Boringgggg

This guy has gotten more and more boring with each episode, every time he opens his mouth to speak I think oh no, not again :bored:

He goes on and on and on and it's the most boring **** ever he talks about.

He is actually 97 years old in a kids body.

rionablue 11-06-2015 09:08 PM

I am tending to agree with you Josy. He is young he should act young, think young and join the younger housemates. Old before his years. And never a smile

Rorkimaru 11-06-2015 09:20 PM

Ah he has a bit of wit about him. I think he's a good addition to the house. Not winner material but his one to ones are interesting enough. Except of course when he's pressuring housemates to talk about their sex lives. I get that he's young and is curious how much people are actually "doing it" but he needs to realise it's both personal and not necessarily something they want to talk about on TV

Pete. 11-06-2015 09:20 PM

He's so dull and is still preaching the Conservative Manifesto 4 weeks in

Jake. 11-06-2015 09:22 PM

And Simon said that Eileen was half way through living...

joeysteele 11-06-2015 09:24 PM

Some people don't act young though.
He is very held back and possibly boring too, however, I was like him at 19 and still am to a degree, I was always serious, preferring to talk about politics and world affairs than go out drinking and partying.

I actually hated the student thing of always socialising, I preferred one to one conversations and discussing serious issues.

Even on here when I joined, as well as off here, I used to get,'have a laugh',or 'take humour as it was meant'.
I was always more serious.

I can relate to Joel in that, I said however earlier, that I do have a wilder side than Joel has shown so far.
He is very serious,he does come across as older in his thinking and how he acts, then again we know little of his background.
All my Brothers are much older than me, I was born into a family of adults, maybe that is how I got so serious.

Also perhaps with Joel, he is hoping to advance his political career,he knows eyes will be watching him so maybe is treading carefully so as not to jeopardise any chances of the furthering of his career.

Of course, I can see why people will find him boring, many people at Uni found me to be so as well.
I still am to many people and I still am very serious near most of the time and have little humour really, neither do I get other peoples humour a lot of the time too.
So I can more easily relate to Joel in there,as I would possibly be more like him in there myself.

He has maybe gone on the wrong show to be so serious, however for me at least, he is not boring me to death chasing after this girl or that one and subjecting us to 'duvet' talk, duvet talk that frankly just gets worse each BB series now.

So he wouldn't be boring to me because in there, he and I would be having loads of chats and debates and arguments at times too on politics alone.

Jake. 11-06-2015 09:27 PM

Very well said Joey

Liam- 11-06-2015 09:28 PM

I don't find him boring at all, he's one of my favourites now, every episode he makes me laugh at least once and that's what i enjoy in a housemate more than anything else.

LukeB 11-06-2015 09:29 PM

He's not boring imo, the only one boring for me is Simon

mizzy25 11-06-2015 09:30 PM

I also don't find him boring I find him interesting. He is a very mature guy but he is also growing up in front of our eyes if that makes any sense?

reece(: 11-06-2015 09:32 PM

He is the definition of dullard. What a dreary individual.

Lol Josy I feel exactly the same about Joel, I did like him to begin with but every time he opens his mouth I feel my eyes shutting now.

joeysteele 11-06-2015 10:53 PM

I also have to say I found his chat with Marc in the diary room after their task, really interesting to listen to as well.

Shaun 11-06-2015 10:57 PM

I could forgive his more "mature" kind of Conservative rentboy shtick if he weren't so self-righteous and the producers weren't trying to build him up as some kind of future chat show presenter, because he has zero charisma and life experience, it just smacks of cheapness and boredom.

I haven't totally written him off, he's at least different to the others, but it has been a long time since I've been interested in a portion of his highlights. Lately it just seems to be *random hip hop singing* or *interrogating another housemate for no discernable reason other than being asked to by the showmakers*

Visage 11-06-2015 11:07 PM

I think Joel is one of the more interesting characters in the house, I get a sense that he's genuinely asking random questions because he wants to learn how other people live their lives in general. I also get an impression that he thinks a lot, maybe too much and this is where some of the random comments might come from.

Joel seems to sap the life out of everything. He takes everything too seriously.
Joel needs to get a life...there is a time to sell yourself as a serious politician...but there is also time to have some fun. Joel doesn't know how to have fun...that's why he is soooooo boring.

the truth 11-06-2015 11:50 PM

hes a good addition to the house..sometimes he seems aloof but then he comesa round too, he seems open minded to the experience and has had some funhe .brings far more balance, frankly hes the closest weve had to a normal hm in years imo and that's a fantastic thing.....if it was a house full of the plastic population id have switched off day 1

Marsh. 11-06-2015 11:54 PM

He makes me think of Joeysteele.

Not the Tory stuff and the oldness but just how I imagine Joey to be in real life, like more mature than his peers.

I agree. I don't consider anything the other's do as 'fun'. I can't say I'm very similar to him, but I'm generally considered 'boring' because I prefer to do solitary things and live in my head. The attention seeking losers in the show don't interest me one bit, THOSE people are boring. I can't stand that type of person IRL and I can't stand them on the screen either. If you can't sit still, keep your voice down and hold a conversation, I'm really not interested.

Joel unfortunately doesn't really have anyone to play off and doesn't get much air-time, so we don't get to see much of him. But he has shown he has a "fun" side and is often doing random silly things as well. He is by far the most entertaining and interesting person in there, to me. He is a bit serious and his sense of humour is very dry - I thought it was bizarre when people were whinging about his bedroom interview with Marc because he was being too serious, when it was clear to me that he was just having a laugh - so I think it's easy to overlook him or not understand where he's coming from, but he is also the wrong type of person for Big Brother these days because they want loud, aggressive attention-seekers and he is none of those.

Josy 12-06-2015 07:42 AM

I actually don't hate him tbf, he is interesting in his own way it's just a 'saps the life out of me' feeling I get when he starts speaking because you know he's going to go on and on, kinda like when he started speaking on the sofas and Nick (I think it was Nick) was like 'Oh no' with a groan, that's the way Joel makes me feel

How Nice

Crimson Dynamo 12-06-2015 07:55 AM

I like him, I find him funny - his political stuff makes me laugh just because it sounds so off-kilter in BB :hee:

Crimson Dynamo 12-06-2015 07:56 AM

Also it is good to see joey, one of our own, in the house

Crimson Dynamo 12-06-2015 07:56 AM

:joker: Actually you are right, he is very like how I was a few years ago,as I said I am still like that in many ways too.

I can relate to him completely, not his politics now, although at 18 and 19, I was more to his thinking there too.

I used to be termed 'the Professor' by some at Uni,I often overheard comments like ''oops watch out here he comes, the fun has to stop now and we will have start talking more seriously''.
It was said joking, because even my friends were saying that.
It was true however.

He really does remind me of myself when I was 19,I had little humour and now at 23,I still don't really get humour, especially from others.
That is one of my worst faults,I don't lighten up easily and do take things most of the time really seriously, preferring to engage in deep serious conversation on issues than get involved in what many would call fun.

Perhaps that is why I see little wrong with Joel,I think had I gone in the BB house at 18,19 or even 20,I would have likely been a mirror image as to attitude too as to how Joel is presently.
