Poor guy, I feel bad about the way he was told about not returning to the show. But it was the right decision to get rid of him tbh.

Him no longer hosting has made it far more enjoyable to watch. At least you're not cringing with Emma.

aw I love Brian, best HM of all time for me, I was really disappointed that it didn't work out for him. It's a pity that he wasn't put as BOTs host first day instead, i think that would have suited him better (plus we'd be spared Rylan)

I really like Brian, awful way to find out he was no longer host.
It is,for me, still really sad that the housemate who won 2 BB series,his own and the Ultimate BB too, now has no input to any programmes connected to BB at all.

I still don't think he did that bad a job really,however I have to admit Emma has made it her own, so far.

Having Bryan and Rylan would've been good, they are both great with the one liners.

I liked Brian in general, I think he was a lovely person and a great housemate but he was an awful presenter, he stumbled through evictions and he created no atmosphere at all and his interviews with the housemates were terrible.

Bringing in Emma saved the show imo, Brian just couldn't hack it.

As soon as Channel 5 announced Emma and Brian were going to be involved im sure we all felt Emma would front the main show and Brian would host BOTS.

Channel 5 got it the wrong way around and it took them 2 years to swallow their pride and correct their mistake.

If Brian had presented BOTS from day 1 and Emma the main show I have no doubt they would both be still doing just that.

The channel was always looked upon as cheap and amature and Brian presenting such an iconic show really dented BB's reputation and prolonged peoples opinion of Channel 5 being cheap.

But I do like him ive met him numerous times and hes hilarious, kind, charming and he is one of the greatest housemates. Obviously he was going to take the opportunity of hosting BB but he just wasn't good enough to succeed Davina.

I agree. It's a shame. He obviously couldn't swap with Emma as that would be embarrassing but I think he'll definitely have been more comfortable.

As he wasn't all that bad on those late night shows he used to do for ITV.

Brian was pretty hopeless. He'd have been even worse on BOTS than on the main show.

Showbiz is ruthless. He should stop moaning.

tbf he was answering a question on that clip. Showbiz might be ruthless but it would have been common courtesy to atleast have sat him down and told him before telling the media, don't you think?

If Jeff ford was still the c5 controller he would still be host I'm sure Ben frow changed things

Nothing against him but he was a dreadful host. Thank god they promoted Emma to the main show.

If Emma had of been the original host she would've been slaughtered as the comparisons with Davina would've been too big at first, Brian was a good filler.

I can't say I miss him hosting but the way he found out he was sacked sounds terrible. But thank god for Emma replacing him. :worship:

So true - it means Emma is compared to Brian rather than Davina and always comes out favourably. I do think though Emma is perhaps too safe a pair of hands - she's not quite at Chenbot levels but from what I saw of the launch show and tonight she just didn't seem to have that love for the show Davina had. Then again if she's as genuine of a fan of the show as she claims to be it's not surprising as hosting Big Brother isn't the job it once was.

Hated Brian. I dont like overly camp people & it made me not watch the show other than the celebrity version.

brian dowling can't take being told the truth, or being criticised, on hells kitchen he acted like a prat, and wanted attention every second, but he was alot better on, ultimate big brother, where he was more of himself, than the last time, when he was on big brother in 2001, where he was screaming down the place, brian's biggest problem is that he won't admit that he was never made to be a tv host,

it could have been so successful and lasted years akin to Davina and Dermot on C4. I remember at the time everyone thought that was what they were going to do, or at least I did.

Brian was terrible at hosting the show. Why he ever got the job in the first place I'll never know.

I couldn't watch him, but Emma just does it better.
