The women swear like troopers!

Would it kill them to act a bit more ladylike? Yeesh.

Mystic Mock 13-05-2015 07:07 AM

I want everybody to be individuals.

Swearing is not a big deal to me.

Natalie. 13-05-2015 07:57 AM

They can swear as much as they like

Josy 13-05-2015 08:09 AM

If that's the way they really are then I see no problem with it

karezza 13-05-2015 08:15 AM

And they all smoke and they all look old.

Northern Monkey 13-05-2015 08:49 AM

Everyone swears these days so why pick out the women?? Its part of life. The only one in the house that I never heard swear up to this series is boring old Rachel

Yeah because it just shows how brain dead they are. ;)

Ammi 13-05-2015 12:24 PM

..it's not really something that bothers me, it's only their terminology and it's more about looking beyond that to their characters...it's only really if it is used to offend and insult in a mean/nasty way...other than that it's just words...

WRONG !!!!!!!! Not everyone swears, some of us can express ourselves with the queens English and words we learned by taking note of education.

Swearers are generally uneducated and have poor morals. Ive been married to my wife for 43 yrs and neither of us have heard the other use more than sh 1 t. The f and c word would never be uttered in my house and if it was, I would be shocked. Even my kids don't swear.

In closing I am not calling all swearers loose, I am simply stating an opinion so try not use it for a shallow dig. Its a fact of nature that profanity is the invention of the undereducated.

Ammi 13-05-2015 12:38 PM

..it's not though...there have been some highly educated housemates who have used similar or the same terminology...

Kizzy 13-05-2015 12:39 PM

I wouldn't make it a gender issue, if you don't swear an don't like swearing then I would have thought that would mean from everyone.
I do swear, but not in general conversation.....it dilutes the effect

Swearers have poor morals? whaaaaaaaaaat lol how do you make that out? Also, it isn't a fact of nature that profanity is the invention of the under educated. And why is it ok for you to use the word s**t if you disagree with swearing so much?

Lee. 13-05-2015 02:33 PM

I love a good cuss and I can be very ladylike! I think knowing the right time and place is important! I'd never swear in front of my kids, in public or whilst at work or in a restaurant etc, but if I'm with my sister and/or friends I can turn the air very very blue! :)

The car usually :fan:

AnnieK 13-05-2015 02:37 PM

My dad rarely utters anything stronger than bloody and he finds it quite offensive when people swear in general conversation. I can swear with the best of em but would never swear at or in conversation with him (I learnt that the hard way on the end of a mouth washing with soap and water). Having said that, I don't feel I am under educated or immoral and I can, and do, express myself quite adequately without swearing as needed.

As long as you remember who is in the car with you if you are not alone. I once swore (badly) and had my mum as the passenger, I would probably have come out more unscathed if I had risked hitting the bus that was hurtling toward me

......that's so easy to do as well because you can say things without thinking..I don't swear that much generally because I would worry that I might say something at work in ear shot of the children...

Actually that's not true :fan:

People that swear a lot are known for being more truthful

In any case there are much much worse people with lower morals than ones that curse

Rapists
Murderers
Peadophiles
Burglars
Con Artists

The list could go on and on and people that swear would be at the very bottom of it.

Northern Monkey 13-05-2015 02:59 PM

I once called my dad a C u next Tuesday when i was a kid.Did'nt do it again though:dog:

Marsh. 13-05-2015 02:59 PM

Excessive swearing can be a bit much, but saying they shouldn't because of their gender is ridiculous.

So by your analogy, because I do not swear, I am by your definition not as honest as some scumbag that f and jeffs it all day long. Ill bet that took you a while to work that one out.

Josy if I was to say to anyone........Excuse me but you are mistaken and need to leave me alone,

would that have the same impact as me saying....Oi w.nk.r you are a tw.t now f off.

I think my version sounds more plausible and swearing isn't acceptable on tv because it unsociable and regarded as wrong so why not apply those virtues in real life.

JoshBB 13-05-2015 03:51 PM

That's possibly the most sexist OP I've read on TiBB. "cant she act ladylike" no how about u stop acting like its the 1800s

Daniel. 13-05-2015 03:51 PM

They do every season though :umm2:

jennyjuniper 13-05-2015 05:18 PM

I find swearing by men and women unattractive. It's also used by many who don't have a good vocabulary.

Welcome back Sam I am going to love all your contributions this summer. My opinion mate which I am entitled to and you have a remarkable house in fairness if none of ye swear. That is indeed very rare so well done ( And I am being genuine)

Hia and thanks but its true, my dad was a minister, one of my sons is a minister, one is gay and my daughters like me, a heathen and fun lover. my wifes side are also very religious and shes an alki, lol. but the common thread running through our house was that as kids, we were schooled to keep a civil tongue and we did the same with our kids.

I just find profanity unessessary and vile sometimes but its always to do with the mood and what tone its said in.
