Fear The Walking Dead - Season 4 Airs April 2018
 

AMC's upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff is on the way, and it just got a title: Fear the Walking Dead. Series creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman made the announcement on Twitter this afternoon:

The news comes only days before The Walking Dead's season five finale airs on Sunday night. The timing, however, is fitting; AMC announced earlier today that the trailer for the companion series would air after the finale.

Fear the Walking Dead, which got a two-season order earlier this month, is set to debut this summer. The series, which is set in Los Angeles, follows the zombie outbreak and breakdown of society before the events of the main series. Expect AMC to push the new series hard in the run-up to its premiere, as it now joins Better Call Saul as potential big draw for the network after the end of Mad Men this spring.

I wonder how many episodes for the first season are planned.

I recognise Kim Dickens in the cast from Lost, I always liked her despite her being relatively minor so I'm looking forward to her having a prominent role in this show. :)

Oh that's a good number, same as the main show's first season. I had a feeling they'd start off with a short run.

Yeah I think it'll work well. It airs late summer so might leads us right into season 6

Pretty excited about this.. will be refreshing being in a different area with different characters having new outlooks on the zombie outbreak.. Hopefully a trailer will air after the finale

Didn't realize until now that Alycia Debnam Carey had been cast as one of the leads. I know her from The 100, she's hot and a good actress. My anticipation has suddenly gone up.

I'll give it a chance but I expect it'll be terrible. The Walking Dead became filler filled rubbish after the second season and they've only just POSSIBLY got it back on track.

I'm hoping because it's a spin off/side show that it'll be good. I don't want them calling them walkers either.

I can't wait for this, TWD is my favourite show so I hope this is good. :love:

August I believe, not sure of the specific date.

Yeah there's no set date yet. I imagine we'll get it pretty soon.

Looks better than The Walking Dead. I gave up the show during s4 but this I'll watch.

It looks pretty good and the concept is much more interesting than Walking Dead's. I'll give it a go.

I only realised earlier that this starts in the US in a week. :amazed:

Leads us nicely into Season 6 of TWD too, ending a week before that returns. :love:

Doesn't seem like it. It's apparently airing from August 31st on a new AMC UK channel that's only available to BT customers apparently.

Here in the UK? A UK version of AMC on BT, apparently. God knows why they don't just air it on Fox like the main show.

I thought it was just okay. All set up kinda gets boring. Hope a bigger pay off in episode 2 and 3.
