What's your point here.. two people stood in a kitchen, what's it meant to represent?

i am asking what do you think of the Milliband Kitchen?

waterhog 12-03-2015 12:47 PM

very harsh comments. i praise the farct he has not got a gleaming gold kitchen and a very modest house.

he lives like us people and not like all these torrie mps.

as for the road and house - i would give my right arm to live there.

ed - i do think you have work to do with the party - but i can relate to labor if you start looking after the less well off people pumping money into the nhs - cutting down on foreign aid and controlling immigration and unlike Gordon B - not having a open door policy.

Crimson Dynamo 12-03-2015 12:50 PM

Nigel, what do you think about that kitchen?

if that looks a bit like you can you pm me asap?

jennyjuniper 12-03-2015 05:25 PM

It doesn't look as if a lot of 'happy' meals are prepared in that kitchen. Mine is a bit messy, with lots of herbs and cookbooks and mis-matched crockery, but I love it.

joeysteele 12-03-2015 06:25 PM

What a thing to get at him for now, because he has, what some clearly think,a dull looking kitchen, for goodness sake it goes from the sublime to the ridiculous the ways to be negative as to him.

As for his wife,Justine, she is a great deal more friendly than another person's wife I could mention.
I however won't get into the attacking as to appearance of politicians wives too, I will leave that shocking and disgraceful act to things like the Sun and Daily Mail.
Very far indeed from being frumpy too.

Bang On Right MTVN

joeysteele 12-03-2015 06:38 PM

If it was a kitchen adjoining a dining area then perhaps it could be altered to be 'more' appealing.
As it is,it is what it is, a kitchen,a functional place where meals are prepared. then the place is cleaned up afterwards.
So it is dull, at least it looks really clean and everything in place, that would be more important for me.

It is hardly where people are going to sit all day.

Josy 12-03-2015 07:23 PM

Who gives a **** seriously? it's his kitchen, he looks at it and uses it every day. You don't.

And Arista his wife isn't frumpy fgs, people like you cause anorexia, dismorphia and the like.

I said this to Scott the other day too but I swear theres a large amount of members on this forum that are basically the dementors from Harry Potter.

smudgie 12-03-2015 07:53 PM

I dont thnk his wife is in anyway frumpy.

The reason his kitchen might look so empty is the fact that ii is not really the kitchen..just the kitchenette, near the sitting room, to make a cuppa etc.
They have a second kitchen, more befitting of their 2 million quid house.
Just posed for the pictures in the small kitchen to get down with us ordinary folk:laugh:

Agree smudgie,I don't think that's his main kitchen at all,just a part of it,if indeed it's even his house:hehe:

Well said again,it almost makes one despair at times at the cheap jibes and insults.

MTVN 12-03-2015 08:28 PM

Oh it actually is his second kitchen :joker:

It was an attempt to portray Ed Miliband as a “man of the people” by filming him alongside his wife in a small, austere kitchen of their north London home.

But the move backfired after it emerged the room was in fact the smaller of two kitchens in his £2 million mansion, which he uses only for preparing “tea and quick snacks”.

The apparent gaff saw Mr Miliband dubbed “Two Kitchens” – a reference to John ‘Two Jags’ Prescott, the former Labour deputy leader – and mocked by Conservative opponents.

Yeah..I didn't know how to post the link.

I want to see the kitchen propr now.

Crimson Dynamo 12-03-2015 08:41 PM

This kitchen could lose labour the election!

joeysteele 12-03-2015 09:13 PM

My Grandmothers home in Ireland had 2 kitchens, one was the main kitchen and then there was another that adjoined a dining room too.
What on earth is the matter with that.

If the voters decide how to vote on what kitchen a politician has then really all powers that be need to really help this country.
I have come across some ridiculous things in my short time already but gosh, hey, let's hear how many bathrooms he has too and indeed all other politicians while we are at it.

It is still a kitchen, whether it was the bigger of the 2 he may have or or not.I am also likely sure the kitchens were in place when they acquired the property too, unlike anyone actually 'choosing' to have 2 jaguar cars.

Does anyone really believe that senior politicians live in basic human dwellings,I certainly don't and never have either.

Kizzy 12-03-2015 09:16 PM

All politicians have a London home and a home elsewhere too... so they all have two flipping kitchens :/

JoshBB 12-03-2015 10:03 PM

at least we see he lives like us.

i have more respect for this than someone who owns multiple houses or lives in a mansion. much more representative of actual people than some elitist prick *cough* david cameron *cough*

Crimson Dynamo 12-03-2015 10:06 PM

Iv seen DCs kitchen and its a normal family kitchen

Kizzy 12-03-2015 10:12 PM

Normal.... In Kensington?

'So how many properties do you own? “I own a house in North Kensington which you’ve been to and my house in the constituency in Oxfordshire and that is, as far as I know, all I have.”

A house in Cornwall? “No, that is, Samantha used to have a timeshare in South Devon but she doesn’t any more.” And there isn’t a fourth? “I don’t think so – not that I can think of.” Please don’t say, “Not that I can think of.” “You might be… Samantha owns a field in Scunthorpe but she doesn’t own a house…”

The rest of the interview was punctuated with Cameron’s nagging anxiety about how this exchange was going to make him sound: “I was wondering how that will come across as a soundbite”; “‘Not that I can think of’ makes me sound… I am really worried about that…”; “I am still thinking about this house thing”; and his parting shot was: “Do not make me sound like a prat for not knowing how many houses I’ve got."

 Can't say I know any people that live in two million quid houses with 2 kitchens to be honest.
Makes absolute no difference to me personally how I would vote.
Just think it is quite odd how the pair if them were posing in the smaller more austere kitchen to make us think they were more like us..I am naturally nosey and want to see what the bigger kitchen looks like.
