex assault trial is told.]

The DJ is saying he still not guilty.

["She describes how on one occasion
Mr Fox asked her to help him carry his records
to the underground car park."
Alone and out of sight, Fox allegedly kissed her.
On a second occasion he asked her
to accompany him and then molested her,
the jury heard.]

You can't do that unless they could actually prove that these women were lying though. Presumably he was found not guilty because there wasn't evidence to back their claims (which I have no doubt is a common occurrence in sexual assault cases) that isn't proof that they made it up, it's just not enough to prove that he did assault them

ETA : I'm not saying I believe he did do it, I'm just saying he probably was found not guilty as it was a one word against another type thing

why would they be jailed? just because he was found not guilty does NOT mean that he is innocent, it just means that they couldn't PROVE he was guilty.

If they have to prove someone is a rapist, then you should also have to prove that they were lying. how will you prove that they are lying?

how can you prove someone is lying???

it's just as hard to prove that they were lying as it is to prove that they were raped.

this is why so many rapists get away with it, because there is never enough evidence, it's always just he said/she said.

Indeed. You can't charge the woman with anything - or in my opinion, even assume that she IS lying - without proof. You just have to accept that the truth remains unknown.

If, for example, some concrete evidence for example was to come to light then it MIGHT be a different story - say for example, someone was accused of raping someone "last tuesday" but then CCTV footage of them at a hotel in another country every day that week was shown...

But not very often that you get things like that happening. The vast majority of rape accusations go without anyone ever being charged. Plenty of those will have been guilty men walking free. Like Neem, I'm not saying that this is what has happened in this case, just that it's simply untrue to say that it doesn't happen and like I said above - you just have to accept that the women MIGHT be lying, but still MIGHT NOT, and so definitely should not be punished for coming forward.
