What's going on in the West Midlands?..
West Midlands Police officers have been ordered back to their bases due to a security threat, Sky sources say.
Sky's Sean Dilley said police are involved in a "fast-moving situation" after receiving a "credible security threat". http://news.sky.com/story/1388316/we...d-back-to-base |

Yeah I saw this on the news. :worry:
|
Apparently they've all been allowed to return home but have been told not to use public transport.
 What the hell? |
Oh hell no, I've got a busy day ahead of me tomorrow and i'm likely to be on the buses frequently. Ain't got no time for what sounds like bomb threats.
|
Must just be Sky over reacting trying to scare everyone

Related Stories 'Up to five' terror plots stopped UK's terror threat level raised West Midlands Police has put its officers and staff on alert after receiving an anonymous warning over their safety. The force said it had "implemented additional security measures" after obtaining the information. Officers were held on duty while they were given the security reminder or as they started their shifts. The advice included guidance about travelling to and from work in partial uniform and police station security. Assistant Chief Constable Garry Forsyth said while there is nothing to suggest an increased risk to members of the public, "all information relating to matters of security [is treated] extremely seriously. "In this particular case, we have received information relating to the safety of West Midlands Police officers and police staff," he said. "We have taken the opportunity to remind all employees of the need to be vigilant. Our priority remains serving our communities and protecting them from harm. "Officers remain on patrol and our staff continue to respond to calls for service as usual." In October, the threat level to police officers across Britain was raised to substantial. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-30390392 The national security level remains at severe, signifying a terrorist attack is highly likely. |
This is gonna be explosive.

Thank God. For a moment there, I thought it might be those extreme Christians handing out 'Jesus Loves You' pamphlets, those radical Jews offending people by carrying scrolls through the streets, or even gangs of West Indian's wearing LOUD clothing in quiet areas.
I was a bit worried, but it's probably just more scare-mongering by anti-Islamic bastards over an imagined, non-existent threat. Phew! Now I can relax. |
It was a kidnapping threat apparently
|
Yeah I haven't heard much about this today, glad to be done with all my errands though, just in case.
Hopefully it's all just hot air and it won't lead to anything. |
These kind of warnings are usually when a particular police officer/investigating team are going to be targeted/attacked by criminals or terrorists.
In any kind of case like that a general warning is handed out across the board, as a just in case measure and to ensure the media doesn't learn any details and reveal everything. |
