umm, these kind of stories about Bill Cosby have been around for a looong time. This isn't news. Plenty of women have made the same accusations, and been paid off.

Personally i think it's probably true, He probably is a slime ball that has done horrible things to women.

but because it's always going to be a he said/she said situation the women really can't make anything stick criminally, and he keeps paying them off which means he doesn't want to go to civil court.

He's no better than michael jackson imo.

8-10% of sexual assualt accusations have been proven false. This is increasingly becoming a problem in the US where people use the law to their advantage by getting 'revenge' on someone by accusing them of sexual assault, many times when the other person hasn't done so much as shaken hands with the 'victim'. I don't feel sorry for rapists, of course not. I just feel like it's important to have concrete evidence before jumping to conclusions, particularly for cases in the United States.

But you've jumped to the conclusion that he's innocent and the accuser is lying despite knowing no more than anyone else. :shrug:

If 8-10% of accusations are false then your statement of this being "more likely" to be a lie is false.

8-10% is pretty low, don't you think? that means 90-92% of accusations aren't false :shrug:

90-92% sure, but doesn't mean all of those were true, it just means evidence against the accuser couldn't be accumulated. Again, i'm not saying this case as well as others are lies, or not worthy of taking them very seriously. I just think it's of upmost importance that the 'victim policy' isn't taken too far, and that the accused rapist also has a chance to speak. Even if it is just 8-10% false, those people who have been falsely accused shouldn't suffer for it, in the same way that those who actually have been raped, shouldn't have to suffer for it either.

Well this case itself hasn't gone through court yet, has it? The 8-10% statistic is given after trial.

all i know rapist/sex offenders will lie and make out it's the victims fault
