TiBB Staff is an automatic thing that is sent to a member after a warning or infraction is given.

If anyone ever has a problem with a infraction/warning then just PM a mod or admin to discuss it.

Well, we were told to reply to it with queries! :worry:

armand.kay 01-04-2015 04:41 PM

Do y'all check messages sent to Tibb staff?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-04-2015 04:42 PM

i have replied to that account loads of times and never got a reply

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-04-2015 04:42 PM

and i don't think mods should be allowed to hide behind it tbh :umm2: like if you as a mod personally feel an infraction is deserved why do it anonymously?

MTVN 01-04-2015 04:42 PM

Mods don't see the messages or have access to it but Admin read the message and one of Josy or James normally posts any responses that come through in the Towers section

MTVN 01-04-2015 04:43 PM

I would honestly never infract people if they knew it was me, it opens you up to far too much sh*t, accusations of vendetta, bias etc. for it to ever be worth it

I see. Thanks for the insight, that explains everything, if another mod gives the infraction it wouldn't really make sense for Josy or James to figure out if the person replying is telling the truth or not, since they didn't give it. :worry: That is an awful system tbh.

It's not chosen to be anonymous. That's just how the system is.

Just don't do any infractable offences, and you'll be fine :)

It's not really clear what infractable and what's not tho.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-04-2015 04:47 PM

Read the rules :idc:

armand.kay 01-04-2015 04:50 PM

I have examples of when things which either arent in the rules or aren't made clear have got me in trouble but I fear I may be infracted or even banned if I post.

The whole point of this thread is that sometimes people seem to be breaking the rules when they are really not, so they get punished and don't get a chance to explain why they didn't deserve it. :joker:

It would though cos as Admin they're meant to be checking that the Mods are doing their job, which they do do. Infractions can and do get reversed and they often get discussed at least if they're contentious

Maybe I wouldn't be if it wasn't anonymous, but it is and so I am :idc:

Marsh. 01-04-2015 04:51 PM

Yeah, the number of warnings/infractions I get that say....

"baiting"
"baiting again"
"baiting AGAIN"
"stop this baiting now"

is ridiculous.

I bait like once every six months when I'm bored. :idc: The rest of the time I'm joking with people and they take it as a joke. :hmph:

LukeB 01-04-2015 04:52 PM

jess u do know if you get loads of infractions that leads towards a ban. I'm not going to say the words but you were quite nasty towards mock on the lounge and on someones wall. but it's only a ban and you were banned for 1 day

Yeah, there's a lot of jokes being taken out of context. :umm2: They can't just say "don't joke".

There have been times when people have been Infracted and other mods question it because they have understood the context wrong, and then the infraction is reversed.

Of course if someone is Infracted and in turn is banned they are going to try and 'explain' what they meant to try and get out of it.

I know, I was banned from a build up of infractions, one of them was a 100% wrongful infraction. This thread isn't about the ban, I don't care about being banned for one day, this is about a bigger issue.

MTVN 01-04-2015 04:54 PM

You all act like we infract people for fun though, it's not like trawling through all the sh*te in the Lounge or wherever is enjoyable, it's mainly when reports start coming through that Mods respond to it

But what if it's a genuine grievance? :fist: You can't lump everyone together andy!!! :smug:

LukeB 01-04-2015 04:55 PM

Another question for the mods :p

you know the expired infractions can mods delete them?

Maybe your posts are getting reported by those you are "joking" with who obviously don't see it as a joke.

Expired ones vanish from the account for me. I can only see "active" ones. :suspect:

Then you can pm a mod/admin for us to discuss it.

Yeah, stuff like that is bound to happen, I'm not saying the mods are out to get me or something, I just think there should be more communication between the mods and members. :thumbs2:

Well I know that now. :idc:

The problem then becomes people taking things as a joke and laughing on forum and then reporting you behind your back instead of coming out with it. :fist:

I'm not saying this happened... I'm saying it's a possibility. :smug:

Just don't bait, or only joke with people you know aren't going to be offended. :)

That's another thing, if a post is reported because it offend someone it doesn't involve, then action shouldn't be taken tbh, it should only be if the person it's aimed at is offended or if it's a serious rule break or a more social issue. :umm2:

Like if I told Marsh he has "squinty eyes":joker:, he would know I was referencing something he said about himself before, but might reply with something aimed at me, someone might find this offensive and report it, but because it's not entirely 100% clear to the people who aren't involved it could result in an infraction for me or both of us if his reply was something similarly distinctive.

We wouldn't infract for that :umm2:

Liam- 01-04-2015 05:01 PM

Just don't do things that could lead to possible infractions if you're not happy with receiving infractions for things that you don't think you should be receiving them for

It was just an example, I am not going to give a serious one because this is a clean thread and I want it to be nice with no trouble. :nono:
