When did you start watching Big Brother?

I don't mean watching back reruns. I mean when was the first year you actually watched the show, whether it was because you weren't interested before or because of your age or whatever. Feel free to post reasons in the thread.

I first watched back in 2000 when it was all new and nobody knew if it was going to ever really work.

You've even watched a series that didn't exist if you started in 1999.

MattHooper 17-05-2015 05:53 PM

In and out since BB9 but not properly until BB13

Jamesy 17-05-2015 05:56 PM

Saw a bit of BB5 when my parents watched it, then BB6 was my first proper series.

...haha..Marjorie..:flutter:..yeah I liked Darren as well..it was also good that they had something to do..(although some housemates hated doing the chickens..)..like caring for something and to focus on but I guess that made for less drama and arguments...I'm not sure that Nasty Nick would seem so nasty now because they all have such contact from outside anyway and it's less a thing to discuss or being seen to influence nominations...

Lostie! 17-05-2015 05:59 PM

BB7 was when I first started properly watching. :)

Babayaro. 17-05-2015 06:04 PM

I know right.I remember when writing anything down in there deserved capitol punishment.Nasty nick would'nt even be noticed these days.Back when no outside contact meant you could'nt even communicate to the outside via the cameras.

BB5.

I remember seeing the promo for Black Friday, and Big Brother Goes Evil, as it was advertised with the last ever Friends.

Originally, I was planning to only watch the last ever Friends, but I left it on Channel 4 after Friends, and the launch was on, and I remember Marco entering, saying he hated Asylum seekers in his VT, then for them to put Ahmed in afterwards, who's an asylum seeker, who also hates gay people. I knew it would be electric after that, and I was intrigued so continued to watch the rest of the launch, and loved it. And have been a BB fan since.

rionablue 17-05-2015 06:18 PM

2002 I didn't have the channel up to then. I said after a few years, I am not going to watch this anymore as it is taking up my whole summer but years later I am still an addict lol

Heaven = Winner 17-05-2015 06:35 PM

BB10 was the first Big Brother that I properly remember watching.

Morgan. 17-05-2015 07:03 PM

I watched the 12pm clean reruns of BB11, then watched HL reruns of UBB, and the live shows live. Since then I have watched it all live.

In 2014 I went on holiday for a week so used all my €1 for 10 minutes of internet each evening to watch all of the clips and see who left. It was the week Zoe left and she was my 2nd fave so I literally went back to the apartment, put my head under the pillow and almost cried.

erinp5 17-05-2015 07:07 PM

Day 1 .

TomC 17-05-2015 07:13 PM

Last year - watched an episode one night as there was nothing else on and stuck with it for the remaining 7 weeks of the series.

Only when I went back and watched some Classic C4 series did I realise what a load a sh*t BB15 was!

Flamingjoe 17-05-2015 07:15 PM

I started around halfway through BB10 because my sister watched it. I've obviously gone and watched every old series before that.

VanessaFeltz. 17-05-2015 07:16 PM

bb15 (2014) :S

zakman440 17-05-2015 07:29 PM

Posted this in another thread, but I watched the last few weeks of BB7, 8, 9 & 10 (I used to go on holiday to Spain in the summer so I couldn't watch the full series). BB11 was the first full series that I watched, and I loved it. I remember skipping quite a lot of BB12 as it clashed with X Factor, but I watched the full series of BB13 and every series since. I was 8 when I first watched an episode of Big Brother!

cookiemonster 17-05-2015 07:34 PM

mizzy25 17-05-2015 07:36 PM

Then you will remember the housemates feeling sorry for Kitten then practically shoving Kitten out the door as the prize money went down :laugh2:

BB11 online in 2011, since then I've been doing "anuual maratons" watching each year from C5 regular series till January CBB, filling the gap inbetween with a random C4 series (still haven't finished all C4s).

Beetlejuice 17-05-2015 08:14 PM

Came in one night and flicked through the channels and saw Dean, Bubble, Amma and I think Narrinder up in the early hours keeping a camp fire going. Started to like them so I continued watching.

The importance of the live feed...
